"$2k+ TV arrived only one day later than they estimated, and they kept their word on our shipping arrangement. Item exactly as described; new, correct model, etc.

* Asked to call and confirm the order, which is their upsell opportunity. Be prepared to swat away offers for warranty plans, half price warranty plans, cables, etc.

* Don't expect to get customer service on the phone. Sat on hold for 1+ hrs.

* E-mail questions to customer service were answered the next day, and were helpful.

"Purchasing from this store has to be my WORST online shopping experiance to date. Okay:
I purchased a Pentax Optio S5i Digital Camera for my sister as a wedding present on July 15, 2005. The wedding date was August 8th, 2005 and honeymoon shortly after. The couple needed a camera for their honeymoon and so I ordered the camera early (July 15th). First, BigOnDigital emails me on July 25th and tells me "DEAR VALUED CUSTOMER,
SORRY WE ARE HAVING A PROBLEM CONFIRMING YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS WITH YOUR AMEX CARD. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE FOLLOWING SHIPPING ADDRESS ON FILE:"
So, 10 days from purchase, and I get the first email telling me theres a problem (the camera SHOULD HAVE SHIPPED by now). So, I call my credit card company and verify the address AGAIN even though I did it after I placed the order on July 15th. Then, on July 29, I get another email: "Dear Valued Customer, Your order has been proccesed. For any further questions, please contact customer service at ***-***-****."
So, I figure the camera will ship within a day or two. The wedding comes and goes and STILL NO CAMERA WAS RECEIVED BY MY SISTER AND HER HUSBAND. So, I call on August 11th and explain the situation to the customer service reps. I talked to 4 reps and was told the camera was on BACKORDER (I never received an email telling me it was on backorder, if they wouldn't have messed around with the order then it would have shipped long time ago). I yell and yell at each of the reps and basically get nothing done. I refuse to hang up and finally speak to the Supervisor who puts me on HOLD telling me he is going to see what he can do. WHILE ON HOLD, I RECEIVE AN EMAIL TLELING ME "Dear Valued Customer, As per your request, your order has been cancelled. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at ***-***-****." HE TOLD ME HE WAS GOING TO SEE WHAT HE CAN DO FOR ME, BUT HE LIED AND INSTEAD WITHOUT TELLING ME CANCELLED MY ORDER! So after being on hold for a few mins another rep picks up the phone, and by this time, I had been talking to this company for 45 mins and was FUMING. I demand to talk to the manager or company owner and I am transferred to the Company Manager. I argue with him to give me an upgrade to the S5z for the same price since I have gone through hell. He refuses and tells me all he can do is lower the price and I cay pay the difference. After getting him to lower the price a little bit and throwing in a camera case, I finally agreed to pay the difference and upgrade to the s5z. He told me it would ship by August 15th latest. So, I call back on August 17th to check the shipping status AND THE CAMERA STILL HAD NOT SHIPPED. The rep told me there was some confusion in the order and he will ship it out right away TODAY (Aug17). Now, here I am writing this horrible review for a very horrible company. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. EVEN IF THEY HAVE THE LOWEST PRICE, YOU WILL PAY FOR IT IN THE END. Order from another more reputible company and save time. This company is horrible as the other reviews state. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE!

MY s5z WAS NOT SHIPPED WHEN THEY TOLD ME IT HAD BEEN SHIPPED. I WAITED FOR ONE WEEK AND STILL RECEIVED NO TRACKING NUMBER AS I WAS TOLD. I CALLED BACK AND THEY TOLD ME SINCE I WROTE A BAD REVIEW THEY CANCELLED MY ORDER. THATS RIGHT, CANCELLED MY ORDER BECAUSE I WROTE A BAD REVIEW. INSTEAD OF MAKING RIGHT BY SHIPPING OUT THE CAMERA I ORDERED, THEY DECIDED TO JUST FLAT OUT CANCEL THE ORDER! WHO CAN BE HAPPY WHEN THEY ORDERED A CAMERA ON JULY 15 AND STILL HADN'T RECEIVED A CAMERA AS OF AUGUST 24? THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST EVER DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. MAKE THEM PAY FOR THEIR HORRIBLE SERVICE. I HOPE THE BBB DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THEM.

ANOTHER UPDATE:
I finally got hold of the Company Manger, Jerry after 1 hour of being put on hold with noone picking up, then calling back and having the same thing happen. He told me he remembered speaking to me about my situation 2 weeks ago and does not know what happened to the order. He asked me when my credit card was billed and I gave him the date. He researched it in his system and said my order had been lost in his new $250,000 system. He said he understands why I am mad and told me he will ship out the camera at dealer cost, with free air shipping, lens kit, carrying case, and tripod. He told me he will personally follow up on this order as he should have 2 weeks ago and will box the camera himself. He tried to get me to retract my bad reviews with a memory card, however I could not justify it. He was more help than ANY of his employees. This resolution satisfies me however still angers me that I had to go through all this.

"Customer service is exceptionally poor. E-mail responses said to call customer service. Customer service hours were unfriendly. Once reached (two hold times totalled almost 50 minutes), customer service was not even sure my order was processed. Buried in their "terms and conditions" are rules regarding ground shipment acceptable delivery windows (10-14 BUSINESS DAYS)ans also exorbitant fees for cancelling or returning. An absolute joke of a company. They have low prices...but let me tell you...you DO PAY!"

"I ordered the camera on line for the advertised price of $319.99 + $19.99 shipping on 8/8/05. I received a confirmation e-mail on 8/9 with these same dollar amounts. I then received two more e-mails on 8/10 entitled "Order Verification" and "Order Confirmation." Hearing nothing since then, I called to check the status on 8/16. I was told that the price was a website mistake that was announced to the sales staff on Monday (8/15) and that they would not honor that price. They offered to sell me the same camera for the new price of $429 and throw in a camera bag for the trouble. I explained that I felt this was deceptive. I was not offered the camera for the price and terms e-mailed to me in their contract. I was not charged on my credit card to date."

"If you have or are expecting a baby...DO NOT SHOP WITH THEM!!!!

April 21, 2005: Ordered Camera> Canon Optura 30

April 21, 2005: Order Confirmed by Store

April 27, 2005: "In shipping process"

April 29, 2005: Bank Account charged

May 13, 2005: Big On Digital called and told me that they DO NOT have item in stock. I requested to have the order canceled and told I will not be charge a 10% canceling fee by the Rep. Was told, effective this date that my bank account will be refunded.

May 13 2005: Instead of being emailed a cancelation notice, I was emailed a "free shipping" notice on my next purchase- not cool.

May 16 2005: No refund, yet. No email confirming cancelation. On Big On Digital site, the Canon Optura 30 is shown as being in STOCK!I am waiting for the refund to shop elsewhere!!

May 18 2005: My account not credited. Told by BigOnDigital it would show any day.

May 25 2005: My account still not credited. Told by their accounts dept it was credited May 23rd.

May 26 2005: Finally....my money was returned to me!!

I had bought the camera to film my, now 7 month old, crawling. He has crawled. I was hoping to get the camera to film him standing. He now stands. I WILL NEVER GET THOSE MOMENTS BACK!!! Not very pleased with this company.

"Item SONY KD-34XBR960 HDTV, the best out there.

Purchased this HDTV from Big On Digital(thru Jerry, sales person, extn # 222). It was ordered on 17th, and shipped on 18th evening. It came by air from NY to MI and was delivered to me in about 5 days total. I inspected the TV for any damage. It had a few thru scratch however the inside was intact. This unit was manufactured in Dec 2004. So TV is brand NEW. It took me another 4 days to get it all hooked up and it is now about 4 days since I have been watching the programs. There is no problem anywhere. It is a great piece of equipment. I talked to Jerry about 4 times and each time he was very helping, courteous and he was ready to go additional mile to make it all work. He gave me a reasonable price and I decided to order. In my heart I was not sure if I should buy it on the net but after talking it over with Jerry, I was ready to order. I am still thinking about buying 5 years in-house extended warranty from Jerry. TV is very heavy so it may be worth as an insurance. There is no way to send this TV out for repairs, if anything happens (I do trust SONY but these days quality of everything is going down so the thought). Thanks to BOD and Jerry for making this work well. The staff at BOD was nice also. I give Jerry five star.

"The Company with a bad name in the buisness that performed like first class!
On 03/01/20005 I ordered several items from BOD
>1.SONY KDE-42XS955
>2.SONY RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder/Player
>3.CPS 5 Year Warranty For TV-In Home
>4.1M.HDMI-DVI Cables
After I placed the order,the next day Company Rep.
Willi called and with his suggestions I saved additional $242.00 on the order that was allready lower than SONY Corp. by over $1300.00.
On 03/10/2005 I was comfortable sitting in my livingroom and enjoing my New TV and DVD!
All the boxes were in original Factory packaging with brand new equipment! My Sony PlasmaTV was manufactured in February 2005! I will recomend the BigOnDigital to everybody that will ask!

"Scam artists. The hit my charge card for a Nikon Scanner knowing it was out of stock and not available in the forseeable future. Faxed request for credit to MasterCard. After two weeks no credit. It has been one month and have filed a disputed sale with MCard.
Avoid if at all possible. Very unethical.

"Ordered a Sony KV-34HS420 HD WEGA tv, for shipment to California. They said the tv was in stock, and promised they could deliver the tv within 10 business days of the order, in order to arrive before I had to complete my move overseas. Charged the card on Feb 3, and on Feb 9 said the order would take an additional 7-10 days to "process." This was in addition to the 10 business days that it would take to arrive in California. Customer service ignored my repeated emails, and simply said the same things -- wait wait wait. Should have known that things weren't right when they added "insurance" which made their shipping costs higher than anyone else's. I later found out that didn't tell me about a $100 rebate offered by Sony on this TV. Although I saw favorable reviews from "streetprices.com" for this company, both resellerratings and bizrate both give this company TERRIBLE ratings, for problems just like mine. Ultimately cancelled the order. Strongly advise you to stay away. This company is crooked, and for $50 bucks extra, you can go with a reliable company like bhphoto (who did tell me about the rebate, making the tv's total cost ultimatly $50 LESS than it was with shifty Big on Digital." "Don't do business with this company!! I ordered a TV from this company for about $850 but the actual charge was $952.19, which was different from the time I placed the order. When I call the merchant, they claimed that there were some additional charges that never show on the ordering page. And then they promise me that they will ship the TV out immediately and I’ll get it within 10 days. After that, I had waited for more than a month, I still never got the product. Also, they had never given me the tracking number of my order as they promised, so I have known nothing about the situation of my order. Then I tried to call the company many times to ask about what was wrong with my order and why they never gave me the tracking number but no one gave me the explanations and sometimes they just hang up on my call. After that I tried to call them to make a cancellation many times, but they never let me do. "

"Placed order for KDF-55XS955 for $2729.95 was told it was in stock and would ship next day. Order was put on hold. Called and they tried to sell me a $350. extended warrant. Credit card was billed $3,293.96 and then received a email 3 days later saying item was not in stock and may be 2-3 weeks. Also was charged 5.9% insurance charge that was not stated on web site at checkout. I would recommend checking with other companys before shopping here."

"Order HDTV and home theater unit on December 11, 2004. Confirmed order on December 13, 2004 and sales agent convinced me to order digital cables at my protest. Unfortunately I caved on his advise and took the cables. Home Theatre was delivered expediently. Significant expediting was required by me to get TV delivered on December 24. When unit was set up, I discovered cables were useless for the home theater and cable box that I have. Contacted BOD on December 27th and received return authorization number and sent cables back immediately. This is the last I have heard of my return order. Each time I attempt to contact BOD by telephone, I am put on hold by the auto answering system, which eventually kills the call.

Just because BOD offers a great price, does not excuse pathetic customer service. The two are unrelated. The great price should be a factor of economies of scale, no store front and efficient procurement processes. Customer service still need to be great.
