"Be very careful when purchasing from this company!

I ordered my parts for a custom bike with this company on July 20. Two days later I received an e-mail from "Sue" at BattleAxe saying my invoice was being processed and I would receive a tracking number when my parts shipped. My CC was billed.

More than a week had passed, and I hadn't received either an invoice or the parts. I then tried contacting the company to see what was going on.

For the next few days I sent e-mails and called the company, unable to reach anyone, and no one would return my calls or e-mails.

I then sent an e-mail saying if I did not hear from the company I was going to call my credit card company and issue a dispute charge. I left the same message on their answering machine.

The next morning (August 1) I got an e-mail saying my parts were back-ordered, and I would receive a tracking number when they shipped. This was the last communication I ever received from BattleAxe Cycles.

I immediately replied asking how long they thought it would take to get the parts in. Four days passed and I received no reply. I then started the entire process of trying to contact them again. For the next three days I sent e-mails and left phone calls.

Note: BattleAxe Cycles uses GMail. If you use GMail, once you exchange e-mails, you can see when they're online in Google Talk, which is built into GMail. At several points during the week I saw them online checking mail, and tried to contact them with the chat program, but was ignored there as well. I at least know my e-mails were being read though.

On Friday, August 7, I sent one last e-mail threatening again to contact my credit card company if they did not respond. I gave them 24 hours.

Then next day I was forced to do what I said, and issued a dispute with my CC against BattleAxe to get my money back.

A little research after the whole ordeal brought up posts by others having similar problems with the company. Do your own research before ordering, and before placing your order, pick up the phone and call them. Try to get an idea of what kind of headaches you're going to go through getting through to them if you have any problems.
