they stole my money

"I was refered by a professional photographer who told me great things about backdrop outlet I was hoping to have an excellent experience.
I purchased a backdrop and after waited almost for about 3 three months patiently I couldn't get any update. I asked for a refund it has been two weeks now no money back on my account and no body is answering the phone after calling customer service several times. It was my first purchase and my last one.

Poor customer service. No one would contact me back. Took over a month for the product to go out.

"A zero rating is what this company needs but I do not have that option. It has taken me over a month to finally have the rest of my order sent out. I am writing this review before I have actually received the order so there may be another review is the product is not up to standard. I placed an order on July 7th, 2018. I did not get any confirmation that the order was processed after 12 days so I contacted them. I was told that they were running a promo and they had a lot of orders coming in. I asked them what the typical turn around on an order is and I was told 7-10 days. Which is what it says on their website. I was told the order would be going out the following week. So the following week I noticed online that my order was still in production, so I called them up on July 21st and I was told that the order would be going out that day. (By the way every time I have called them I am on hold anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour). Again, I check the status of my order on July 23rd and it still is in production. I call again and I am told that the order would be going out the following day. It has now been 16 days since I placed the order. I wait until the 25th to check the status of my order and sure enough it was not sent out and it is still showing in production. I again call and they said they were having issues with part of my order and they tried to print it and it did not come out correctly. I was assured that it would be going out that day! I have heard that story before. Finally I find out that the order was shipped on the 27th. Oh yeah! But when I received my order on the 30th it was only part of the order. So I call (waited on hold for 48 minutes) I asked if the order was shipped in multiple packages because I received 2 packages but not all of the items were there. I was told that the cube and covers were shipped separately. Ok, so I checked online and noticed that those items still show they are in production. I call back and I was told that they tried a couple of times to print them but they did not come out correctly. I asked when would they be printed correctly, I was told they would be going out the following day, July 31st. I noticed on the morning of August 1st that it was still showing in production. So, again I call and they told me that they were going to get this ordered completed for me. On August 3rd still no sign of it being completed. They told me that the production manager would be contacting me. Never happened.

So at this point here are the reasons that the order was not completed.
1. It did not print correctly
2. It is too hot right now in California and the transfer is too sticky
3. It printed out too small.

I have asked several times to have a manager or someone to call me. I asked the staff that answers the phone to have a manager to contact me and I have used their online form for a manager to contact me. Guess what? I never had a manager email me or call me. Great ways to do business.

So I August 9th I finally had blown my top because it still showed the order in production. I called, kept my temper in check and asked what was going on. I was told they were still having issues and that the product manager would call me. I needed these items over a week ago so I went to an antique mall and found the props I needed for the backdrop. I spent $50 which is under half of what the cost of the items I was waiting for from Backdrop Outlet. Satisfied that I can now go forward, I called them back when I got home to ask for a refund. I was literally on hold for 64 minutes. Finally, someone answered and I gave them my order number and told them I would just like to have a refund at this point. No mangers would call or email me and you have stated 7 times that my order would go out that day. Guess what? I was told that I could not have a refund because in the time I was shopping at the antique mall and the time I was on hold my order was completed and was packaged up and setting in the bin to be shipped. OH MY GOSH ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I don't need the items now. I asked if they could be shipped out overnite since I have been waiting so long and she told me USPS doesn't offer that. What! So now I have products coming ( I will believe it when it arrives) that I don't need anymore.

Through this entire nightmare not once did anyone contact me and try to make things right! That is the most disappointing aspect of the entire ordeal. Had they tried a little with customer service I may not be writing this review. If I handled my customers this way I would be out of business. When I offer a product and it does not come out right I work on it until it is complete. Not let an entire month go by!!!

Not happy -- look elsewhere.

"Ordered a backdrop from BackdropOutlet.com. They were appropriately responsive and I soon saw my layout proof on my screen. The logo was the correct logo and it was laid out and positioned as instructed and the colors were correct. I approved the layout for production, but when I got the product, I saw that some of the finer lines in the logo were missing. These would have been almost impossible to see in the full-screen view of their proof; I would have had to zoom in quite a bit to see this flaw -- yet when I reviewed the proof; I was looking for (1) them using the correct logo; (2) the colors WERE correct, and (3) the layout was as requested. Those were the proofing criteria described in their own website language. Is it on ME that I didn't zoom-in far enough to see the missing lines? Well, I guess I can see some logic there. But when I contacted them about it, they insisted the artwork was flawed (this is an Adobe Illustrator logo I've used in many many dozens of other applications without fail) and that if I wanted them to re-do it (which I was willing to do and pay for!), I'd have to "fix" the art first. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck and I knew this was a load of crap. So I found another source on-line -- there are many -- and had them do it. Perfectly, flawlessly, promptly, and using the exact same logo art I'd sent to B.O. I even emailed B.O. that another vendor had produced a perfect product using the exact same logo file I'd sent them, and (of course) I got no reply not an apology.... No, I cannot say that I'd recommend Backdrop Outlet."

One star is generous!

"I purchased a stand on 3/20 for an event on 4/14. On 3/29, I received an e-mail notification that my order had been shipped. After several days, I inquired about delivery and subsequently received a reply on 4/4 that the item had not shipped and was actually back-ordered, with a promise to ship on 4/6. When I did not receive shipping confirmation, I canceled the order on 4/9 requesting that a credit be issued.

Backdropoutlet.com neither acknowledged the cancellation notice nor issued a credit to the account. On 5/11, I received a message that the item had been delivered - one month after cancellation.

And there's more, I found a high-quality substitute item on Amazon-PRIME for $59.99 and had it delivered in time for the event! The item ordered through Backdrop Outlet was $139.00 - more than twice as much!

As of 5/15, still no reply from ****@****!

Never again............

"If I had been smart and looked at the BBB (F rating), Yelp & ResellerRatings pages, I wouldn't have placed an order. I'm having the same issues with them that everyone is complaining about on these pages. You get horrible runaround answers... and products are unusable. :( I'm sorry this is long, but it shows what I'm presently going through since February with them.

****** First order on 2/22/18 $149 - Lightweight Cloth (says 7-10 days online)
Called to check on the status after 10 days. First was told it would ship in a few days. Called back the next week and was told they were having printer issues and they were backed up – she said she would call me when the issues are fixed… no one ever called. Received 03/16/18 – damaged with large vertical black streaks all over it (unusable). Sent back 3/17/18 after they asked for pictures of it. Received again 3/26/18 – Still unusable.. and I gave up. Horizontal black lines this time that shows every few inches from the printer. Ended up using and putting a texture on top of it during editing to get the photos done. Won’t be using it again…. Waste of money.

*******Second order (2 items) 02/25/18 $168
(1) Painted Muslin – to date, never received (says 6-8 weeks online)
Called after 8 weeks to ask about the status (4/24/18) and was told the manufacturer sent in backdrops that were damaged and it’d be another 8+ weeks. I asked them to cancel and give me a refund since it wouldn’t make it for my deadline. Said it would be 7-10 days for my refund after a manager approves it. Called 5/3/18 to ask about my refund status. Was told the manager hasn’t approved it yet and that was the hold-up. I asked her to get the manager so I could get more answers. I was put on hold and after a few minutes she said: “it looks like the manager has stepped away”. I asked the manager’s name and she said she didn’t know because she wasn’t in that department and wasn’t privy to that information. Then I asked her what her manager’s name was, and she said well my name is Bre. And I asked again who her manager was and she kept avoiding it and after a long silence, she finally told me “Heidi”. Bre said she would put a note on her desk. I asked her if she had looked online at the negative reviews and she said no. It does NOT take 10+ days to get a refund submitted for approval, and it does NOT take 7-10 days after someone approves it to get one......
(2) Matte Vinyl Backdrop – received 03-05-18
The “Matte” vinyl was VERY shiny. I ended up using it as a floor drop due to it being so reflective which gave me a “plexiglass” type of look, there are also black horizontal lines going through it from the printer. I have many vinyl backdrops (dark and light) and none reflect the light (nor have lines through them - not even the cheap eBay backdrops are like this LOL). Another waste of money and BIG lessons learned.

I want my money refunded. Now I'll have to start the process of a dispute with my credit card. Such an annoying company. How are they in business ?!?!?! I wish I could post photos on here of what I received ........

Worst Customer Support Ever!

"I received 2/3 of my order... The first 1/3 came pretty quickly, but I was never informed that I was going to receive it in multiple shipments. After not receiving the rest of my order I called and was told that the rest was on the way. After about a week I got the second 1/3, again not knowing that the second 1/3 was also going to be received in separate shipments. I called a week later and was told it would be here in a week.

Here we are over a month later and I still haven't received my full order. I called last Thursday and was on hold for over an hour, my call went silent like someone picked up the line and then hung up. I called back and half an hour later I was finally speaking to a customer service representative. She told me she was the only one taking calls right now and that the remaining part of my order was supposed to be shipped directly to me from their supplier and she would have to investigate what happened and get back to me. Dubious to her request and against my better judgement I agreed to let her look into it.

I never received a call back or anything, so here it is April 18th, 40 days after I placed my order and I'm on hold again, so far for another 30 minutes after already being hung up on again after 33 minutes.

The quality is crap. Their customer service is worse.

"They don't answer emails but they somehow are able to spam your email all day, every day with offers. My order took almost 3 weeks to arrive. I emailed, submitted a form from their website, and finally called. When it did arrive, it was nearly unusable. If you want a low quality textured background printed from an inkjet printer and then rolled up and shipped when the ink is wet so the design comes off when it's unrolled, this is your place! If not, order from somewhere else."

"Nine weeks have passed and no product delivery and no refund of my money. Had to file complaints with the BBB, Visa, and local authorities. Customer service has been no help and only provides excuses as to why they will not provide my. refund. In essence, the company has stolen my money."

Terrible Customer Service & Quality

"If I could give negative stars I would. I ordered a dress on this website per the request of a photographer that was shooting a maternity photo shoot for me. I placed the order almost 2 months in advance, and the dress STILL did not show up in time. Not to mention that the quality of the dress was terrible. When I called and asked to return the dress because I obviously did not need it anymore, they said that I could only have site credit. I am not a photographer and would never need anything on the website, so a site credit is no good to me. I spoke with Wendy a manager, who said that she goes directly to the owers who 9 times out of 10 will refuse a refund. She would not share the name of the owner, but shame on them. I would never recommend ordering from this website!"

"I would like to say this company is completely irresponsible , I'm still trying to collect a claim for about more than 15 days , they keep the money and still no reasonable service...no action taken!!! Always the same excuse , what I think is they are in red numbers...NOT HAPPY AT ALL

OBSESSED WITH MY BACKDROP! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

"I can't believe how fast my backdrop came and the quality is amazing! I ordered a backdrop for my baby shower and I am actually going to go back and order a custom table cloth and possibly table runners too! The print quality is beautiful and their team was so helpful during the entire process. I ordered it on a Tuesday and I had my order by the following week (including customizing time with a proof!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND BACKDROP OUTLET!

I just got my backdrop and am so happy,

" I ordered a custom backdrop for bridal shower I am having and looks so great!
It is going to make the whole theme come together. Looks better then expected and the fabric folds easily for storage till the event.
Thinking of ordering the matching table runner now.
