"My teenage son scraped up the size of my car. Lots of scrapes, a couple of dents, and some paint that was cracked and flaking off.
A body shop wanted $3600 to fix the dents and repaint, or $1800 to just fix the paint. A couple of youtube videos later, and I was pretty sure that I could touch up the paint myself at least well enough that the cracked and flaking paint wouldn't be a problem and the doors wouldn't rust.
I found AutomotiveTouchup.com and for under $100 I got everything I needed. A perfectly color-matched paint, a black primer, a gloss/clear coat, a mixed pack of sandpaper, a swanky spray can handle, some rubbing compound, and a tack cloth.
I found the products to be good quality. The aerosols all sprayed nicely and smoothly, the color was a perfect match to my car (a black metallic), and I think I did a pretty good job for my first time painting a car repair. I didn't get quite the same high gloss finish as my car had when it was new, but I think that's because I got a little lazy with the rubbing compound, and don't have an electric orbital polisher, like the guy in the video I watched.
