Mostly happy!

"I've always bought as a Guest so I'm not tied into a program. I've bought several tops in varied pretty colors, including mock neck tops. I love the corduroy jackets in 4-5 lovely colors, just as classy with jeans as with casual business pants. I avoid Foxcroft blouses & tops...sizes not right, & I don't buy dresses, bought one & just not great material. I always wash items in cold & NO dryer heat...some will shrink due to cotton. I'm bad about returns so can't comment on customer service but deliveries have been timely. Oh also bought a very nice raincoat, sleeves a bit long but it's very nice otherwise, a bit pricey though. I'm mostly a fan, & im a repeat customer! Hope that helps!"

Shipping issues

"I ordered merchandise 8 days ago from Appleseed and the order hasn't moved. Customer services has been saying for 4 days that the order will be processed and shipped promptly. The shipping cost are high and customer service is low. "

Terrible order processing and shipping, shipping costs charged for orders and for returns

"In the past 2 years, Appleseed's order processing and shipping do not live up to their published standards. They offer free shipping only if you spend a designated amount ($79 this holiday season), and if you must return an item (rather than exchange), shipping charges are deducted from the amount they refund. If the item has gone on sale since your purchase date, instead of refunding the purchase price you paid, they refund only the sale price of the item. Standard shipping is promised as 6-8 business days after the order is processed. Once the order is processed, customer service does not seem to be able to access an actual shipment date until an email is sent notifying you the order has shipped. A requested gift item was ordered 12/3, finally received 12/24. Unfortunately it had to be returned. The replacement item was ordered 1/5 and on 1/22 I was informed that the order is lost in transit. I will say that the Customer Service people I have dealt with are pleasant -- maybe because they get so much practice. Don't order anything if you have a serious deadline that must be met, unless you allow for poor shipping and delivery.
I will say that the clothing I have purchased from Appleseed's previously has been of good quality and value. The problem I am focusing on started around 2 years ago. There is a major disconnect between the point an order is placed, when it is processed for shipping, and how long it takes to actually arrive. This does not seem to be true for some of the sister-companies.

Beware

"I returned an item. They only refunded 50% of my payment!
No explanation.
Plus they took weeks after I returned to issue the refund.
Longer than any on-line company I've ever purchased

Extremely slow to process orders!

"I placed my order 10 days ago and it still has not shipped. On their website it states that orders will arrive in 6-8 business days. My items will definitely not arrive in the next 24 hours. Customer service says it will arrive in 11-14 days. Maybe they should update their website? Considering their prices are so high, they should at least give better service. This is my first and last order from Appleseeds.com."

Poor customer service

"I placed an online order for a dress for a wedding. When it arrived it was too large, so I placed a new orderer a smaller size over the phone. I was told it would be 3 business days to process then 5-8 business days for it to be delivered. Over the past 11 days the order has shown as "in process" when I check online. I have contacted customer service by email and phone and have been told the same thing, 3 days to process, 5-8 days to receive. I spoke with customer service TWO DAYS ago, and was told "there was a problem" and she could not say what that was, but we were back at "day 1" and the order was "on the truck". Today when I rechecked the status of my order it says the item is temporarily unavailable!! If the representative had tole me that 2 days ago I could have already ordered something different. I will NEVER ORDER FROM APPLESEEDS AGAIN!!!"

Fool Me Once, . . .

"About 6 weeks ago, I ordered 2 sets of silk pajamas. About a week later - I received an email saying the 1 set I wanted most - was no longer available. A week later!!! - I sent an email back saying cancel the order. - They refused to. So - a week ago I placed a similar order. - 3 days later I received an email - that the pjs were no longer available. - UNBELIEVABLE!
I will NEVER use Appleseed again!

Appleseed VIP Program is a rip-off

"I received a pop-up coupon offer and clicked on it. I was immediately enrolled in the VIP Program without any clear way of getting out of the coupon offer. I also did not read that they would be charging my credit card $1.99 per month for this so-called service.
The same day I sent their customer service an email that I want the program cancelled.
The next day they charged $1.99 to my credit card AND sent me an email that they had cancelled the program and would not be charging my credit card again. NO MENTION OF REVERSING THE CHARGE TO MY CREDIT CARD AFTER I CANCELLED THE SERVICE.
I am outraged that Appleseeds would stoop to slimy behavior such as this and will not be buying anymore merchandise from them.
BUYER BEWARE. Do not take them up on their coupon offers, you'll regret it. They can keep their coupons.

SHIPMENT STUCK AT A DHL FACILITY-APPLESEED'S REPS RUDE AND UNHELPFUL

"I used to order from Appleseed's very frequently but haven't in about a year until recently. I ordered something weeks ago. First, they messed up payment from my Paypal account and then didn't notify me. After about 1.5 weeks of waiting for my order to ship, I called them and found out. This was resolved and I've been waiting another week and a half for my package. It's stuck in a DHL facility with inaccurate tracking saying that it's been tendered to USPS. USPS doesn't have the package, although according to their records it should have been delivered to me YESTERDAY. You cannot get through to DHL even waiting for 30 mins. as they suggest on their site that you contact the merchant. (Appleseeds) The first Appleseeds rep said she can't track anything or call DHL or contact them. The second rep said it doesn't matter if it's stuck there, it's still within the APPLESEEDS 4-8 business delivery window of theirs. They were both abrupt and very nasty. I obviously didn't receive any help from them. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN."

Appleseed'd charges you $9.99 for their mistake.

"My experience is similar to others posting here. I ordered a pair of pants in size 18. They sent the item in size 10. I returned the item checking the code that indicated it was Appleseed's mistake. They still deducted $9.99 from my refund. I called customer service and with great difficulty got a human being called Becky. She repeated over and over that Appleseed's had determined that they were not at fault. I finally told her that they had lost a long-time customer. Appleseed's is obviously not the company they once were. Be very careful if you order from them. They will not accept responsibility for their errors. It will cost you at least $9.99 if not more!"

Incorrect item shipped but shipping charge not refunded

"I ordered Monterey Bay brand t shirts from Appleseed's, but they shipped Tog Shop brand t shirts from Tog Shop. Apparently these are sister companies. The Tog Shop t shirts have a different neck line than the Monterey Bay t shirts. Since these were not the shirts I ordered, I returned them. Appleseed's will not refund the shipping and handling charges. Since they shipped an incorrect item it seems like I should not have to pay for shipping and handling. They refuse to do anything. "

Good items with good prices

"I purchased 2 sweaters and a camisole. I got free shipping. The items were a good quality and fit exactly as sized. They arrived in several days after I ordered. I am pleased with my purchase. I will not need to return anything, so I do not know how that issue would be handled. I thought the prices were very good."

"Horrible customer service, overcharge for shipping

I made a large order to Appleseed women's clothing from the online store. I was disappointed at the exorbitant charge for shipping (21.99USD) and the package arrived on the 11th day. This was the last possible day for the company to comply with the 8 business day window. I complained, and received a 5USD coupon that could NOT be used online! Then, the items came and had a very odd chemical smell so I requested a free of charge return label. The customer service rep stated that there was nothing wrong with the merchandise so they could not send me a credit for the return. I do a lot of shopping online and I have never had such a bad experience. Beware of buying from Appleseed.
