"On September 23rd, 2009 I pre-ordered 3 sets of Star Wars Lightsaber Chopsticks from Animewild.com. Boy was THAT a mistake! Since this was a preorder all I received via email was a confirmation of my order.

It is not the middle of December and I have not received my items even though they have been released to the public. I have emailed Animewild.com 4 times now with NO response what so ever. It is really angering for them to be such a loser of a company!

Please, do not order from this company if you wish for your items to be shipped to you. They promise great things but give you ZERO!

I have also filed a complaint against this company with the BBB in hopes to get them shut down.

"After the many poor reviews I'd read about Animewild I was hesitant to order from them, but they had some items I really wanted, and they were the only place that claimed to have them in stock, so I emailed Henry for clarification.

He replied the same day, assuring me that two of the figures I wanted were in stock and ready to ship (with a third one set to arrive within the week,) and referred me to their Amazon.com feedback.

He explained that yes, they are a very small company, and had some problems in the past due to manpower and stock concerns, but they are trying to rectify these problems.

With a certain level of reassurance, I placed my order. Unfortunately, Henry emailed me the next day to let me know that the incoming third figure I ordered was not actually in stock just yet, due to a late shipment from their supplier. He offered to hold my order and ship when it arrived, or drop it from my order and refund the difference.

I chose to have the item dropped, since Henry said it could be as long as two weeks before the third figure arrived. The rest of the order shipped the next day, and the refund arrived the day after. I received the order without incident, well-packed and covered in tissue paper.

After this experience, I have a reasonable level of confidence in Animewild, but I wouldn't order from them again. It took too much prodding and hand-holding to get my order, and the ever-present threat of negative feedback.

"I place order with AnimeWild on 09/15/09. Tracking my item states shipped 09/18/09. As of today 09/28/09 I have NOT received item nor have i goten response from AnimeWild wiht 4 emails. I have no contact number to talkk to love person either. I will never order from this place again. I will cancel paypal payment as well. "

"I placed an order for some baseball caps on 30 June and have not received the goods nor had any updates since. I followed up via email with AnimeWild on 9 July and had no response. As I paid via Paypal, I have now open a dispute with Paypal's resolution center.

13th July update:
Animewild has not responded to Paypal and have unilaterally cancelled my order on their Website on the 10 July - the day I raise the issue with Paypal. I had no communication AT ALL from them since the 1st email sent in response at time of order.

"This was the second time I attempted to make a purchase at the store.

The first time, which was late August 2008, I was ordering an item that was still in production, but AnimeWild and many other places were accepting advanced orders. A credit card was used to make the purchase, so no charges were made since they couldn't ship anything to me.

Once I found out that the item was no longer going to be released (about seven months later), my order with AnimeWild was canceled from their end. I received no notification of the cancelation--or anything regarding the item or order status the entire time, so it was by logging into the site (only after learning of the news, and entirely on a whim) that I eventually discovered this.

I had no issues with the company at this time because they seemed to be on the ball--despite not informing me of the canceled order.

So... months ago (mid-April), I decided to order a simple item that was unavailable in most other places. Instead of going with marketplace sellers at Amazon, I opted to give AnimeWild a chance and made the buy.

But this time, I paid via paypal, and the order was charged/billed immediately since the item was listed as "Availability: Ships in 1-3 days unless restocking". NOTE: Anime Wild seems to use this listing for everything that's supposedly in stock, so that they don't have to say whether or not something IS actually "in stock".

Everything seemed to be going well until I noticed the order status wasn't changing when I logged on the site. (I did this frequently since the lack of confirmation with the previous order bugged me.) After a week, I scoured the site in search for a way to contact the dealer--to inquire about the order status and item availability; but the only things there were a single PO Box address, and email form here: http://www.animewild.com/contact_us.php

I sent an inquiry via that page (with the Tracking subject), and received a copy for myself.

They were silent.

Five days later, I sent yet another inquiry (to Sales) via that form, and still... nothing.

I figured that I was perhaps, too hasty, and decided to wait until mid May, i.e., more than a month after the date of purchase. By then, I was annoyed with having received nothing in the mail, and seeing the unchanged order status (on their site), and thus, informed them that I would be opening up a dispute with Paypal.

Zero responses.

I followed through by opening the dispute, and put it in the hands of Paypal; they took their sweet time to look into things...

So only yesterday, the 9th of June, was the dispute resolved in my favor (since with some urging, Paypal finally contacted Anime Wild and got no response either), so I'm still waiting for the money to show up in my account.

I can only imagine the headaches that would have ensued had my credit card been charged for a much larger, more expensive order. If anything, I think Anime Wild is somewhat like Fox Anime in that they look good on the front, but there's nobody at home. If there is, it's either fraud, or they have the worst customer service/sales around.

I also don't know of anyone that's made a successful purchase from Anime Wild, so whether or not my issues with them have been a mere fluke is yet to be seen.

Lesson Learned: if you need things badly, and the seller looks a tad shady, just go with trusted marketplace sellers or reliable sources. The extra money spent saves on the time wasted, and any irritability you'll get with such asinine transactions.
