"Buyer Beware!! Completely unethical way of doing business. Purchased TDK 24 Velo CD. Website listed as new. Actually refurbished. Was told on the phone by Bob that they did not know the drives received were refurbished. Next day, website changed desc to refurbished and reduced price by $25. But drive was DOA. Had to send it back. Got a second drive, that one worked very sporadically. Most of the time could not get the door open and CD would not eject until I rebooted. Between the two drives, spent 15 hours on phone with Adamant tech support (who were nice) and TDK tech support (who were wonderful). Finally, after all this aggravation, sent the drive back and asked for a refund (I was willing to eat the 20 percent restocking fee).
Recd call back from Thomas saying that, sorry, the best they could do was to either send me another refurbished drive (the 3 strikes theory?) or upgrade to a better drive. To upgrade would cost me another $22 dollars EVEN THOUGH these two drives are the SAME price on the website!!! Where's the logic in this? The logic, according to Adamant, is that since the original purchase was in Feb, I would have to pay the difference from back then!! Could not get a credit since it was over 30 days since purchase. But, returned both drives within 30 days. I was on the phone for a total of about an hour trying to understand this particular brand of thinking!
So, heed this advice: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, do business with this company!! "
"The price was right for a TDK 24x10x40 CD-RW on pricewatch. No where on Pricewatch did it say this was refurbished. On the seller web site in very small letters was ref. Did not know what this meant. I have had nothing but problems trying to get a burner from them that will work. On the 3rd one. Ready to eat the cost just so I don't have to keep sending back bad units. Buyer beware of their deceptive selling practices. Low prices on products that DON'T WORK!! "
"The price was great for my Nomad II MG other than the fact that it was refurbished which I knew by the "REF." However, it did take them to a week from the time I ordered it to the time I processed. I've heard a lot about the fact that Adamant had bad products, but my Nomad II MG came in a nice shrink-wrapped unopened box probably direct from the Creative. Still, the refurbished one still isn't as good as the retail ones, i.e. bad battery and a constant background humming."
"RUN, DON'T WALK from this place, total nightmare, buyer beware!"
"AAHHH!!!!! NIGHTMARE!!!!!
I chose ADAMANT 'cause i saw how low their prices were. NOW I KNOW WHY.
Their RMA Dept. is decent enough, that is, if you product is DOA (and you don't mind wating 10 days because they ship UPS ground).
But if you want to return... Oh, boy, you better forget it. Approach all purchases from Adamant as if they had a no-returns, no-exchanges, no-refunds policy (even though they say they can) because they will run you around in circles and through the mail until your meager 30 day limit is up.
Oh yes, and don't bother leaving a message unless it's outside their working hours, because it will be several days before they respond."
"I ordered a SCSI CD-burner with card from them at an unbelievably low
price. Turns out it was a refurb, which they should have told me up
front. I'd still have bought it. It arrived when they said it would,
in a slightly mangled box. They had added a SCSI cable outside the
box. The shipping charges were the best I've seen in a while.

"As a business buying 10 to 20 pc's a year, we have zero complaints. The company is located nearby and is open till 6pm at the listed address for picking up orders in person. Not a virtual operation, they stock product on site. They are currently expanding to handle more business growth. Web site clearly states 30 day return for any reason your not satisfied with no restock charges. Our experience on returns qualifies it."
