"I ordered 4 black Icydock harddrive trays from Acortech. Their website stated they were in stock. On the 23rd, I received a call from them claiming they were out of stock and only had 4 beige ones to send me instead.
After validating my desire with them (what other choice did I have since they'd wasted 2 friggin days) they wasted ANOTHER 12 hours or so before shipping out the product.
I have actually received products I ordered after my Acortech order before they even shipped theirs!
Anyways, I needed it by this weekend. They had plenty of time to get it to me if they'd have used a decent ground shipping. Instead, they used the slowest ground shipping you can get. It's expected to arrive on the 30th now and hasn't even left the damn shipping center as of yet.
Overall, I'm EXTREMELY unhappy with Acortech. I wish I'd never heard of them. Their terrible customer service and bait/switch tactics aren't worth the paper this post is printed on.
Update 6/4/06: The IcyDock's work quite well. I just wish I'd spent an extra $4 each to get them from a more reputable vendor that would have shipped them using some more speedy method AFTER THEY DISCOVERED THEY HAD MADE A MISTAKE.
It's still my opinion that you should not buy from Acortech."

"I was looking to buy a 5.25 external enclosure with a Prolific 3507 chipset in it and I found the "Creative I/O 5.25? & 3.5 USB2.0 Silver Aluminum Enclosure" in Acortech.com site. As you can see in the link, it says that it has a Prolific 3507 chipset. I even talked to their online helper and they confirmed that this has a Prolific chipset in it. I placed an order. It got proceesed and shipped on time but when I got it, I saw the chipset in it is from a very low-end manufacturer named Myson Century CS8818. The enclosure doesn't work well and I cannot burn my DVDs most of the time. They misadvertised on their website about the product and their online help people didn't stike me as knowledgable people too. I am starting a dialouge with the company to exchange the part. First experience with them and It has been a bad one. Will never buy from them and will not suggest them to others for doing business with."
"I placed an order and paid via PayPal. Acortech sent email with tracking number on 4/6/2006. Package never showed up under USPS tracking system. I sent emails to the company after 2 weeks. They kept stalling, asking me to wait 3 days. On 4-27 they sent me an email asking to wait 3 days and they would reship if I did not receive the order. I sent email on 5-3 informing them that the package was not sent. They then required that I go to the post office to resolve this and then call them. Contacting the post office is their job and I am sure the phone call is just another excuse to stall once again.
