"This was by far the worst online purchasing experience I have had in the last few years. Customer service is unresponsive at best. They ship by UPS Basic, which turns a one day delivery into four if you are lucky - but more importantly, you lose the ability to track your package and the accountability of a single carrier. They charge enough to cover regular UPS Ground service, so this is just another way for them to make money. Customer service does not read your emails, they just barely scan them and send you a canned response - absolutely worthless. I can't stress enough that you should avoid this place at all cost. I can't believe that they can stay in business."

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE!!! They have the worst customer service I have EVER encountered. I returned a product that came to me damaged and their first email back to me was that they weren't going to refund my money because the product was damaged!! No, really?!? When I told them that is the way it came to me, they still charged me a 10% restocking fee and would not refund my full purchase price no matter how many emails and phone calls I made. REALLY REALLY BAD CUSTOMER PRACTICES. AVOID AT ALL COSTS."

"AceHardwareOutlet.com is a merchant to be avoided. I placed an order for 4 in-stock items on March 31st. Here it is April 23rd and I am still waiting for two of the items. The two that were delivered arrived in seperate shipments 4 days apart. I would not recommend this merchant."

"I couldn't find any wagner power rollers at my local HomeDepot (even though they still sell the power painting tools) and my local Ace hardware store had a few left for a whooping $9 each!
so I went online and found this place selling them for $3.79 (less then anywhere I could find) and ordered a bunch.

Shipping took a good week (NY to CA), bit longer than I wantwed, but everything is there and rate was reasonable. Good email communication and tracking info. No complain whatsoever (didn't have to return anything).

Only thing maybe misleading was that I thought they were ACE hardware online - guessing it's not the official one, just a local store selling onlone - and my local shop couldn't find those skew numbers.

Anyway, great saving and I will shop there again.

"Would not recommend this company to others. I am still waiting for my order 7 days after placing it. Item was shipped on the 22nd and shipped from New York and I am located in Pennsylvania. It is now the 27th and still no item. A 5 day shipping method from NY to PA is just inexcusable. "

"Stay away from this seller. I opened a defective heater product purchased from Acehardwareoutlet just after their 30 day cutoff and asked to swap it out. Acehardwareoutlet said no, deal with the manufacturer. So off I went and the manufacturer was so embarrassed by my treatment that they sent me a new unit on the spot."

"AceHardwareOutlet.com is terrible. I placed an order for 4 items, all listed as in-stock, on their webpage. Two days later, I noticed my order still had not shipped, so I gave them a call. Turns out that they were holding my order because 2 of the 4 items were out of stock! They should have a) had correct stock information on their website and b) called the customer immediately to let them know the order would be delayed. AVOID!"

"Acehardware online are either crooks or simply stupid beyond belief. I ordered suet from them from an ad at amazon.com which states the suet is sold in cases of 12 (twelve). I ordered "2" and instead of receiving 24 suets they sent me 2 and they charged me over $6 in shipping. When I complained they agreed the ad (at Amazon.com) is a mistype and THEIR FAULT. But they refused to give me a refund. They said I could keep the 2 suets but with the charge of $6+ they still made a profit. I complained again and they said forget it. O.K. then fine my review is, they are crooks,and I urge everyone not to purchase from them online unless the shipping is free I suppose.

Oh - and don't believe their ads either. Right?

"I’ve ordered wrong items and replacing them was a nightmare! They sent me about 15 emails asking what I want to do while I clearly stated which items I want as replacements. Finally they sent me the replacements and the items were damaged…. Horrible experience. Stay away from this store! "

"This is a rewrite (and condensation) of my original comments and previous update.

I ordered on a Thursday and while AHO charged my credit card that day, they didn't ship until the following Tuesday.

The shipment was of three items bundled together and arrived in good condition. When I opened the outer wrapper, I found that one of the items was "open box" and was missing necessary parts. I emailed AHO, attaching photos of the box/contents.

AHO offered a 25% "refund". I requested that it be handled as defective merchandise as per their Refund Policy.

AHO replied that UPS would be by to inspect the damage within 5 working days. ??? I'd been specific in my first email that the package arrived in good condition and the missing parts could not have been lost in transit. I didn't reply to AHO, but did contact UPS to inform them that the package did arrive in good condition.

Next (this Tue, a week following the receipt of the shipment) AHO emailed me that they would be shipping the replacement this Friday. But that was soon followed up by a telephone call saying the replacement would be shipped the next day. It was and arrived today (Thur).

This time the item had a single missing (necessary) part which, fortunately, was in the original shipment.

That the manufacturer has poor quality control in their packaging dept. is beyond AHO's conrol. And it wouldn't be to AHO's advantage to have a warehouse ship a non-functional open box item. Also, AHO never suggested that I was trying to rip them off.

It does appear that AHO has a set procedure that they follow with defective merchandise, which can really drag things out. But while I wouldn't want to do it over again, in the end, I was satisfied.
