"Awful! I assumed that a reputable name company like Ace Hardware would have it together, but no. I would never do business with this online store again.
I ordered a shed to be delivered to my local Ace outlet. My credit card was charged the day that I made the order. I received an email a few days later that the order had shipped and would arrive in 8-12 days. It never did.
The local Ace store does not know that orders are coming from the online store. They seem to have no way get any information from the online people. The online store's email and phone number are totally automated and will only repeat back that the "order has shipped". There is no way at all to find out whatever happened to your order.
The local store was very sympathetic and responsive. They tried to get resolution from from corporate, but, they couldn't get an answer either. They recommended that I call my credit card company and dispute the charge. I'm hoping this charge doesn't show up on my account.
Bottom line: you may never get your order, or know whatever happened to it, but they will get yoru money."
"This order was for a ship-to-store item and acehardware.com doesn't seem to have a feedback collection system. It took a week to locate and ship the item, while most online merchants do this by the second day, maximum. About half way through this time period, I sent a message to the help desk, with the order number in the subject line. It took 3-4 days as I recall to get an answer to a bona fide customer -- about twice as long as most and promised in 24 hrs. I called the store to find out if it had been received, even though they claimed the store would call me -- it had been received three days before, but no call. When I got to the store, they didn't know where it was or whom to talk with, but it was brought to the front of the store in a few minutes. Oddly, it had no mention of my name or order on it. And lastly, there is an "Ace Contractor Center" closer to my home, but it does not appear on the ship-to pick-list."
