"Absolutely the worst customer service experience ever. I was going to spend $30K on Camera equipment (Panasonic AF100 kit), they sold my camera to someone else when it arrived from panasonic after waiting 1 month, kit had missing pieces, no response to multiple email requests asking about additional equipment that I wanted to purchase, no response to multiple emails about status of kit, they said they would issue a refund and didn't, had to ask for a refund 8 days later again, sent refund to a wrong account ( paypal account that I didn;t even give them). Currently have Amex involved in a dispute with this company to get a refund of my deposit. These guys are operationally a complete mess, back office has no idea what orders are pending, what has been paid for , how its been paid for. No response to voice mails or emails. Special Customer service resolution lady went to a conference in Vegas and left a message on her VM saying she is out of pocket for next week....what the hell kind of customer service is that if you can't even get hold of customer service for a week.

I am no means a complainer, I really really tried to work with these guys....these guys are either very busy that they dont care, inept or indifferent...for the size of the order $30K they should have damned well cared and have much better customer service....perhaps they have too much business that they can tick off $30K customers as small fry.

"Absolutely superb people to do business with! Very responsive, excellent customer service, fast shipping. I had a small problem with my order which involved a shipping discrepency and it was taken care of immediately with one phone call and no hassles whatsoever. I would definitely buy from them again. They're great!"

"I was specifically looking to purchase a Panasonic DVX100. Price didn't bother me, for any reputable reseller was going to charge $3,500. I looked through the site, and was pleased to discover that it had DVX100 packages at different price ranges. It was obvious without even calling them that Abel Cine Tech had done some research about the product.

I gave them a call, and to my surprise I didn't get a messaging service, but rather a secretary! I told her I wished to purchase a DVX100, and that I was simply an electronic film student at a local school. She contacted me with Jeff Lawson, one of their two NY location sales reps. Having called other resellers, I immediately noticed a difference in the way Mr. Lawson treated me as a customer. I told him I was simply a student shopping around for prices, and his pleasant demeanor didn't change a bit. There was no pressure to buy accessories. I could ask him question after question without feeling like I was becoming bothersome. What put it over the top for me was when he asked me "I'm sure you've seen this camera sold for much lower prices. Have you ever heard of a reseller called "Broadway Photo"...? Before he could continue I said "I would never go near that place". And then an there I knew I could trust this company.

I also ran into a problem with my debit card. I didn't know I could only spend $800 a day, and when I put down a $1000 deposit, it obviously shut down my card for a day. When I called up to apologize, Mr. Lawson explain that there was no problem. I explained that I was able to up the spending level to $2000 a day, and he said that they'd simply charge $2000 today, and the rest tomorrow. Did they have to do this? At this point, when I had already made the commitment to buy from them, did Mr. Lawson have to remain 'gentlemanly' towards me? Of course not, but his demeanor never changed. I got my camera and accessories two days later, everything in completely working order. I've never been so happy with a phone purchase in my life.

I really shouldn't be telling you all this, as I feel it's a nice little store that I want to keep all to myself! Fact is, for the customer that wishes to call up and order products, Abel Cine Tech is like a Mom & Pop-style diner. You're going to get treated like a person, and not a customer. I realized that I wasn't really shopping for a camera, but rather for trust. I got both trust and a camera at Abel Cine Tech. I highly highly recommend them.
