"Being for first new rig in several years actually and a cash-strapped student, I researched fairly heavily on different comp builders. Not only did I get a nearly top of the line computer for well under a grand (well, sans peripherals which I already had), but also a really solidly built and stable machine. I (fairly heavily) overclocked most parts in it with no problems, even using stock cooling. Customer service was helpful as well - when I had one small conflict in the specs I ordered, they took care of it quickly. This was one of the cheapest (excuse me, inexpensive) sites I found but performs up there with most of those fancy gaming-pc builders in my opinion without the fancy BS and frills to double the price."

"I needed a new video editing computer to work with high definition video. Although AVAdirect does not do turnkey editing systems I was able to configure my own on their website which met my needs with top of the line high performance components that should last for years. AVAdirect was very helpful in assiting me with my order when a soundcard and RAM I had choosen where not compatible with the MB. Although it took several weeks for delivery I understand that this is not like ordering from Dell who maintains an inventory. It is interesting to note that I purchased my first video editing computer from Dell in 1998 and it cost me about $1,600. The computer I had AVAdirect build with the best componets was also about $1,600 with much higher performance, storage, speed and capability.
When the system arrived it was well packed and ready to go. All I had to do was hookup the keyboard, mouse and monitor cables. So far everything has worked great and I have been contacted by AVAdirect twice to see if everything is performing ok. I would definitely recommend them. Just remember it takes a while to build a great performing computer and be patient. AVAdirect has a great on-line tracking system to follow your computer build.

"I almost got a Dell to replace my old computer when its motherboard failed. But so many reviews of terrible service but good machines got me looking for other options.

Researched many custom builders including reading many reviews here about various companies. I did some comparisons and various options. I have 5 22-24" monitors (one on a Y adapter) so need two dual good video cards. I have never played any game but serious business user.

I was at first a bit overwhelmed by the options with AVA. I researched every component and came up with a system I thought was the best.

Than I got in touch with Joe Munder. Extremely helpful and made some other suggestions. I researched and concluded he was absolutely right and took all his recommendations.

Everything was in stock and since I was going out of town for almost two weeks having it arrive within a week of my return was perfect. I had spent days transferring from backups to my laptop (a Dell with very few problems but next time would like at AVS systems).

Everything worked perfect, very securely packed, left open cables so I easily was able to add 2 of my old VelociRaptor 300gig drives from old computer so I now have 3 of the same drive.

Joe could not have been more helpful and although it took a week to reinstall zillions of programs and lots of software headaches all the pre-installed software and WinXP Pro worked fine. Never been able to get IE8 to work on old system but no problem on new (I use Firefox 99% but sometimes have to use IE).

"I had an issue with a red stuck pixel in center screen--really annoying as I bought the laptop as a mobile gaming platform to take on frequent business trips--that red dot never moved and was very easy to see in games. I realize that just one stuck/dead pixel doesn't meet the minimum number to get a replacement, but you guys did take the laptop back after going back and forth with the manufacturer and replaced the screen. You went above and beyond, and I'm more than happy with my new laptop! You guys rock! Now 6 months later, the laptop is still running topnotch! Thanks!"

" I encountered unforeseen difficulties when the 12gb of memory I had purchased for a server project was found to be incompatible upon installation. With an evening of searching the web I found that AVA Direct appeared to have a suitable supply of 2gb modules with the appropriate chip set and orientation. I ordered them poste-haste and they responded in like fashion. Within 16 hrs my order was shipped and on the way. Unfortunately, on-hand supply was not sufficient for my order and two modules were listed as back ordered.
The first shipment arrived in timely fashion well protected against possible damage. All 4 modules were in their original unopened blister packs, surround and taped with copious quantities of bubble wrap, then further protected with additional padding in an oversized carton.
The back order was shipped out and arrived just a few days later. Now all 6 modules are installed and the server has been running 24/7 without any problems.
AVA Direct personnel were right on top of things with respect to messaging, maintaining communication right through to delivery.
I give them high marks all the way around for their professionalism and courtesy and will not hesitate to order from them again should they have something that I require.

"Had a very good experience with Avadirect. Their prices were very competitive and service was excellent. I chose to have my wife call in over the phone to place the order since I was deployed at the time and during the call they let us know that one of the parts we wanted with the computer had been known to have some problems. They then suggested a different brand with the same specifications at the same price. This was very appreciated. After the order was placed, I received an email notifying me of the order. I logged onto the website a few days later and checked out the account that had been set up for me and saw that you could post questions pertaining to your order in one of the sections. I decided to try it out and asked a quick question. The next day checked the account and the question had been answered about 15 minutes after they opened for the day (hours were 10am-6pm ET if i recall correctly).

The order was placed on the 22nd of may and i received my computer on the 9th or thereabouts (I was on leave at the time so it was delivered to my apartment manager instead). When I got back I started to set up the computer and everything was well packaged and in very good condition. A note was attached to the side of the computer with some helpful things pertaining to taking out the packaging and inspecting the parts to make sure nothing was loose. After a few minutes of rearranging my desk area I plugged everything in and the computer booted up without problems. Drivers were installed and fully up to date which was very nice to see.

Overall this has been a very good experience and for the price I paid, the computer is very powerful. Avadirect put together a good computer at a good price with professional and courteous service the whole time. Excellent work!"
