"Horrible communication and return procedures.

Placed order for items on Feb 22, 2011. Items were listed as in stock on the website. Found out a week later that the items were back ordered. No communication on their end to notify of back ordered items. Two weeks later the items were back ordered again for May 25th. Not wanting to wait that long I ordered from another company and received 2 days later.

My experience with calling the company was waiting for over 20+ minutes to speak with someone, who then put me on hold for another 20 minutes, and eventually having my order cancelled. The customer service person told me I would receive an email confirming the cancellation and should receive payment refund within 5-8 business days.

I received the confirmed cancellation notice within 48 hours, but waited 14 days and still no refund. I called the company again and waited the same 20+ minutes to speak with someone. It was confirmed with them my order was cancelled but then was told my refund must have "slipped through the cracks" in accounting. I was told my payment should now be refunded within the next 48 hours.

I wrote this right after getting off the phone with ATG Stores customer service and we'll see if my refund is processed within next 48 hours.

"Absolutely an awful establishment. I recommend to use one of the many other stores available which provide at least decent service. When I placed an order with them online, my order confirmation at the time was fine, but they ended up doubling the order (no I did not click send twice, I've been ordering online for 14 years and never had an ordering problem). The associates I spoke with were quite rude and unhelpful, and of course blamed me and even hung up on me; management did not contact me after I was promised they would (I also e-mailed multiple people in the company without a single response). Now I am stuck with a doubled order (FedEX left it all in front of my door without a signature), and at this point I guess all I can do is dispute the charge with AMEX. Also, I just bought a $300 bookcase from Amazon instead of using ATG stores, so congratulations on the lost business ATG!!! I also need to buy a bed, bed-stands, secretary's desk, and some other furniture, all of which I will not be buying with ATG of course (fool me once and all). Anyway, I hope this review causes possible customers hesitation before ordering with this company."

"I am very dissatisfied with my total experience with ATG. First, they will not let you return or credit samples: I was ordering cabinet door pulls.

Second, they said that they had one of the pulls I ordered (18 pieces)in stock (and maintained that statement next to the item (on their web site) for over the next 2 months while I waited for shipment.) I was given 5 different shipping dates and nothing happened over a two month period. I finally gave up on them.. and I am still waiting for my refund through paypal, it's been over 5 days now. I give them minus 5 stars out of 5 stars. Run away from this company... they are the people that give on-line purchasing a very bad name! If they were on e-bay no one would do business with them.

"No hassle return is one big FAT LIE. By the time I sent stuff back (ordered knobs/pulls for my kitchen), it ended up costing me as much as if I had just eaten the cost of the products. After 8 phone calls to rectify the situation of wehre my returns where, it's still one big mess.

Also, had ordered stuff and wondered where it went. Turns out they sent to the WRONG STATE. What is wrong with these people.

Worst internet buying experience I've ever had.

"BUYER BEWARE of ATG stores!! I wish I had read the reviews before I shopped. I do almost all my home and personal shopping on-line and of the literally thousands of purchases and internet shopping sites I've used, lighting universe (of atg stores) was BY FAR the WORST experience I've had.

I ordered two pendants which turned out to look extremely different than the on-line picture and description. I spoke to a very nice woman (too bad she works for a fraudulent company) who asked me to send a picture of the glass shade I received. She agreed that it looked nothing like the picture and had the manufacturer send me a replacement thinking that the first was a mistake. The replacement arrived and looked just like the first (not just a little different than the picture, very different, and bad...downright ugly!)

At this point I emailed the woman who had been helping me and told her I needed to get a return authorization. I was then told that the "free" shipping I had gotten on the order was going to be subtracted from my refund and that I needed to pay for the return since the product was not defective. (Not "defective" maybe, but not the product I ordered!!)

End of story, I am going to have to pay more for shipping, both directions, than the original cost of one of the lights. The end of this month long hassle and waste of $60 is that I have no lights. This company claims free shipping and no hassle returns. They lie. This company is a catastrophe.

"This is the worst online merchant we have come across on the web. The furniture we ordered was delivered by a shipper who was extremely rude, insisting on sign-off that merchandise was good but unwilling to wait a few minutes for me to open and see the furniture. When I refused to sign-off without inspection, he in the end placed a note on the delivery slip, stating customer acceptance is subject to inspection by the buyer - which has not been done. It was a good things, as when we opened the package a few hours later the sofa was found damaged in several places with broken frame and torn fabric. We took pictures, sent them to ATG immediately and requested in writing that they arrange for a return as soon as possible. That was on June 1. For the next 20 days we chased ATG by email, phone and online chat - unable to get ANY answer on (1) when the set would be picked up (2) when they will issue a refund. The only answer they gave was "we are contacting the manufactures and will inform you when we hear from him". This has gone on for 20 days. Same non-responsiveness and no specific answer despite trying really hard, talking to several different people including manager at ATG (who was more rude). I could never get any commitment from ATG at all to pick up or refund the money. All of this led me to believe that ATG did not want to take the furniture back and would not issue a refund. Hence, after waiting nearly 20 days, I called my credit card company about what I should do. They proposed that I request a hold on the payment to the merchant. Which I did. I still wanted to return the merchandise, however. So when I called again, after not hearing about when the pick up will be done, I was stone walled again. The manager refused to answer any of my questions, stating that ATG will do NOTHING unless I lift the hold on payment. She even refused to talk any further and told me to not contact them again. The message was clear: they were playing tough with me and did not want to commit to taking the merchandise back and issue a refund.

I told them again and again, I do not want to keep their merchandise - please take it back. But I have not succeeded even after investing an enormous amount of time in it.

I was forced to go ahead and buy a different sofa two days ago,, as I need something to sit on in the apartment. My garage is crammed with ATG furniture. I can't even park my car there.

I have never encountered such an online merchant ever. This is the worst merchant - online or otherwise - that I have ever dealt with. I am really angry and deeply disappointed.

"Do not trust the "in stock" markings on items from this seller (or any of the myriad sites ATG operates). They apparently drop ship from manufacturers and have no real idea when something will ship. After ordering a picture light on 2/10, they stated a ship date of 2/22. That was too long, but I decided to live with it. On 2/22 they emailed that shipping would be delayed until 3/5. Now I don't know what to do since there is an eerie consistency in how far apart the notice date and ship date are. Fiction?"

"Not a very professional company. Shipping took longer than expected. I wanted to return the item, and the return form on their website did not work. I had to call and they said that I will have to wait for 2 emails in order to return my item. Additionally, they are charging a 25% restocking fee on a desk lamp (a product that would have no wear and tear) and they warned me that I will have to pay for shipping. The rep on the phone tried to convince me to keep the item or give it as a gift. After ordering, the company has sent me spam from its other websites. The site looks professional at first glance, but they are nowhere near the level of first tier sites such as Amazon in terms of customer service. Will never order from them again."

"I purchased a sectional couch April 18. It took over 6 weeks to get to me being shipped when I was told it would ship to me in 5-7 days. They changed shipping dates 3 times. When I received the couch they only shipped half of it and it was damaged. Now to return to them it has been 3 weeks and I am now told they may not want the couch back and I have to wait until the disposition with the freight company is solved to be refunded. So, I am being punished while they try to figure out who is paying for the couch. I might have to dispose of it and I am disabled. I paid extra to have white glove delivery to inside my home and they expect me to get rid of it when they sent a damaged couch and not the whole thing? This is poor service and I strongly warn others to not buy from this company. If I had rejected the couch on delivery they told me they would charge me 50% of the amount I paid to have it returned. I never had a option of refusing the couch when it came to me damaged and now its 3 wks since receiving it and the problem isn't solved. So I can only say again to you please don't buy from this website. I now have the BBB involved. Hopefully I will have this resolved soon if not I am looking at a lawyer to sue them. Have a good day and I only can say I hope you don't have the same problem I did with buying online."
