"got my orderin a timely manner. however, their tracking options are horrible. i kept getting errors whenever i tried to chyeck my order status. webpage is just not very efficient for the customer. shipping was way too expensive due to the fact that my items shipped from 2 different places althought they did notify of this and did give me the option to cancel my order if i wanted. "

"Great prices and lightning fast shipment.
Since this online store is new I made a phone call first and placed a small order.

Everything went the way it should, and even better:
The merchandise arrived in just 2 days, instead of the expected 5+ days (UPS ground).

"The price/shipping looks great. The best online deal I could find on a tripod dolly.

HOWEVER, at the checkout, they suddenly add a $2 "Processing Fee". Two bucks isn't a big deal. The way they sneak in the "fee" is a big deal and immediately sent up the red flags. I ordered from Global Mart instead.

"I am very displeased with this company. The Website listed a product very clearly as a pair of speakers. The order read pair, The credit card authorization read pair. Only a single speaker shipped. Upon calling the person seemed to be aware of the situation & got very defensive & somewhat rude. All they would do is take it in return. I was forced to buy another speaker elsewhere. They made it clear to me that they are not responsible for the descriptions of the products. It comes from there distributer. Buyer Beware!!"

"I ordered a power inverter from 123av.com because they had the best price on the inverter I wanted. Their interface isn't the most beautiful thing in the world, but I had no trouble placing an order.

123av.com takes the strange step of asking by email for you to authorize any charges to your credit card. This probably helps prevent fraud, and it definitely helps prevent mistakes. Just make sure you respond to the email, because they won't process your order until you do.

I ordered the product on a Monday (the Memorial Day holiday, even!) and requested ground shipping. It arrived four days later, on Friday. If the product you want is in stock it should arrive very quickly.

They only update the stock numbers on their website once per day, in the morning. If you order an item that's extremely popular it might get backordered even if a few items still seemed to be in stock. So take the stock numbers with a grain of salt, or order in the morning when they're updated.

You need to know that this is a completely credible company -- but, yes, their user interface is really crude – but who cares, their prices are what matters most.

What everyone should keep in mind is that you are ordering online, mail order, and delivery does take some time. Even though 123Av can’t exactly report to you “realtime” about your order – all is well none-the-less.

My photography stuff shipped immediately, but of course I couldn’t know that for a couple days because of 123Av’s poor user feedback mechanism, so I worried since this was my first time with 123Av.

But -- a big BUT -- Amazon.com and Buy.com are even a bigger worry -- they don’t tell you anything useful about your order delivery, either.

So, bottom line, 123Av is fine.

"Despite the fact that their website is disorganized, partially nonfunctional and difficult to navigate, I placed an order for three items on October 15, 2002. I immediately received a confirmation e-mail, to which I was required to reply for authorization purposes.

Eleven days later, delivery had not taken place. I called the company's toll-free telephone number, and was informed that two of the three items are backordered. This is ridiculous, as respective quantities of "5" and "210" were displayed at the time of my order. In fact, while the stock status of the former item is no longer listed, the website still lists a quantity of "197" for the latter!

Furthermore, at no point prior to my telephone inquiry was I notified of any delay. (A simple e-mail would have been appreciated.) Also, their website's automated tracking service has returned nothing but error messages.

I must acknowledge that the representative to whom I spoke was polite, and she canceled my order without complaint. She did not, however, offer any apology for my inconvenience.

I don't suspect a deliberate attempt to mislead customers. Rather, this appears to be a case of sheer incompetence.

UPDATE:

Nearly two months later, I received the following e-mail:

"The order that you placed with our company on 10/15/02 had been canceled with our supplier on 10/28/02. For some reason it was shipped on 12/13/02. When it shows up please refuse it and it will be sent back."

Three days later, I arrived at home to find two UPS-delivered boxes on my front porch. One was clearly marked with the name and address of a retailer with whom I had placed an unrelated order a few days earlier, while the other carried the following information on the label:

Upon opening the mysterious package, I found it to contain two of the three items that I had ordered from 123AV.

Had I been informed of the carrier and tracking number, I could have left a suitable note on my front door. Because I wasn't, I had absolutely no means of refusing delivery.

Under federal law, a recipient of unsolicited merchandise may retain or dispose of such goods; they're under absolutely no obligation to the sender. In other words, it seems that I've been sent a couple of gifts.

If 123AV decides to commit an act of fraud by billing my credit card, I'll dispute the charge and report them to the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully, this won't be necessary.

"I ordered two installation parts for my car stereo, and installation kit and a wiring harness. This company had close to the lowest price available, a good price on shipping, and the items arrived in excellent shipping packaging, and quickly. Probably the only quirk about the company is that they require to 'confirm' or authorize your order before they will process it. This is a positive quirk though, as it could prevent unauthorized use of your credit card. All in all, I was VERY pleased with my experience with 123AV."
