"I bought the laser upgrade for the 3018PRO CNC.
I connected all the wiring as per the manual, hooked up power, and immediately the CNC board started to smoke.
I disconnected power, disconnected all the wiring, rechecked the manual, reconnected all the wiring and had the same problem. I went thru 4 iterations of this trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.
I contacted Sainsmart, they asked for pics, I sent pics, and Sainsmart tried to claim I wasn't using their CNC board.
I had to take and send a pic of the board in their own manual to prove it was indeed one of their products.
Then Sainsmart claimed I wired the boards incorrectly. I had to send them a pic of the wording in their own manual to show them how their wording was unclear, if not incorrect compared to what they were telling me in e-mails.
Both the laser and CNC control boards are fried due to their instructions or a manufacturing defect in the laser board and Sainsmart isn't resolving the issue.
I'm out the money for both the CNC and the laser.
I was trying to start a laser etching side-business and not only is that on hold, I have to tell people I can't do their pieces.
I would absolutely not buy any of their products again.
It's also worth noting one of the rails for the 3018PRO was slightly bent. I discovered this when it started making noises on traversing in the X negative direction. I didn't bother contacting Sainsmart as I was able to make it work, but, again, it's worth noting that piece was bent when I received it."
