I ordered a Zino HD from Dell on November 17, 2009 with an expected delivery date of 12/09/09.

Dell canceled and re-entered my order on the day it should have shipped with a new delivery date of 12/23. I call Dell support. After 30 minutes on hold, I am told that the delay is due to a credit card hold and that I have to call my bank. I ask to cancel the order and I get transferred to another department. The new CSR tells me that it had nothing to do with my credit card, but that Dell changed the name of a color and this caused their system to reject my order. He also let me know that the new expected delivery date of 12/23 was not correct and that it should be 12/28.

On 12/24 (the day the order should have shipped) I received another email informing me of another delay. The new expected delivery date is 1/5/10. I called to cancel but Dell was closed for the Holiday, so I emailed my cancellation.

The delays would not have been so frustrating if it were not for the fact that I could have placed another order several weeks after my first order and received the new order weeks before my fist orders estimated delivery. However, doing so would have cost more due to the sale price I received on the original order.

My feeling is that Dell was delaying the low margin orders and filling orders that were not as heavily discounted. Their process should have been first in, first out, but it was clearly not operating that way.

This would have been my first Dell for personal use. It will be my last for both personal and business.

I discovered this retailer online but they are also a brick-and-mortor mom-and-pop business. I drove the 3 hours to see their showroom. I ended up buying from them over the phone on 1/19, and I was lucky enough to have the set delivered on 1/21. All my questions were answered by the owners and they were a pleasure to do business with. Delievered was done by two technicians that did a great job carring the TV up two flights of stairs and they set it up for me. I was very impressed with the whole process and look forward to doing business with them again in the future.

I made two orders with Moontrail. One was on a Friday and the second the following Saturday. I receive automated confirmations for each order. Come Monday, they were intelligent enough to combine the orders into one invoice and ship them as one package the same day. I am very happy with the quality of the service and the products. The website is simple, but they include a lot of information

I purchased a pair of running shirts from Snow Leopard Mountain Sports. After I placed the order I received an email stating that they only had one shirt left in stock in the color I requested and that I could choose another color, accept one shirt, or cancel the order. I accepted the one shirt and my order was quickly shipped out. They only charged my credit card upon shipping my order. Their prices are good and their website has a lot of information.

Hilton's Tent City is a large brick and mortar outdoor retailer located in Boston, MA. I have place several orders with them and have been very pleased. I special ordered two backpacks and the salesperson was knowledgeable and eager to help. Their website is very basic, and you can only expect a sale confirmation email. However, call them on the phone and you can get just about any question answered. Hilton’s Tent City has good prices, great service and shipping has been free.

REI has a great selection and their REI brand gear is of excellent design and quality. They provide order and shipping confirmation with tracking for packages delivered to you. I placed my last order on a Saturday and received it at my East Coast address on Wednesday. Orders delivered to their stores are shipped for free but you lose the ability to track the package. Their website is loaded with useful information on products and activities. They also have a link to shipping information right on the top of the page. It details all the pros and cons of their shipping options.

Campmor stocks a large range of hiking and outdoor sports products. Their prices are very low and their shipping is fast with tracking. Emails are sent for order and ship confirmation. I had to return a sleeping bag that I had cut the tags off and used indoors for one night. They provided me a prompt exchange for a larger bag and credited me the difference. This is a great retailer that I highly recommend.

Deepdiscountdvd has great prices and always free shipping. My DVD collection is continualy expanding thanks to their low prices and large selection. Occasionaly I find a DVD I order is not in stock, but they provide estimated ship by dates. All the back ordered DVDs have shipped before their estimated date. I have never been charged for an item before it has shipped. This has become my sole source of DVD's.

I purchased a hard to find backpack from MPGear.com. They had a great price and fast free shipping via DHL ground with a tracking number. I ordered on the weekend and got the pack on Thursday. The pack arrived just as advertised and well packaged.

I purchase ink for my Canon i960 using inkgrabber/inkjetmaddness. Their ink produces great results and has never leaked or clogged. Their prices are great and shipping is fast. I have had one dealing with their customer service department via email and they were quick to replay and solved the problem without hassle.
