On 02-12-10 I ordered (2) Thermos Nissan 16-Ounce Stainless-Steel Insulated Bottle with Carry Strap for $4.71 each with free shipping from JizBee.com. What a disappointment these turned out to be! Of course for less than $5 each I knew it would be a scam, but you don't know until you try.

It was supposed to be Thermos Nissan brand but of course it was just some knock-off Chinese garbage. It's supposed to hold 16 OZ. - it holds 12 OZ. to overflowing, and only 10 OZ. usable. It's not vacuum insulated at all, just a vessel within a vessel - no insulation at all.

I got what I expected but I will never even look at their website again because they lied so blatantly.


PROS:
Cheap price but it doesn't matter because they misrepresented the product. Shipping was fairly fast, but the thermos's arrived dented up because they were sent in a single padded envelope with no separation between the 2 so they banged together the whole trip.

CONS:
Product not even close to advertised - complete scam. Inadequate packaging resulted in dented thermos's. Customer service ignored my repeated requests for a refund.

I placed an online order for 9 knives on 09-20-09. Nearly all of these items were being sold at very reasonable prices due to a closeout sale, I think. I received an order confirmation by email but it didn't even list what was in my order, or the prices! I fortunately always print out an order summary when I order something. --- I received (part of) my order about 1-1/2 weeks later. The packing slip said: "Back ordered items not listed". I was never informed part of my order was back ordered, plus I was already charged for the whole order on my VISA. If I hadn't saved the order summary printout I made, I wouldn't even know what was back ordered! They didn't even tell me. --- I waited a few days then tried to check my order status online - not possible, no order tracking online. You actually have to contact customer service for this info! I sent an email and was told they would contact purchasing and find out when the backorder was due. 5 days and no word, so I write again. They tell me the knives will ship next week, and they'll upgrade shipping to 2 day. I received my order 9 days later, BUT THEY SHIPPED THE WRONG VERSION OF THE KNIVES. I'm going out of my mind with frustration by now. I requested an RMA and they also agreed to pay for my return shipping. Shipped items 10-22, received at Smoky Mountain 10-27, received refund including my shipping costs 11-08. --- It's really unlikely I'll order again because of the lack of an itemized order notification, no online order tracking, being charged for back-ordered items with no notification, then sending the wrong item. This is how internet commerce was run 10 years ago. These guys need to automate their systems and raise the bar on how they do business. However, I will give a big compliment to their customer service folks in that they were always very friendly and apologetic for the numerous problems I encountered.

I have placed 24 orders with Buy.com and maybe another 6 with Buy through eBay, since 2006. Overall, I have been VERY satisfied with them. They don't ship the fastest in the industry by any stretch but they are comparable to Amazon. I can't gripe when something takes 10 days to deliver if it's being delivered free!

I challenge anybody to find some of the ridiculously low prices that Buy.com charges for some of their items, at any other retailer, B&M or online. I don't know if they are loss leaders or what but I don't see how they even make a profit sometimes. Amazon doesn't even touch some of those prices and they used to be the cheapest.

I had one problem with a printer that arrived damaged (thanks FedEx!). Their return process confused me at first because I thought I would have to file a claim with FedEx for the damage, but Buy sent me a prepaid UPS label and got my replacement to me in about a month from the time I first reported it. That's not very fast but it includes time I delayed in sending the printer, shipping both ways, and processing the damaged return.

Bottom line is I'm a sucker for a great deal and Buy.com has the WAY lowest prices on some things, period.
