I ordered a Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 operating system for my computer (their price $79.99). The disk they sent me looks nothing like what was advertised (it's a much cheaper substitute.) What was advertised was a holograph-ed disk with a green Windows XP cover. What I got was a open, cheap, white, plain CD envelope (the kind you can get even at Wal-mart) containing a plain looking (non-holograph-ed) CD inside. The CD states Service Pack 3 but when I tried to install it, I noticed that it was an older Service Pack 2. The CD was mislabeled. I had to abort my attempt to install.

With the CD was the COA or the code to Authenticate the version and that code appeared to have been pulled off another package and stuck to a piece of paper and mailed with the CD.

The item was shipped fast, but in a padded manila envelope with no other protection to keep the CD from getting bent. For the price I paid for the item, I found their shipping method rather careless.

I have since returned the item (and they've received it via confirmation) asking for a refund and so far they have not refunded my money.

If this review could allow me to do so, I would be happy to provide pictures of the item because I am very serious about this. I was offered an opportunity to review this product by the seller and ironically my review never showed up on their website because I gave them a low rating. DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE HIGH RATINGS for this seller, because looks ARE deceiving. On their website items are rated as either "not rated" or 5 stars--nothing in between. I believe they are skewing their ratings.

I paid for this item through PayPal and have increased my dispute to a claim through Paypal against this seller because I'm already getting resistance for my refund.

I wish I could give a negative rating below zero because this seller deserves it.

UPDATE 6/25/12: The seller's website states that refunds are processed in 3-5 business days. Five days have elapsed and no refund was processed. I grow more concerned every day knowing that I've got a real fight on my hands with this seller to get my money back.

UPDATE 7/03/12: Never received any further contact from the seller regarding my refund. They obviously didn't care about customer service. Called PayPal today; they are giving me my $79.99 back. I am, however, not getting any refund for return shipping as promised by this seller (being it was their error). Also, because what I returned was software, I feel sorry for the next person who probably will get the product I sent back and the code to Authenicate may not work. Ironically, other folks have complained on this site about the codes not working--probably someone else's returned item?
