“I was looking for a pair of Giro biking shoes, and my local dealer had none in stock, and could not order the ones I wanted from Giro, either. Online, many places stocked only odd, super-small or enormous sizes, strange colors, etc. But I found the shoes I wanted on Dreamruns, in the right size and color, and given that they accepted PayPal for payment, decided to take a chance and order from them. I checked Dreamruns out, and saw that they are an independent sporting goods store in Mission Viejo, CA.
The order went through, and shortly thereafter, I received an email from their customer service folks, asking if the PayPal shipping address was correct, as PayPal somehow had omitted one line. I corrected it, and a couple hours later the shoes were shipped and I was sent a tracking number. 2 days later, the package arrived in perfect shape, exactly what I had ordered.
I tend to buy at the local bike stores whenever possible, but I'd certainly not hesitate to order from Dreamruns again! Their price for the Giro shoes was right on the mark as well, as low as any I could find on the Web.
Unresponsive customer service and SLOW SLOW SLOW return system
“ Was going to buy a pair of Ecco shoes on sale, and called Hautelook prior to buying, as the price was .03 under their $100 minimum purchase to qualify for free shipping. They agreed to the free shipping, and sent me an email to that effect - all well and good. It had to be in the form of a shipping "refund," as their online ordering system had no way to render the free shipping at .03 less than the minimum. Their own emails stated the refund would be "processed" in 3-5 days.
Of course, I got charged the shipping, and waited and waited - no refund. I responded to the emails from their customer service dept. - no responses at all to multiple emails from me. Finally, I was able to get someone on their chat line to provide the refund. OK.
The shoes were too large. I used Hautelook's provided system for return shipping at a fee of $6 - OK, reasonable. It took the package some 10 days to get back to them; tracking shows delivered. No refund yet. Went back to the chat line: 7 to 10 MORE days before refund is granted.
What a hassle! Back to Zappos for me. Customer service's lack of response to their own customers indicates they may have a larger problem somewhere. Not worth the bother to order from them again, at least for me.”

PI Manufacturing had them in stock (I verified by email first), and I needed them ASAP, payment by PayPal and shipped to my client. Ordered on a Thursday, client received on Monday. Reasonable Priority Mail shipping charges, very small order.”

“I bought a Smith MIPS cycling helmet, as The House was the only vendor I could find that stocked my size and color preference. I did call them to confirm the helmet was in stock, before placing my order. Free shipping: the box arrived a day ahead of schedule.
Problem: Smith helmet proved to be not adjustable enough to fit me well. After contacting the Smith Optics folks to confirm that the fit was just not going to work for me, I returned it unused to The House, per their online instructions.
Within a week or so of sending it back, The House refunded my credit card charge.
I would not hesitate to order from The House again! ”
“Excellent supplier! I needed a very inexpensive couple of parts for an industrial timer. Global had them in stock, I paid by PayPal, and 2 days later, I had my order! Shipping was very inexpensive, and the parts came shipped in what seemed like a huge box with a lot of padding, given the very small size of the parts.
I'd order from Global again if I needed anything they had in stock! First-rate!”

I ordered a Dell laptop, listed as "Open Box/Like New," and when it arrived, just a few days later, on time, it turned out to be literally indistinguishable from a new machine. It had never been set up, and physically didn't have a mark or scratch on it. Battery performance is as-new, as it should be.
I saved about 25% over a new laptop, so it was a very good deal for me. Blinq sent shipment and tracking notices, and even emailed me a couple weeks later to make sure there were no problems/issues. This is the way to do business on the web!
