"Wanted to share an experience with #TheBowlCompany. There has been a china set my wife has wanted since before we were married so this year for our anniversary I ordered it. Now I am seriously questioning the legitimacy of #TheBowlCompany. I placed an order on 8 July and received an email response the following day with an expected ship date of 18 July. 21 July I email with an inquiry, NO RESPONSE. 22 July I email again, NO RESPONSE. 26 July, I email with NO RESPONSE. I have called 15 times, no answer, only an automated message telling me to email them with my inquiry and they'll get back to me within 1 business day. Tell me, what would you think? Paid a merchant for goods I do not have and have no way to contact the merchant about the order or reimbursement. I contacted the BBB and my credit card company and chalking this up to FRAUD! Thanks @TheBowlCompany for ruining my 9 year anniversary present to my wife."
"Came to The Bowl Company under a friends recommendation. They have a lot of wonderful items. I started small and purchased one or two different tea products. Received them promptly and then started ordering more. I have finally finished by tea service and have been delighted with the products and the quick service. "
"They could improve their packaging for shipping. One of my items broke because the box was damaged and the items were packed in such a way that one item took the brunt of the damage and cracked. But they were quick to send me a replacement and didn't require me to send the damaged item back or pay extra shipping. I just followed the directions on their website and emailed them pictures of the box and the cracked item. It was pretty easy. They also indicate on their website if items are not available and when they expect them to be. You might have to wait a few months for something, but you should know that before placing the order if you look at the product page carefully. On the bright side, they do allow you to use items that are not yet available towards their deep discounts for larger purchases. Many other sellers won't let you add items to your cart if it's not in stock. "
"1. The package was more than a month late. I was not informed until i asked them about it. 2.The items did not come with a retail box. The product page did not say it came without a retail box. I assumed it would. Anyways, a bit tacky to see $50 china in a plastic bag and bubble wrap.3.The biggest gripe that i have is that I paid $20 for gift wrapping that was useless. Surely if I buy 4 of the same item it's normal to think that i would be giving it to 4 different people? I am at a loss to understand the reasoning of taping two items and wrapping the bow around them! So i thought to myself, okay lets cut the bow and at least use the wrapping paper. But I was wrong... they put tape between the two items (and at all 4 corners) which tore the wrapping paper no matter how carefully i peeled it. So, after wasting $20 dollars on the gift wrap service I had to wrap it myself. I emailed them concerning this (with photos included) but I have not heard from them."

"Horrible customer service beware!I was waiting for over 5 months for the completion of an order of china. They shipped out a portion of the order eventually, but I had to continuously ask about the shipment of the rest. They kept promising a ship date, but it kept getting pushed back.Then when I asked for a refund on these backordered items they did not render it.Their communication and customer service has been very frustrating when I have patiently waited many months and now I want my money back on items that I never received."
"I am grateful to have found The Bowl Company online. Because I waited until the last minute, I was doubtful to get anything on time, but I received my order the Monday before Thanksgiving! I worried about breakage of china, but it arrived with no trouble and my table looked beautiful."

"I made an online purchase for two items last week. One of the items, a serving tray from Mariposa, arrived this week. The other item was not included. I was shocked when I opened the packing box to find the actual Mariposa box to be quite damaged. Today, I called The Bowl Company and spoke with Bob in customer service. Bob was condescending at best, and he told me that actual box didn't matter as long as the tray was undamaged. Unfortunately, I purchased this item as a gift but it looks like it has been used or is a re-gifted item. I can actually stick three fingers through the tear on the side of the box. Bob refused to let me speak with his supervisor but did offer me a $10 credit to buy a new box. He also refused to absorb the cost for return shipping so I could send the tray back for a refund. I will never do business with this company again. I wish I had read reviews from others before I placed this order. As a result of this shoddy customer service, I cancelled the remaining portion of my original order. On a side note, Bob was able to describe exactly where the damage was on my box even before I told him. Clearly, this company unloaded their problem onto me."
"My wife and I saw nothing but good reviews, so we ordered and paid for 4 sets of dishes. They even gave a 25% discount (which was good compared to other prices online). A few days later we got an email telling us the dishes were not going to ship for over 2 months. We didn't need the dishes right away, so we patiently waited. Over 2 1/2 months went by and no dishes. I decided to call. A man picked up and said "hi," (I don't even remember him saying, "this is the bowl company"). Anyway, then he said nothing else and waited. Unsure of who I had called, I explained the situation and he said they probably won't get our dishes because the manufacturer discontinued them. I asked for a refund and he said that's fine. So I should be getting a refund (I'm waiting, but it's only been a few business days). Anyway, It made me question this business (specifically when or if they were going to tell us they couldn't deliver on a paid product), so I did a rare thing and wrote a review."
