"This was my first time buying a handgun by mail and I was very apprehensive of the process. I've always bought at local gunshops where I could view the product I was getting to make sure it wasn't blemished or previously mishandled. A quick email to RifleGear and they assured me that their mail order inventory was kept separate from their in store inventory. So I went ahead and ordered the gun that I had been lusting after for so long ... and it just happened to be on sale even though the non sale price was pretty good too! My local FFL dealer was alredy in their system and RifleGear's handling and shipping was expedient. My product arrived in new and unblemished condition, everything present and accounted for, and the gun was still in it's plastic bag well covered in factory oil. The whole process was just too easy and I'll certainly be ordering from RifleGear again!"

"To be brief, order online with CONFIDENCE! This was an online order and I took a long time researching RifleGear prior to buying. Anyone with complaints over standing in line or any other "in-store" issues does not apply to this review unless you are debating whether to pick up locally or order online in which case I can only say to buy online with confidence. My online experience was perfect, but I will repeat that I have never set foot in their store as I live thousands of miles away. Now, if you are still reading I will elaborate. I ordered this product from RifleGear 8 days ago but ordered from the first store over 2 weeks ago. After contacting numerous "out of stock" stores I ordered from a competitor of RifleGear that said the product was in stock. After waiting three days I was notified that the product was actually not in stock, but that they had failed to update their website. I searched and found numerous other retailers that listed the item "in stock" only to find out that the item was out of stock when I got to the cart to finalize my purchase. All of this ordering and waiting and researching took 4 days real time. In fact, I was frustrated enough that when I finally ordered from RifleGear I posted a "pre-review" stating that when I received my product I would write them a review, but not until after. This is the "final" review. My research was based on three criteria; reviews, price point, and trust.1. Reviews: The reviews of RifleGear are mostly positive. From what I have found online this store appears to be rather "large" in that it sells or distributes from a large warehouse and deals with a large volume of customers. The online ordering complaints that I read were primarily complaints that should have been directed at the local shop but were instead directed at RifleGear ($). I have 1st hand knowledge of this so keep reading or look for the "$" signs below. Reviews are interesting to me. You can see (hear) the **** in them whether it is written or spoken. All that I'm going to recommend here is that you take the time actually reading the comments of those who were "treated poorly" very carefully. I feel like I've stood behind all of them in Walmart at sometime in my life. The reviews of online orders versus physical purchases are almost a black and gray difference ($$). Overall, reviews were a positive. 2. Price point: Like most everyone else, I was looking for the best price on my product. The less expensive sites took my money and then told me they didn't have it in stock which required my calling for reimbursement or waiting until they got the product back in stock. So, no. RifleGear did not have the lowest price. Still, they were within 10% of the lowest (this includes all costs including shipping). They were in a group of about 6 shops. Now, to be more specific, the next closest price outside of those shops was around $200 more than I paid. Price point was a HUGE factor and they get a +1 here. 3. Trust: This one is a little trickier. Your requirements for the trust of online merchants my not be what mine is. I read reviews. I checked all of the major gun retailers/auctions, and I called them two times. The first time I called I talked to an associate and asked about an non-associated item. The associate answered satisfactorily so I called about the actual product that evening (after hours) and left my phone number. The return call call was satisfactory. After that I just verified the secure server and placed my order. Ultimately, this is my experience. RifleGear provided a great product at a phenomenal price in less than expected (advertised) time. I'd happily do business with them again. Thanks RG! $: RifleGear says that the average shipping time for my area is 4-5 days. My product arrived in 3 days (per USPS) but I was not notified for another 2 days after its arrival. Finally, I walked in to the retailer and said, "My product is here." They denied it until I showed them the shipping information at which time they went to the back and brought my product out. Not RifleGear's fault. $$: I say "gray" because most of the locals purchasing in-house love this company, but there are a few "Walmart" shoppers who don't like waiting in lines and stuff while there are almost zero complaints from online purchasers. This is, of course, is my opinion gleaned from their posts so I could be mistaken. Contrary to RG being a great business, they may have created a fairly large storefront by being rude to customers and providing zero physical inventory, or (more likely) they could be getting bad reviews from the Drunken Uncle Harold's of the world. Dude hasn't eaten a "good" Thanksgiving turkey in ten years even though he clean three platefuls every holiday. He complains, your mom cries, and then (fat, drunk, and his version of happy) he walks into RifleGear to buy a gun... "
