Very poor customer service
"Company made a mistake. I didn't receive my shipment as a result. Customer service was snarky and unhelpful. Very unprofessional. Disappointing, and frustrating."
This company is a scam
"I wish I could give them a negative star. I ordered their Herrschner's worsted 8 yarn. It is nothing like they advertise. First, the color, raspberry, is depicted both on their website and in their catalog as a mid toned pink. In reality it is the most ugly shade of hot pink I have ever seen. The texture of the yarn feels like sandpaper. They claim that this particular yarn is a yarn weight of 4. It's really more like a 3. I called their customer service line to demand that they give me a full refund including shipping. They refuse to refund the shipping cost. The actual product cost is about $20, the shipping fee was $10. By the time I pay to send it back I wouldn't be getting any kind of refund at all. So now, I am out $30, stuck with 7 skeins of low quality yarn that I can't use. Was planning on using it to make an afghan that I sell at a cost of $100, so really I'm out $100. Will never order anything from this company again and have asked them to stop sending me their catalog. Please, save yourself a lot of trouble and money and never order anything from this company."
Poor Product Quality
"This comment is in reference to item #710269P - Holiday Sequins Yarn. I ordered four skeins of this yarn to use to make Holiday scarves for several friends. I was very disappointed with the quality and color of the yarn. I called Herrshners customer service desk and was advised to return the yarn for a full refund. However, the cost to return the yarn was almost as much as the cost of the yarn itself. Therefore, I did not waste my time and efforts to receive a net refund of about $2.50. I certainly will not be using the yarn and will give it to other friends that might want it. At this point I am not sure if I will order from Herrshners again or not."

Worst Online Company Ever
"I do a lot of online ordering and I think the only time I go into a store is to purchase groceries. Almost everything that comes in to my home is ordered online.I just placed my second order with Herrschners and I should have known better because it is a repeat of my first order with them.It takes them 11 days to process an order until they submit a shipping label. Then it is another 7 days until they deliver the order to the shipping company.Worst company ever and they have seen the last of me. Horrible customer service that gives you the runaround.They charged my credit card the second that my order went through then it is a least a month until I receive my order. This is ridiculous. This happened on my first order with them, as well.If I could give this company a minus star they would get that. Many other online vendors to order from that are super friendly and shipping is fast, but not Herrchners. If you are thinking about putting through an order from them, don't do it! Stay far, far, away, unless you want to be disappointed.I have nothing good to say about this company. They are the worst."
"Recently ordered from this company for first time. They advertise products, confirm your order & then pull product w/o informing you. Basically told me to deal with it. They had no intentions of honoring their side of contract. Contacted customer service which basically blew it all off! They advertised a product, I ordered it, they confirmed it but then pulled it. Supposedly doesn't exist now.False advertising, misrepresentation, poor customer care, etc., etc.Wished i'd read reviews first. They also charge 51% S&H!!Contacting Better Business Bureau next!Do yourself a favor, do NOT order from this company!!Rated -1000!"
"I have decided not order any more pre stamped cross stitch kits. The stamping has been incorrect in 2 kits, I didn't find the errors until the projects were started. Also some threads were missing. They helped me out on one but did not send additional thread which I would have needed to finish the quilt. Does anyone really want to take the chance of being invested in time and money only to find you must begin again. There are plenty if companies on the internet that can provide sewing projects. I'm tired of the frustration and disappointment! "
"I am having a trouble with their non existent customer service AND their misleading website. I paid the $9 extra for rush and they charged my card. Only to print a label to ship it...but did not actually do so. To date; FIVE days later it is still NOT in the hands of UPS as they claim. They are rude, nasty, and downright unprofessional when you call. Almost as if you are a bother to them. We will NOT shop again. Ever. And we will make certain anyone we know does the same."
"I have ordered embroidery merchandise for my mother for several years. I find their customer services is almost non existent. I recently ordered a tablecloth from them based upon info on their web site. The web site was wrong. An oval tablecloth was listed as rectangular. After several calls, they recognized they were mistaken but by then the size tablecloth I wanted was no longer in stock so I reordered another size. I was forced to drive almost 40 miles each way to take the wrong item to UPS for return. They demanded that I enclose the receipt for the shipping of the item which I did. In the interim, the price of the tablecloth went down and I had to ask repeatedly for a refund of the difference. I was promised a check for the difference in price of cloths plus reimbursement of the shipping cost. After over 10 calls to Herrschner's having to put up with rude customer service people, I received the correct tablecloth but not the money I am owed. I will never order from this company again. They constantly spout "that is not the way we do things". Perhaps from this review and the additional reviews I have seen on this site, at some point in the future, hopefully they will learn about customer service. Beware of this company!!!! I will give it one star but really, this company does not even deserve that!"
"When I placed my first order with Herrschners last fall I was a bit disheartened by the slow delivery. I figured it was perhaps a fluke so I decided to try them once again. I placed an order for yarn on Jan. 30th. On Feb. 3 I wanted to see if the order had been shipped because I hadn't heard anything. When I attempted to locate my order number, the website said that it did not exist. I sent an email to customer service telling them my problem. I received a reply stating that the order had been shipped on February 2nd. The order number was the same. On February 6th. I received an email from Herrschners telling me that my order had been sent to the UPS facility on the 5th. This time the order number had changed! The CS rep who had emailed me to inform me my "lost" order had shipped on the 2nd obviously did so just to pass the buck and not deal with the issue. As of today, Feb. 7th, UPS still hasn't received the order. Their service is too slow and not worth wasting my time on. I'll continue to order my yarn and knitting supplies through Amazon.com who ALWAYS ship quickly. Don't bother ordering from these people even if they advertise a great price. Spend a little more and order elsewhere. In the long run it's worth it. "

"Herrschners-I will never buy from them againI also have had nothing but trouble with Herrschners, but the straw that broke my back was when over $200 of merchandise was returned to them in error by the post office and they never gave me credit or would resend the merchandise. So I am out over $200. I called their customer service department numerous times with no satisfaction. So, as far as I am concerned Herrschners stole my money and I will never purchase anything from them again!!!! Buyer beware!!!"
"Order not received nearly one month later. Customer service people ask me to 'wait a few days more'... When I called back a week later, they said to call back on Monday. (They would be happy to take another order, but are unable to credit my Visa for the 'lost' order, 'because it has not been returned to them yet'! No delivery confirmation, yet they want to receive the package back before applying credit! Note to Herrschners President Ted Hesemann: If your customer service people can only say "Call back on Monday", why not replace them with an answering machine?!"
"Horrible customer service! I did not receive my package! I was provided a delivery confirmation # & it CLEARLY states that the package was delivered to my address, but I did not pick it up. I believe the post office put it in the wrong box. Herrshner's supervisor Kathy refused to help saying I needed to call back in 7 more days to give the post office time to deliver the package...HELLO! IT WAS DELIVERED TO THE WRONG BOX OR SOMEONE ELSE WAS GIVEN MY BOX BY MISTAKE! She REFUSED to give me her supervisor's name & told me they would not reship or refund for 7 more days. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! I WILL NOT EVEN RISK ANYMORE $ WITH THESE PEOPLE. My order was $144.26...now I am out that money!"
