"My 12 year old son saved up his money to buy a sleeping bag that was on sale at Campmor. Ordered it and three days later when we hadn't heard anything about shipping I called to find out what was going on. They said "oh it's out of stock you can probably find it somewhere else online". No apology, no attempt to make it right, and I had to call them to find out that the thing I ordered was never coming. #campmorNoMore"
Unbelievably Idiotic Return Policy For a Gifted Item!
"Title above says it all. Wrong size, requested smaller. Not possible w/o GIFTER'S CC number. They requested reorder on my CC#and they would refund her credit card! Which KINDA makes the original premise as a GIFT completely IGNORED. Are these knuckleheads SO effin dense as to not understand. Seriously? Additionally, a return item form on rear of receipt offers half-inch fields to enter two-inch long data specifics. And a plethora of demands with a cryptic illogical stream. Id rather deal with an IRS form.Out of exasperation, just decided to just do a return, with a demand to refund to her credit card. And NO I DID NOT want a refund check mailed to her which was their stated policy for gifts.Finally a guy name Steve with a brain, who 'GOT IT', just sent me a return label. The guy before was a scripted NINNY, even after TWO wasted attempts to make him understand. How do these guys stay in business???"

"After sending multiple emails to their website, I never received a response back. Also, when I needed to return an item and saw that it was delivered a week ago but still no credit card refund, I decide to give them a call and ask why it hasn't been refunded yet. I was met with a miserable sounding lady who was impatient and overall just hostile.And seeing other reviews with similar customer service experiences, I would recommend not buying anything from this company if it means supporting these incredibly rude customer service reps."
Fast shipping but......
"Fast shipping. Great price. But……I ordered a pair of Giro cycling shoes from Campmor on 12/28/15. When I received them on 1/4/16, they were not the same shoes that Campmor had pictured on their site (they showed matte black, I received shiny, black patton shoes). I sent an email to customer service on 1/6/16 and didn't get a response. I called customer service on 1/7/16 and told them the problem. The CSR said he didn't know how that happened because they only sold the matte black version of these shoes. I said that I would be willing to simply swap the shoes if they had my size in the matte black. The CSR said he would get back to me in a couple of hours. Later that day, I received a UPS label to ship them back; I never heard back from the CSR. I shipped the shoes back on 1/8/16, and Campmor received them on 1/12/16. On 1/14/16, I got on their web site and live-chatted with a CSR, asking when I would receive the credit on my card. The person said they were working on 1/11/16 return orders that day, and that they would take care of mine the next day. 5 days later, still no credit. I live-chatted again with a CSR, said that I was told they would process my credit the previous Friday, and they said “It still not processed, we are a bit behind because of the holidays and returns were closed yesterday because of MLK day.” I finally received the credit on my card on 1/24/16, 12 days after they received my return order.I’ve seen that many have commented that Campmor is a small shop. I get that. I’m all for smaller shops. But if you’re going to have an online presence, you need to be able to turn things around faster than this. I doubt that I’ll ever shop here again."
"I don't get all the negative reviews for Campmor. I have ordered from them on several occasions, including an Osprey Atmos 65 pack a couple weeks ago. I have always received my items by the expected delivery date, in perfect condition and exactly as described. I do admit that the box my pack arrived in was re-used and taped up, but the pack was fine. The package only needed to travel about 10 miles to reach me from the warehouse - so I don't know if this package would have held up if it had to travel across the country.Even though I live very close to the retail store, I prefer to shop online; especially when I can get 20% off one item with the current promotion."
"Very prompt, accurate service. We ordered a Kelty Acadia 2 backpacking tent and a Katadyn Vario water filter from the website. Both arrived, new in box within four business days of our order. We had shipping related questions two days after placing the order and called the customer service line to see if they could give us any information. First and most notably, a HUMAN BEING answered the phone within 2 rings. What other major supply company can offer that? The rep was very courteous and informed us that our order was shipping out that day. Two days later, both items arrived on our doorstep. We couldn't be happier with pricing, service and product quality. You definitely won't get Campmor prices at the leading three letter competitor."
"Extremely rude customer service staff ( Lenny)spoke with a man named Lenny about why my package was not at my house since I had ordered two day shipping paid three times as much what the shipping fees were and he was rude disrespectful never apologized and said that when anything is ordered they need a full day to process the order. You also said there are small company and I stated if you're small why can't you get on the ball and put my one item in a box and get it to me in two days like promised.. Do not order from this company they don't care once they get your money! "
"I ordered various items for our camping trip, which ended up being the worst experience ever ordering items online.They said the items would be there within 7 days. I then called them after 3 days, where they said they needed some more information regarding the credit card, which I then provided. 4 days later I then call again really wanting my parcel to be shipped so it would arrive on time. I was the met with the rudest customer service, that proclaimed me as being a criminal and doing criminal behavior for ordering this with my wifes credit card. After spending several hours trying to fix this and them having to call my wife, they finally shipped it. So if you dont mind spending 7-8 hours extra on the order, being called a criminal and the extra week of delivering then they are an excellent place to order from."
"Ordered running sneakers online. When they arrived, they were USED shoes. The soles were dirty, the shoelaces were undone, and the paper packing stuffed in the toe boxes were pulled out and floating in the box. UNBELIEVABLE. DISGUSTING. I will never place an order with Campmor again."
"Tried to order 2 pair of pants which would have put me in the "free shipping" zone. Only one available. I called to see when 2nd pair would arrive since they were charging me for both pairs. IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE! I then said please honor the "free shipping" since you were will to take my order for 2 pair and charge me for both and the reduction to 1 pair puts me only 2 cents less than the required free shipping amount. I was told emphatically by both the "customer service rep and the customer service manage" that they would not waive the shipping fee over 2 cents and the risk of losing the sale, and any future sales from me as a potential customer. TOTAL ABSENCE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE111"

"I made a purchase in June and now I was placed on the mailing list for third party organizations that can rent personal information. I am really careful to get my information bought or rented to third parties, and this was a surprise to me. I tried a test order just now and there is not an opt-in or opt-out box to check for the sharing of personal information with third parties. I called Campmor and I am off the list, but there is no way to dictate this at the time of the order. Not really happy with this policy of Campmor's."
"Bad news. Took almost one week to ship an ''in stock'' item. Shipped items without any packing material in larger box, so items knocked around against each other, arrived scratched up. Not a huge deal - it's being used camping and will be scratched eventually, but if it had been a gift, would have been bad. Not recommended based on this experience."
"Rude customer service. They know that the charge on my credit card was fraudulent and they cancelled the order. But they won't credit back the charge. I will never order from this company."
