Quark Expeditions Bait and Switch

"I purchased some NRS gear from Quark Expeditions through their on-line store. I had been shopping around for a good deal and the pricing offered by Quark Expeditions looked good so I ordered three pairs. The photo of the gear on their website showed new 2017 model gear.

The gear they sent me was inferior 2016 gear that had been discontinued by NRS and can be found at other on-line sites for 30% less. The discontinued NRS gear does not fit well and is difficult to put on. I asked them to replace the gear or refund me the 30% and they declined.

Quark did offer return of the gear; however, this would cost me more money. I live in Canada. Quark is selling Gear from Toronto Canada but charging US currency. Hence, when returning items from Canada to Canada the transactions are subjected to foreign exchange credit card fees. Other costs will be incurred getting the parcel to the post office 30km away.

It was a case of Bait and Switch and I took the bait. Trusting Quark Expeditions was a mistake. I found out that what they offered on their website was misleading. It has been a very disappointing experience doing business with Quark Expeditions.
