Genuinely awful

"Genuinely awful. The website continues to get worse. Today was the last straw.

The Kohls.com website has always been a mess. Searches don't work correctly, bringing up lots of stuff that doesn't match the keywords, promo codes may or may not work, items are priced far higher than competitors so even after promos are applied prices are often higher, descriptions are wrong, the quality of merchandise continues to decline, etc. Despite feedback and multiple complaints over the years, it remains a PITA.

Today, I logged into our account and a message popped up saying there was a special deal on an item in our cart. It showed a pic of the item with a brief description, the new price and the code to be entered to get the deal. OK. I did that but the code is not accepted.

Called customer 'service' (yeah, that must be an inside joke) but they had nothing useful to offer other than a defensive attitude -- a very bad sign when the people who are supposed to help are clueless.

I tried to call the corporate number but it loops back to the same offerings as the toll-free number. I did stay on the line for the 'operator' but guess what? That leads to a dead end. Is Kohl's being run by a high school class? Sorry, that was rude. I mean, to the students; they'd do a better job.

A group of co-workers and I recently discussed how bad Kohls has gotten. I think I'll start a pool to see who can guess the date the company goes out of business.

There are LOTS of better stores with which to do business that make it much easier -- JCP and Macy's to name two.

"My order was processed fast. It was delivered to my house at the right time. The customer service is perfect. Will order here again!"

Gaithersburg, MD store violating Kohl's Corporate policy's

"I placed an order online to pick it up in-store in the Gaithersburg, MD location. When I came to the store, I came to the Customer Service. As in any other Kohl’s store they have big sign in Customer Service showing: ‘Customer Service, Returns and Checkouts’ line to the right and ‘Online Pickup’ line to the left. There was a long line with customers returning merchandises and no one picking up online orders. Salesperson with name ‘Cedric’, told me that I have to stay in the same long line. I point him to the sign separating lines for returning and picking up customers. Even there was two customer service representatives behind the counter, he told me that I have to stay in the same line with returning merchandises. I ask him to call the store manager. He call someone on his intercom, but manager never show up. I ask for manager name, and I was given name ‘Chauncey’ for the store manager at the time I was in store. To me it seems like this store overwriting corporate policies and making their own rules. I will never going to use this store again."
