DANGEROUS LIGHTS

"Purchased 3 lights and after 2 months the heaviest fell down and smashed everywhere as it was glass. It was an expensive product and could have injured someone. They refused to refund and accept the cable quality was poor "

It's a scam
Read my experience below, as well as comments from people who have posted more than one review (and thus avoid false reviews, as if by chance, postitive)

I should have suspected it by ordering:
- The site is full of spelling mistakes,
- the return policy is not clear,
- there is no specific address for the company's headquarters
We still ordered on February 14 (order # 9716553)
Item should be shipped within 5-7 business days.
A few days after this date, having had no news, I restarted the company, which told me that it was normal ... I asked for compensation on the shipping costs that I had paid, which was refused, because I am explained that it was necessary to re-produce the lamp which was out of stock (by reading the other opinions, it is apparently an excuse which is often used). So why is it not written on the site when ordering?
The order was finally shipped on March 11. Finally, I received notification of the shipment from Holland, which does not mean that it was the first place of shipment of the order.
I finally received the package on March 24, and here it confirmed to me that it was a scam:
- There were 2 packages, tied one on the other with tape, to hide the Chinese shipping labels and only show those from Holland (and like all the other notices, "the item was out of stock , we had to bring them from our warehouse in China). During COVID-19, shipping packages from China is not very thoughtful
- More than approximate packaging to "protect" the wall lights
- I'm not even talking to you about the quality of the wall lights ... the plastic ... the rough finishes ...
- No assembly instructions. when I ask, they send me in Chinese… then translated… it looked like a minor had done the work….

When I say that I want to send back the junk, I am asked why but I am not given the return procedure. I finally got it after I was told:
- The shipping costs are my responsibility. Given the size of the package and the place of dispatch, which is not Europe, but China, this must represent at least 50% of the purchase price
- Customs fees are my responsibility. When ordering, the place of shipment was not China, so why should I send them back?
- By reading the articles earlier, even if the articles are returned, the refund is not made

“thank you for your review and we are sorry for your bad experience, our support team has already contacted you to solve your problem and is still waiting for your reply.
We are very sorry for the assembly instructions, and we are willing to send you a video for the instruction if you agree.
In fact, in many pages on our website we have showed our company info in China and nowhere says that we are located in Holland, also, we are not trying to hide the info, you have ordered 2 lamps, that´s why we tied them together, in order to deliver them together.
You didn´t contact us and complain about the quality before, if our lamp is defective or bad quality, pls contact us and send us the pictures of the lamp, after confirmation we will refund the amount, thank you.
FYI: Our return policy may be not so clear before, we have already complete it, namely:
1. We have added our exact return address in China and the explanation for different situations, such as progress for defective/false/incomplete goods(which is for free return and full refund), for undamaged goods, the buyer is responsible for the return freight and should pay the import duty for return, we will arrange partial refund(exclusive shipping freight and used coupon of the order) after we received the goods brand new without damage, and we have also listed the exceptions for not free return to avoid misunderstandings.
2. The delivery address on the package is in Holland, because we will first send the package to our forwarder in Holland to complete the customs clearance, so that you don´t need to pay any additional fees such as import duty. Then our forwarder in Holland will dispatch the package to the individual order.
3. Either for defective or undamaged goods, we will arrange refund according to our return policy, ASAP we received the package, thank you.”

Buyer beware

"I tried to return a product and they refused to give me the returns address for over 3 weeks and I had to email 11 times.
I then got the address and postage was over £80 to return.
They then rejected the delivery and sent it back.

I still don't have my refund over 3 months later

Très déçu produit très mediocre

"Très déçu. Lampe arrivée en mauvaise au niveau des soudures et filetage abîmés. Obligé de faire réparer la lampe neuve. Pas de remboursement car j'ai refusé de payer les frais de retour qui était de 52 euros !!!!! Lampes achetées 139 euros, qui valait 20 tellement la qualité est médiocre. Réfléchissez bien avant de commander, les frais de retour sont chère vers la Chine."

Nice people BAD Customer Service.

"I bought a small digital clock for $65.00, it arrived and I could not set the thing , very poor instructions. And finally when I got the time set, It went out. I was told by the courteous person in cust svs. -- That this is a time saving feature and I should clap to turn it on. I had to clap close and loud. Well this is not good. I scared my poor husband half to death. I wanted a small clock to stay on . So... I could have an 8% discount or I could return to China For $26.00. It was shipped to me from Chino, CA - $6.00. But you can't return there???
The instructions are written so poorly and it was so frustrating. I kept it and have it to remind myself NEVER buy from this company or anyone online unless there is a return policy and also better description of the product. LESSON learned here. I was cheated, bad product. Polite yes Home Lava but you are a bad company to deal with. Shame on you.

Fraudulent practise!

"Loved our light...until it flickered and stopped working 6 months later! Problem with faulty LEDs (we paid our local electrician to change driver but thst was not the issue). Extremely bad customer service - Home Lava offered us 51% reduction on buying a new one although it is still under the so called 1 year guarantee. We argued about the guarantee and were told we would have to send it to them in China at our expense....and they would only accept delivery from specific companies (ie the most expensive ones!). Were also told we would have to pay for them to send it back!
Much correspondence with them to no avail. We don't trust them not to send us another faulty one so have bought the same light elsewhere online. I totally agree with the reviewer who called this a sham company based on lies and deceit. All the good reviews are from people who have not had a problem, or whose problems were to do with faults already found on delivery.
The Home Lava light is in the garage until we get a proper response from Home Lava, otherwise it's going to the dump! I wrote a negative review on Home Lava's website, which they of course did not post - this is adding insult to injury! I don't usually write reviews but this made me so mad and the whole experience left me feeling helpless, even though I am right to expect a guarantee to be honoured.
You have been warned!
Direct quote from Home Lava customer service:-
We will carry out warranty for the product if customers return them for warranty.

The light is still in one year warranty, since the international shipping fee is expensive, we do not recommend return it for warranty.

It's feasible to purchase a new one, and Homelava is glad to provide 51% discount for the new one.

Nice experience

"Honestly, I didn't trust the homelava website at first. They had horrible reviews. My property is in renovation, and I do really like some Homelava products, no similar items found in other stores. I tried to buy 2 curtain panels from them, ordered on March 10th, 22nd arrived, very beautiful. Then, 2 glass pendant lights were ordered, they look much better than what I bought from ebay before, the wires comply with UK standard. Anyway, nice experience, the only complain is that they don't have online chat customer service. Email communication is not so effective beacause of the time difference."

Not UL or FCC listed.

"And they say their lights are.

After seeing the (extremely poor) quality of the light and looking for the UL and FCC markings (there are none) I contacted them and asked for their FCC and UL documentation on the light.

The send me a generic 'certificate of conformity' that they created. Just FYI, this is not official in any way shape or form. When I asked after the actual paperwork from the FCC and UL they stopped responding to me. My only logical conclusion - they are blatantly lying about these approvals.

I've seen these kind of LED ceiling lights before - here in the US they occasionally use them in RVs. The are not suitable for use in a home or business - some insurance companies will refuse a fire related claim if you install non UL listed fixtures and they start a fire (there is a reason they are not UL or FCC approved).

Beware. Be safe.

Highly recommend the seller!

"I wrote a negative review, I thought that the seller deliberately did not answer, but it turned out. that at the weekend they does not work. There was really damage, but the seller replied on Monday right away and offered to replace the faulty part, sent it quickly, now gave repair and t to screw the new one, they said that everything turned out, I'm happy. Of course, initially I made a quick conclusion about the seller, even my husband was against my message, but I would never have done it, if there had been no negative experience with other sellers, unfortunately he is and already treat everyone with great caution. Therefore, I beg your pardon for this respectable seller And I wish him many buyers, t to the goods and the quality is really very good! I would highly recommend the seller! I wrote a review on Sunday, it turns out the seller on weekends does not work, I did not know, I wrote to Saturday - silence, on Sunday - silence, so I wrote what I have.
