They are scamers

"I sold out a hifi audio component, the delivery was perfect the costumer was happy and I was wetting 10 days never received my money. I was searching the way to get any customer service number but it was a nightmare to talk with the agent but when I did it ( she told me I'm so sorry with that but we can sent you a refund bla bla bla, so many words that I can't understood. So I prefer to leave this complaint and this site because it was 101dollars. So I payed one hundred dollars for my ebay's experience. What do you thin? that was cheap jajjajajaj. Thanks ebay I know who you are for one hundred dollars "

Seller on eBay

"Just sold 1 item on EBay. They charged me $126 for that privilege. And they keep my money in their own private accounts on hold for 90 days so 3 months. They earn interest on your money for three months then deduct their fee and give you the change. THE BIGGEST THIEVES EVER.
How dare they and why is no one speaking out about it. 20 years Ive been a member with them. Shame on you EBay shame on you

Counterfeit Automotive Parts

"The nations #1 online source for buying and selling counterfeit automotive parts listed and sold as genuine. No other online company even comes close to eBay in this department. They invite fraud with open arms."

On vinly specifically they are too lienant on sellers. 100 % rating, doesn't mean they won't scam you and/or lie.

"I had a 20 year + account for years. I got mad when they stopped taking calls and canceled. I was supposed to 60 days to change my mind, but without an account, you can't contact them. So my 20! (22-25) year account was closed, and past recoverable, when I finally opened a new one. The new one is 2-3 years or something. I started getting frustrated when I finally got through to them, and they answered with thanks for having an account with us for 2 years...@#*!

Anyway, I started buying vinyl. It didn't go well. First, the seller ratings never made sense. 98 percent with lots sold, was always bad., 99 questionable, but now, I found that sellers could and did have legitimate negative reviews removed. They want us to leave reviews, but not bad ones....without going out of our way to correct a seller's negligent or misleading listing. It's amazing to me. "have you tried contacting the seller" F*@#! No. If their listing was inaccurate/misleading (always seems to happen in the seller's favor), I'm supposed to take the time to message, package and return (post office line), then leave a positive review...????? Are you kidding me? If it's something I can't find out for sure, in a minute, then I've already done more than the seller did, or they intentionally mislead me.

Sellers. Take time to do accurate listings and not commit intentional fraud, or create an unintentionally fraudulent, or misleading, listing. Save everyone time, and do a complete and accurate listing. I send messages when time, if it's not cheap, and double check before I order it. This letting sellers get away with fraud is too much for any-site. I caught a guy on another site finally admitting to fraud, unintentionally, but he knew I caught him. I had ask him to verify his pressing was the '6x not 2009, the 60s one was what he had specifically listed. He tried to tell me, it's sealed and the information is the same; Of course that's crazy, you can tell with a pic, which I asked for, because even if older ones aren't yellowed, the sleeves were different, now they are flat paint like a six-pack of (whatever). Back then, folds, glue etc. He argued and argued, but finally said that he said it wasn't a 60s album, when that was contrary to every other message and the listing!

I need to see, but I think he's still on the platform, even after being caught committing fraud. (the illegal, intentional kind)

I left a negative for a guy that said it was factory sealed but had a 5-inch tear. He assured me it hadn't been opened. It was fully open. 12 inches, like someone cut it, the way I cut a factory sealed album when possible and obviously had flaws. Before me he had 100%, it's crazy. It was also not mint or nm, as there were obvious defects.

Sellers expect us to do more work than they do? We are not the responsible party here, period! Accurate listing, equals satisfied buyer! Not let's make a deal because, I lied, or don't have time to accurately list what I get. (the latter is super crazy to me). They expect me to waste my time, and not leave a negative? I feel that I have to warn people, so I will leave a negative. It's a responsibility, to me. I don't have a store, or make a living, or "gig" with ebay. I've sold like 3–4 things in ~ 25 years, and I have tried to be as accurate as possible. I know, there are bad buyers too, but that's just another reason for sellers to be accurate and take good pics. From my understanding, selling clothes is really tough. I can see that, but I don't do that with eBay, so it's outside my purview.

Forget about used records. Ebay allows grading terms, but without defining them, except Mint/NM the rest from EX(not mentioned),VG+,VG all get lumped together,VG+ all then?. I had a seller sell me a record with two long, audible scratches as mint. Grading systems like the de-facto industry standard Gold Mine work, if used, and leave very little ambiguity at higher levels M-VG+ (even VG, is fairly well-defined). No huge subjectivity, if any, required! I don't know much beyond that, because I don't want any record below that. Ebay has said they "trust their sellers" to be good, but they haven't defined good... Good sellers that want to use Gold Mine have told me in forums they left ebay because they can't compete with people grading so high (falsely).

I know now, eBay is also charging a lot more than ever. Well, it's a monopoly, one of many in differing industries. Yes, there are other auction sites, but not one is a real competitor to eBay, in market share. Ebay cares about eBay. Some of the people answering the phones are nice, but they can't do anything with the systemic problems. (e.g. 100% should be a saint or a new seller, a bad rating shouldn't be 98%, using grading standard terms, without a grading standard means nothing (might as well be 1-10, 1-100) all subjective and guesswork that dishonest sellers thrive in, buyers shouldn't be pushed into working it out if the issue was the description vs what you ge

eBay's Refusal to Block International Buyers - Harassment by International Buyers.

"I have been selling on eBay for nearly 25 years.

During 2023 I saw a sudden influx of international buyers attempting to buy my items and bidding on my items.

I do not sell to international buyers due to the added risk.

All my listing state in more place that I do not allow international buyers, buying agents, freight forwarding addresses or gift addresses.

I am not part of eBay's International Shipping Program.

I have all countries blocked except for the U.S.

eBay preferences only block shipping addresses in foreign countries and not the actual country where the buyer lives. This allows foreign buyers to hire a freight forwarding company in the U.S. to reship their item to them. They simply use the U.S. address of the freight forwarding company to but the item.

All of these buyers are ignoring the multiple warnings in the listing not to attempt to buy the item. The short description area just below the title even states they are not allowed to buy the item.

This means I now have to check the account of any buyers to see if its registered to another country.

Checking the buyer's account does not always work, such as foreign owned eBay buying agent renting a suite in the U.S., which will show the account was registered in the U.S. even though its actually a foreign company. In that case I have to check the shipping address to see it its for a freight forwarder. If it is I then have to cancel the sales, relist the item and block the buyer.

It got to a point where I was wasting hours each week doing nothing more than dealing with international buyers who are allowed to buy my items.

I was unable to sell some higher end items at all as they were continually purchased by international buyers. After an item has been sold and relisted multiple times I then receive messages from legit buyers asking if there is something wrong with the item, thus lowering its perceived value.

eBay is hoping to fool sellers into thinking these buyers are from the U.S. and that the item will be shipped out so they earn their commission.

eBay makes false statement of how the seller is protected by eBay Seller Protection once the item reaches the freight forwarder. That is a lie as the buyer can file a claim with their credit card company, payment processor or bank. This claim can be base don any lie they want to make up such as they got an empty box or they got something else that what they purchased. This process is entirely outside of eBay's control. Any claims will be automatically approved by the buyer's choice of payment provider and then rubber stamped by eBay.

I've suspended all selling on eBay as eBay shows a callous disregard for its users.

I make the terms of the sale - not buyers!

EBAY for sellers : WARNING. This selling site not for the faint of heart.

"I have been on the eBay platform for more than 16 years and have a 100% satisfaction rating as seller (and buyer).

On a recent clearly false return request by a buyer, I was totally surprised by the difficult loops I had to jump through to get eBay on my side and to agree with my standpoint. After numerous and strenuous email messages, I finally was put in the right and all related expenses to this “sale” were reinstated on my account.

This whole procedure definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. The criticism one can read on several social media stating that eBay always (at first) side with the buyer is an understatement. They hardly open a case in favor of their sellers. I did not know but know now! Furthermore, eBay controls completely how and when they will perform a payout to you, the seller. They keep your banking details as a hostage. You cannot close your seller’s account since you cannot remove your bankdetails from it - without eBay’s approval.

This entire ordeal was very scary for me. I felt totally helpless and at the mercy of big eBay!
Luckily, it turned out OK for me. I intend not to go through such trauma again. I am moving my items to other selling sites.

ebay is screwing the sellers

"i've sold a pair of boots on ebay, the seller made a dispute on the pretence that the size was wrong and asked for a return. 5 months later i don't have neither the boots nore the money even though ebay stoped 30 euros more from the account for the return expences. During this period i've tried all the steps required by ebay with the answer being the same all the time"the resolution was closed in favour of the buyer". so now im being fu..ed by the buyer with the help of ebay."

eBay has gone downhill big time

"As many people have said, eBay has got worse and worse. The selling fees are so expensive, it's not worth selling on the platform. Disputes are never settled fairly, buyers keep clicking buy now and then don't follow through with a purchase, with no repercussions. If you tick boxes on your listing such as buyer is responsible for return of item, this means nothing to eBay during a dispute. (why have the option if it means nothing) I have been a member for many years but i am done with it now. Facebook market place works really well and even Biddspotter has auctioneers that charge much less eBay. There are many better platforms out there. I recommend avoiding selling on eBay."

I would give zero rating if it was possible, ebay disappointed me big time. I can’t believe that such a big company can be so unprofessional

"Such a disappointment, I created an ebay account to sell my item. I listed my first item for the first time and next day they suspended my account permanently. I am still wondering why? What did i do wrong. I called the customer service and she hung phone on me by saying that, “we don’t tell any reason, you are blocked permanently from buying and selling “. It was so frustrating that you don’t even know what you did wrong. Amazon is much better that they always try to work with you and if they don’t like your listing for any reason, they just remove that listing, not suspend you permanently and kick you without letting you know anything about. Please stay away from ebay. It’s completely scam. "

Thieves and scams

"I sold an item that costed £22.90, fare enough I was charged £3.23 on fees, but was given only £3.29 instead of £19.67, when I asked them about that after many cut calls without explanation, I was then told that they charged me more fees, thieves. "

I would give a 0 rating if possible

"I have been an Ebay user for years, buying and selling. I had a high seller rating, and purchased form a lot of great seller. Ebay at some point had lost all my information and I had to start back from zero, Ok so I will just build it back. In 2015 redid my account, not so much to start selling, but to buy things. With that being said, since then I have had a spinal cord injury and became a quadriplegic and it has taken me awhile to get back to doing things. This past week I started selling again, because I'm on a very limited income. I made a couple of sales, but they would not release the funds because they didn't show any past history, because they had wiped out my prier account. Long story short, I need the funds to be able to pay shipping, and they won't release the fund to me so I can ship. Even though the lost all my older information about being an A+ seller. Ebay has had other issues, but im done, plenty of other platforms to use online to sell, that a definitely more enjoyable and less headaches."

eBay robbing f£#@ers

"I have been using eBay for over 16 years.
I haven't sold anything for a while but I had some stuff I wasn't using so I put it on eBay.
They took £21.98 from my bank account for the listing, the item then sold for £560 plus £10
postage. I checked my payments on eBay they had taken a further £76 off, so I contacted eBay and spoke to a lovely lady polite and professional who told me that was right.
Have the heads of eBay lost their f@£&ing minds 15% charge to sell on eBay.
I'll never ever use eBay again

Ebay sides with fraudulent buyer

"eBay doesn’t look into details of transactions but allows the lying buyer to get his money despite my policy “no returns”
I’m still waiting for the return of the item and money, which eBay put on hold for weeks. I have been with eBay since 2007 and have positive reviews from 900customers .
