Maybe a good anti-virus. Incompatible with some software

"This might good to use with generic Windows programs, but it blocks the function of a small CNC program I need for my business.

I have to uninstall Bitdefender in order to uses my software. Bitdefender is a known issue with the software company, but they have no solution, the ball is in Bitdenfenders court.

I have given them the link to download the small program and find out what the problem is on one of their computers which they could do in under five minutes. But since this solution is not programmed into their robots they are unable to act. I've wasted hours with them.

It is impossible to contact a human being to resolve the issue. All inquires are handled by robots that scan your emails for keywords and then send out some kind of canned solution email supposedly from some real person.
These suggestions are totally useless and not related to the problem. The bots are not capable of addressing a particular situation in order to resolve it.

My suggestion would be that if you have any kind of technical problem that cannot be immediately resolved, get your money back and find another product. Bitdefender will never resolve your issue.

BitDefender customer service/support takes down great product

"Bitdefender is good antivirus software. However, trying to even contact them for support is next to impossible. For me, a big part of software is being able to contact a human being if I need help. At this time I cannot contact them. I cannot even turn on the virus active threat control or intrusion detection. Yesterday the firewall would not turn on.

They keep up websites that are no longer active and demand you prove you bought the product before you can even write to them - if you can find the email address. The passwords/ID to their forum, that I created and set a day or 2 ago are unrecognized.

If you click on tech assist you are taken to a website where you can only buy more bitdefender software. Clicking on support takes you to articles containing very general information - no human help at all.

As far as invoice/order number - I'm adding my Bitdefender Total Security Multidevice 2015 info below. The info for my BD total Security FAMILY PACK 2016 product with 238 days left cannot be found.

"Bitdefender has the absolute worst customer support of any merchant, PERIOD! My last support request is unresolved after 7 (seven) days! This is totally not acceptable! I switched from Avast to Bitdefender based on recommendations posted by a couple of computer technical sites. Big mistake! Their user interface is unintelligible, their FAQ web site puts you in a round-robin loop and never offers a solution. Thank goodness I still had a few months left on my current anti-virus program and I switched back. I requested a refund since it has been less than 30 days so we'll see how that goes. "

"I ordered Bitdefender Antivirus 2015 from a US reseller. A problem with activation code was solved by Bitdefender (not by reseller) in less than 24 hours after contact to Bitdefender Support.
The program runs very seamlesly under Win8.1 and Win7.
Easy setuo and administration.
Ratings says it is the best right now
Bitdefender support is absolute top class

"Warning
Be careful of the length of time on future contracts
We purchased a two year extension but changed types of computers after a few months switched to an Apple
Advised by a senior computer specialist that the program is not needed
Tried to cancle and requested a refund since the program was never installed on the new computer
Result cancelled No refund after 30 days No exceptions

"Just over a year ago, for reasons which I can’t now recall, I changed my Antivirus supplier to BitDefender.
Last month I went through the renewal process with BitDefender, which I found to be clunky and seriously over-complicated. I now find that this renewal was processed through Avangate, who have taken AU$160 in two invoices from my Paypal account for a product which should have cost around AU$60.
When I tried to query this with Avangate, they said that this was not their problem and that I should contact BitDefender. I pointed out that since Avangate have taken my money, my contract is with them, but they refused to address this point and when I eventually asked for the contact details for their legal department, simply repeated their stock answer about contacting BitDefender.
I have contacted BitDefender and, somewhat predictably, have received no reply at all.
Think very carefully before doing business with either of these two companies.

"Not worth it at any cost!! Long time Bitdefender user. All was good for the first 3-4 years then a couple years ago, Internet Security 10 started shutting down for no reason. Submitted a ticket and the first several times, tech supports solution was to reinstall. Then they sent me a zip file that I had to change the ext on then run. Well, couldn't run it because Vista said it was a virus. Checked BD's forum and found out they've known about the problem for over a year. They pretty much just kept saying, it would be solve with IS 11. IS 11 finally comes out, but it slowed my computer so much and took up so much mem and cpu space that my computer barely ran. Finally just deleted BD and wasted the $100+ I spent on a 3 yr license. Tech support was worse than useless. "

"I replaced McAfee with BD2010/2011. It ran beautifully for about 1 month then WHAM!! Multiple, continued problems from then on.
When 2011 vewrsion came out I was told to upgrade and all my problems would disappera. NOT SO!! It was worse.
Non toll free number for Tech Supprort was useless!! Email Tech Suport equally useless. Computer crashes, deletion of programs BD2011 found obtrusive was unbelievable.
Asked for a refund and no answer from Hermanstreet.com the provider. Over 100 Tech Support trouble tickets and Tech Support couldNOT fix 1 problem.
I transferred the 2011 directly onto a brand new computer and problems still existed!!
Worse antivirus program ever used!! Went back to NAV.
If BD2010/2011 would work as described it would be wonderful!! The "Privacy>Cookie" control, when working correctly is the best but problems were many and everyday, usually upon an "Update".
Save your money and frustration!!

"Over the years I have used many anti virus programmes including Norton and Mcaffe also a number of Freeware services, none of them have been as easy to use or as good as Bit Defender Internet Security Service, I would say for peace of mind, Buy It, Edward J Deith, U.K"
