"I spent the extra for 'selective migration', but the software won't even let you see your C drive folders...it's all or nothing. Other drives get re-named to oddball designation - ie. somehow I now had an "X" drive, but since I can't look into that drive, I don't know which actual drive it refers to.
No smarts for installed programs. It wants to bring EVERY update since the dawn of time, so it will copy over every .net file, etc, even if they are years old and redundant. A big part of why I migrated to a new PC was the opportunity to clean up installed programs that have too much baggage. No chance with this software.
Mostly though - I contacted them SAME DAY as I bought the software and tried to do these transfers, and noted that I did not actually transfer anything whatsoever via their software. I also provided a screen-cap video of the issues. No response whatsoever, and no refund as per my request."
"Stay away from this product. It is a huge waste of time and will not work if you don't have ethernet ports on your laptops. In their ads, they say it will work with a WiFi connection, but when you attempt to do that, they give a warning that it probably won't work over WiFi and they recommend against it.
Additionally, they make it impossible to get a refund. $131.00 flushed down the toilet."

"Saw an add for using it with a .TIB file from Acronis. Turns out that Zinstall can't even see a .TIBX which is Acronis 2020 file format. So much for transferring programs and licenses across computers. Files are trivial. It's the licenses that need to come over.
Also, what started out as $99 turned out to be $160 for a single license key. The refund process is not easy either. Definitely scammy.

"Bought to transfer everything including programs from my old laptop to a new one. First issue is that neither of my high dollar laptops have Ethernet ports. NO you cannot use USB with a Ethernet adapter. They suggested doing the transfer via the internet. Woops! Your old computer will not connect with the new one! Spent half a day in chat with nothing resolved. I had bought the do it yourself version for $119.00. I bit the bullet and gave them another $83.00 for their tech support to install the transfer. Had to change network adapters as there were some issues going off line while they were attempting to connect. Once that was resolved to work with their program as I had never had an issue with connections on the internet. I just happened to have a USB data adapter handy. So off to bed to wait the "Six to Ten hour wait " for the transfer.

Next moring I was supprised to see that the transfer was complete! Whoo Hoo! Well everything looked like it was there! My main concern was Microsoft office. Tried to open an excel file but found out it wanted the old license number. It was from Office 2013. That was five years ago! So tech support came to my aid but to NO AVAL. It did transfer the programs and files but did not mean they would function as they did on the old laptop. They offered to wipe all the transfer and give me a refund but I did not feel safe working with them going forward and did not want them to have anymore access to my computers. Transfer your files youself and buy another Office program you will be ahead dollars."
