"I was searching for a Ohio History tutor and I happened to land on to a page that was created by this business when we click on the tutor it goes to Wyzant site. Next i entered my payment details and started using the Platform.
After so many conversations with the tutors the tutor who i found to do my assignment got locked out of the system and i was sent an email informing that the tutor is no more listed in the site. Next landed on to a tutor who cannot even barely take to the microphone and explain the questions. He was supposedly a retired Teacher. Who knows only the Wyzant tutor approval group knows what they by just reading few paragraphs about the tutor profile submission without any transcript checks. Horrible site. Next after 3 weeks my account was closed saying I am not a suitable Customer. "
"Wyzant allows dishonest students to scam the system, and most likely it is their business model. A lazy student booked one lesson (one hour) and when it began, he wanted me to do all the work for him and just send it back. I refused. He would only text over the Wyzant platform, refusing to talk over the video. (This was St. Patty's Day, so you can figure out why he was unable to speak!) I did the best I could, commenting and suggesting corrections on his paper, and there were many, many errors. Even after spending several unpaid minutes to help him out after he said he couldn't afford another hour, he gave me a one-star rating. Why? Because Wyzant guarantees the first hour free if you're unhappy with a new tutor. Wyzant refused to expunge the rating based on a violation of the plagiarism rules: the fact that he asked me to rewrite his paper. But it didn't matter whether I complied with the plagiarism or not. The scam was the free hour. His plan was to get as much as he could out of the tutor and claim dissatisfaction, receiving a free lesson. This is why he booked only one hour. Wyzant gave me one option: delete the lesson and return the money. I closed my account rather than have a repeat of this debacle. (A friend signed on and his first student was also a scammer.) I believe someone, maybe Wyzant is flooding many of these business review websites with 5-star ratings. I notice the writing style is similar to many of them. I wondered how many lessons I would have to delete to keep a good rating, and how much money would have to be returned to Wyzant. Plagiarists may be Wyzant's market! I saw several other offers by students whose papers were late. You can be sure they were looking for a free ride. I have a BA in literature and writing, but most importantly, I have integrity. "
