"I looked at a product on their website (BIG MISTAKE), never made an account. I immediately started getting daily emails from them. Like others, I used the "Unsubscribe" button no less than 6 times over several, and even called them, where they assured me it would be taken care of immediately. Nope. Why would I buy from a company that simply harasses me on a daily basis? What a stupid business plan.

don't buy a "Reserve Now" item

"I purchased an acoustic guitar, nothing fancy, but it's been over a month and the last 2 weeks i've been told it will ship next week. All they do is move-out the ship date on the order when that date approaches. I had never ordered from this place before but did so because of the 15% offer they had going on and I felt comfortable since they are under the Guitar Center umbrella, similar to Musicians Friend. It's just interesting that both GC and MF have had the item in stock from day 1 but this company has really no clue of when it will be available to them. So I contacted GC and they matched the discounted price and just went ahead and cancelled the order with WWBW."

Rip off on the shipment.

"paid for next day shipping as this was urgent.
The email I received says Friday afternoon or Saturday shipping may be delayed.
Received an email saying the item was shipped on Friday morning!

Tracking showed Tuesday delivery!!!

emailed customer service to complain, and of course no response.
"Great" customer service.

NO! I will not recommend this store to anyone.

Misleading

"Bullet Stratocaster HSS Elecrtric Guitar with tremolo on sale for $129.99. Site says they are on back order but if you reserve now, you will not be charged until item ships and ship date is 06/02/2020. I reserved the guitar on 05/23/2020. I was charged immediately, gave them 4 days to send me an e mail confirming a ship date. I never received one, so I called. I was told the ship date wouldn't be until late June (06/23/2020 ish) and that I was charged because I used PayPal. I pointed out that nowhere is it stated during check out that if I use PayPal instead of my card numbers, the circumstances would be different. That is very misleading. You say I won't be charged, I'm charged. I was told via email from customer service the day I placed the order that it would ship on June 2nd, that was a lie and the only reason I found out was because I called. I'll give them 2 stars for issuing my refund immediately, obviously still pending. Guitar center is trying the same scam. The same guitar is on their website, same price also for back order. I called before reserving and was told they are completely sold out of the guitar and will not be receiving any more. As of today, 4 days after speaking to them, the strat is STILL available for purchase even though they have none. But they'll still take your money... This is my first experience with woodwind and brasswind and I believe they purposely don't disclaim during checkout that if you use papypal you'll be charged immediately because they know it will discourage people from paying for something they don't know when they'll receive. I canceled my order because I'm not waiting a month when I was told it'd only be a week, I'll purchase another guitar and have it much much sooner."

False information, borderline fraud.

"They are refusing to release my order to ship. I purchased a Yamaha Montage 8, a pedal and stand, on 2/24/2020 using a split payment between my Synchrony card that I opened with them, and the rest of the balance on another card. My order information/tracking doesn't even show up when I go to the website to see my order status. It says "order does not exist." Multiple calls between customer service and they say they are waiting for an "email verification from Synchrony" to release the order. I called synchrony and spoke to SIX different reps from different departments, including fraud, and a merchant specialist supervisor, and all of them stated that I do not have a hold on my account, and that they do not send emails to verify accounts to their merchants. I even had done two 3 way calls between synchrony and wwbw to no avail. I was transfered to wwbw's verifications department and spoke to two different people who gave me two different stories of what is happening. Synchrony says wwbw's verification policy with them is not accurate or true. Also, synchrony immediately released the funds to wwbw to pay for my order. Isn't that verification enough? Wwbw website states that a verification process of up to 24 hours may be enacted to prevent fraud. Sure, I have no issue with that policy. But not 4 days. A wwbw customer service rep even said to me that one guy has been waiting 3 weeks for a verification before his saxophone will be released to ship! I have been calling everyday for an update and still nothing. I think the truth is that my order is out of stock and back ordered and they are refusing to state that information accurately as a way to take funds immediately from the customer. When an order is backdated, they do not take funds until item ships. Whatever is going on, it's borderline fraud. At this rate, I'll be making my first monthly payment to Synchrony without having my gear! "

Buyer beware!

"I've made numerous purchases from them over many years with great service but this time was horrible. We purchased a marimba for our son. They had a sale advertised on their homepage with 20% off and free shipping. There were no asterisks or disclaimers but they told us it didn't apply to our purchase and that there was a disclaimer. When we proved them wrong they simply argued and basically insulted our intelligence. They finally gave us a reasonable enough price and when purchasing it couldn't get the tax right. They kept trying to charge an extra 2% after not fully honoring their other incentives. To top things off when they sent me a link to leave a review and I left one. However they eliminated the part of the review that stated the above issues but left the instrument review. The sales people seem to be trained to handle these issues as they had excuses on the tip of their tongue. The manager I talked to was no better and they have yet to rectify their website and the stated issues. I am done with this company! Buyer beware!"

Never ever buy product with them. Pathetic service.

"Never ever buy product with them. Pathetic customer service. First they sent defective product and I have asked for replacement. They asked me to absorb all the return cost and that was around 46% of total cost.

I suggest not to purchase any product from them and don’t even look for discount and free shipping they are offering. It will even cost you more and trapped like me.

If you don't NEED the item

"Placed an order Friday at 1042 am. They say it wasn't until Monday though my bank charges and the internet receipt say otherwise. Most companies where the items are in stock gather the order and once your cards been charged they ship the item. Not this company. Gabriella and Glorianna will be perfectly happy to tell you you're not reading the orders OR your bank statement correctly . This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. They are unprofessional , rude, belittling , crass , inept , etc. If I were you, I would find a company that actually WANTS your business because a guitar (gig) bag and some guitar pics are apparently beyond their ability to ship in a timely manor. "

Smash and Dent

" I purchased a Guitar case listed as a Scratch and Dent".
There were no scratches or dents---It looked like the case had been dropped 20-30 feet and landed on one end.The lower 1/3 had to be reglued.
If I had read their reviews I would have been aware that this is a company to AVOID.

Waste of time and money

"Ordered a upright bass to be delivered and had no idea it was being out sourced from a 3rd party company who had no idea where my bass was and how I can track it! After several days of emailing I got some tracking info and still couldn’t get a straight answer from their delivery carrier that they use. L and R fright then out sourced my delivery to a New York department for deliveries and still have not delivered my bass and I needed it specifically for this weekend. Shame that I did business with these unprofessional people. They even called me up today to tell me they would be able to expedite to me today from warehouse in Queens but it would cost them to must and my inconvenience doesn’t matter to them and they just had to tell me it is possible but not going to happen because of the cost to them. So why even make me thing is possible??? Unprofessional scam artists! I will be disputing charges as well as contacting the BBB. "

A new low for customer service

"The Woodwind and Brasswind has left me wondering how they're still operating as a profitable business.

Two weeks after the shipping date provided by my "Account Manager" has passed, each request for an update on the status either goes unanswered or is met with a seemingly random shipping date.

Only after insisting on further details was I given a line about a "planner" being needed to provide more detail. Supposedly, this planner was contacted and I'm left holding my breath until someone decides to contact. I have my doubts since literally every other request that I've made via email, website contact form, and telephone message has gone unanswered.

The lack of customer service and unanswered information requests is the basis for my review.

WWBW Rocks!

"Woodwind & Brasswind was a fantastic experience. I was referred by my mother who had ordered before and had a great experience. They are the cheapest in instrument supplies and parts, I couldn’t even beat the prices by eBay. They even out beat the prices at my local shops nearby. The website is easy to navigate and easy to search for exactly what you need, especially for those parts you don’t know the sophisticated names of. I ordered my items and was able to apply a coupon I found on google making it even more affordable. I was amazed how fast the items were shipped to me. All items were packaged to keep from damage during shipping. All items were brand new in original retail packaging like you would get off the shelf at a instrument repair store. I don’t have one complaint. I am am not endorsed or an associate of the company just a happy parent providing my children with premium items at an affordable price. "

Horrible-why sell something if you have no way to get a hold of the product to ship?!?!

"Ordered a tenor sax for my 14 year old for Christmas on 11-2017. It's been backordered twice, it's now 12-14-17. I called WWBW, it's backordered until 1-2-18. The person I spoke to said my credit card hadn't been charged yet for the purchase, like that was some sort of consolation. Don't offer something for sale, unless you can actually follow through. I will never deal with this company again, and will make it a point to let the music community know what a sham this place is. I told the person if I get another backorder notice, I will cancel my order. He didn't seem concerned. I think his name was Matt, although I do realize he is not personally responsible for this, this is an incredible disappoinment. I think my son was hoping to play tenor for the spring jazz concert, instead of alto. UPDATE: it is now 12-23-17, received another e-mail stating that it is now backordered AGAIN, and they will ship it when they get it in the next 30 days. That pushes it out to potentially 1-21-18. This sax is going to cost me $2700. I’ve looked online to try to get it somewhere else, but they don’t have financing. I’m going to keep looking. I’m almost interested to see how long this will take them. “Matt” said I was the very next customer in line to receive this product. I checked their website and they had the same sax available 1-9-18 or somewhere close to that. What is going on? If I’m the next one, why does it take another month?!?!"
