DO NOT RENT FROM TARA: APARTMENT 176 Commercial Road London. Stole my money

"Please DO NOT RENT from Tara from 176 Commercial Road in London>
I paid the studio in London hosted by Tara: 176 Commercial Road. The host was never there, they did not leave the key inside the keybox, Tara's husband was there and did not allow me to check in on the contrary was extremely rude with me. Wimdu employees Samuel Velho and Tiago Magellan did not take care of my situation, Wimdu gave the money to Tara and her husband without allow me to have my money as reimbursement due to this incredible situation with the host. They sent me a message that the host, Tara, will do the check in a day later when I obviously was staying in another place and paying extra for a bed and a roof in a city that was outside my country.
If I recommend Wimdu or Tara's place: NEVER.

Stay away from Wimdu!!!

"Please stay away from this home sharing platform, especially if you are a host. As a former Wimdu host, I stopped hosting on the Wimdu platform after we could no longer tolerate the following:
1. Lack of transparency with fees. The amount provided to hosts is never what was noted in your invoice. There are hidden fees that were never disclosed.
2. Lack of representation for hosts. False claims and complaints made by guests will result in immediate monetary fine for hosts. There is no opportunity for hosts to repeal false statements made by guests.
3. Lack of support for hosts. Guests that break house rules or even the federal local laws will not receive any penalty from Wimdu. (Unlike hosts where fines are immediately enforced, please refer to #2) It is up to the hosts to ensure guests follow the rules.
Overall, the company is unethical and unprofessional. You’ll lose money, time and energy, and most of all a pleasant night sleep after dealing with them. Save yourself the unnecessary stress and aggravation and go somewhere else!!!

Worst ever service for renters

"A rentee cancelled his booking and I got sanctions and had to pay fines because afterwards he said it was my fault and Wimdu completely sided with the rentee without any proof. DO NOT afvertise with this crook company."

Wimdu Hosts can cancel one week before your arrival!

"Wimdu host canceled a week before our arrival! it seems the hosts on wimdu can cancel your reservation anytime! we had planned our trip two months before our trip on Wimdu and they let the host cancel on us a week a head of our arrival time-funny that the place is still available to rent on their website and they hold our payment for two months!I wish I knew this is even possible , at least I could reserve a hotel room 2 months ahead of time with reasonable price! a week notice it's too late to plan and find a reasonable rate accommodation in US in summer!have a backup plan if you are relying on this site hosts!I am really disappointment!and will never use this website and the host called "Elle Wien" who manage lots of properties in NYC and San Diego on Vrbo and Wimdu!she is not reliable and the website does not care -they might charge the host a fee but they say it takes up to 7 days to refund your credit card charges..be careful and have backup plan..this website and host are not reliable!"

Horrible payment handling not safe!!!

"Absolutely horrible way of handling payments. I made a booking request. Wimdu took the money from my account immediately when I made the request. The request was refused after few hours. It took 6 days until the money back to my account. Without having the money in my account I was not able to make another booking and I needed one during the following 2 days."

HORRIBLE COMPANY

"WIMDU

I made a reservation (FYJS1DE6) on 15 august 2016 for Coriander apartment Lisabon (14-19.06.2017).
After 6 months I was anounced that the host has canceled the reseravation. The same host has tried in november to cancel the same reservation, but after an intervation from Wimdu support the issue was solved then.
The host was anoyed because of the small price I got the reservation for (aprox. 60% of the full price).
With what am I to blame?
The fact that the host managed to cancel the reservation makes me think that Wimdu.com is a poor and horrible company.
In my opinion, you can't compare yourself with booking.com or airbnb.com.
The host must pay a tax or fine in case of cancelation, just like I would if I would cancel my reservation.
You are sending me offers almost every day, how could I take them into consideration after the horrible experince I had?

Disastrous experience with Wimdu

"We have been cheated by Wimdu: we rent an apartment in Reykjavik for 4 people, two nights, in June 2016. We were unable to check in there. The host address was incorrect and the contact telephone was not registered (checked by local police). Wimdu charged immediately, but the host gave no sign of life ever, despite our repeated attempts to contact him, to discuss the details of check-in. Wimdu has not wanted to take any responsibility despite being the only money and communication managers with the host. We tried to inquire in the area about the apartment but nobody knew anything, neither the police. We had to find an alternative accommodation and the next morning we contacted Wimdu via its website, several hours before 24 h indicated by them as a deadline to pay the host. The service customer only serves to pretend they have, because they do not solve anything. Their excuse was they had already paid the host. This service is diffuse and they give preset answers, without capacity for solving problems and taking care of the quality of their offer, (they still are offering the same apartment). It seems they do not have any interest in keep customers. Wimdu is like a web of contacts that you do not know how many are real."

Non Existent Customer Support

"We have a property, located in Spain, listed with Wimdu.
They have placed the location marker as some unknown place in the desert in Algeria, so we are not receiving any enquiries.
We have written to them, telephoned them, all to no avail.
We are not sure if the company has ceased to exist!!

Good experience as Host

"I recently became a host with Wimdu, everything from the welcoming and explanation given to me about the company went well. After I received my first booking, the contact with the guest was pleasant and the check-in and check-out went smoothly. Had one contact with the customer support, about my cancellation policy and was easily clarified. Will continue to have my listing with Wimdu and hopefully get even more bookings."

"Well, I report my experiences:
1) I am approached by a gentleman who wants to rent my house, checking dates and clear seeing them accept it. after a while I realize that there 'wasn't the synchronization of calendars (never happened until now) and are forced to cancel the reservation. seeking a number for customer support, but there it isn't exist the one thing to do it fill in a form and wait (on other sites there are number 24/24, email sites and fax) after 2 days we can deleted and Windu send me an email in which I have to pay 82 euro. ok I think not 'my fault, but that's okay. After a few days a girl wants to reserve the house, but she doest trust because she saw my property with my name and my profile in my city and in New York (well I think I have been hacked) and wanted get information to avoid being cheated. I begin to read the review (in several languages), and surprise, surprise almost all the hosts were hacked (as is that 'possible?for Years) and thousands of people cheated the site obviously know nothing about it, and washes his hands. i begin to think I have to pay 82 Euros and you're not able to sync calendars and hackers will wander undisturbed for years without that you do not do anything? Absolutely alarmed remove my property and decide to cancel the account (in other sites there is' a special area to delete the account when you decide you no longer want to be part of it) on Windu not you have to fill out the same damn format. Windu disgust you with all my heart!

"Here another story of a Wimdu scam. Booked an apartment, got the booking confirmation with wimdu logo and all (but fake email address). Transferred the money (1120euro) and now get no response from the host or Wimdu. The advertisement has been removed from their website. Do NOT book through this website ! (They work quite the same as Airbnb but Airbnb is reliable where Wimdu is a horrible fraud)"

Wimdu turned out to a trap and a nightmare for me!

"Dear All,

My experience with Wimdu worked out in fact as a trap and a nightmare for me. I happened to mistakenly book a flat for about 5 days and everything started when I wanted to cancel it 2 hours after my booking. When I saw the cancellation policy which was within the time frame of 2 days before the checkout time I was determined that I would be successful since I am in the limits of correct time frame and I could be cancelling it. Firstly,I wanted to reach to the customer service who was taking care of reservations but it was not possible as there is a certain Hotline that people accept calls but not a direct line to the reservations department so you need to email them and their response is very slow and they do not return back for a long time. I can understand the reasons behind this as there should be a lot of customers who can complain and the only way to avoid them is to block them!Anyways,they returned with emails apologising that ''I tried to reach you'' but it is not correct either as they did not call at all. Come on we are living in the 21st century,you cannot reach by a phone?So,you are left with the mercy of the people if they return they return if not you are left on the road. Anyways,they returned back after long waitings but said that it is impossible to cancel because I should have cancelled it 12.00 am but I argued that i did the reservation after that and logically this would not have been possible and i did not see anywhere such an hour restriction limit and I proved this with a screenshot finally after 2 days' of prolonged conversations and emails they gracefully said that i can cancel the booking but they would be giving a voucher instead. I am really shocked!2 days I argued with them which made me fell into really bad states of mind and after that they happened to accept their fault and I am offered with not a refund but a voucher. I argued to this but they told me that I had no choice but to accept.I thought that ok fine since I would be using this voucher in another stay in any other country and after that would never use their service.I accepted it reluctantly. But,this time they gave me a voucher less than the amount of the price of the booking.You agree on something and you prove that they are the faulty party and at the end what you get is a devalued voucher!I booked it in pounds but I got in euros and the vaue is lower than the amount that I booked and again I need to use this voucher again using their services. This is the value that Wimdu representatives give to you!So beware or if you are pursuing for a cheap stay you are welcome but do not forget that when something goes wrong it will be a nightmare and wont be resolved. You must make a decision your mood or your budget?You can everytime find reasonable prices with a Hotel.A little bit more expensive but Is it worth on getting into trouble?

WIMDU ARE THE WORST CROOKS CRIMINALS DONT EVER USE THIS GARBAGE COMPANY

"i LISTED MY PROPERTY WITH WIMDU one day my password didnt work someone else was running my property and lowered the price for it and is trying to scam tourists. I tried to contact wimdu and nobody answers the phone nor the emails and they are still offering my property with my pictures without any control.. I dont know what to do Calling their ph number is a waste nobody s home.."

Worst Experience Ever

"I have dealt with wimdu as a host & i had the worst experience ever as one of the guest decided to leave after 2 nights of the booking and he took the keys with him and he send them random pictures not from my apartment claiming the bathroom is dirty and wimdu customer support decided to refund him and they didnt send me any money and till the moment i dont have the keys.

I contacted the customer support twice they are extremely rude and not helping and make you feel you are ruining their day by your stupid problem. and till now i dont have the keys and i am thinking about making a police report.

one of the customer support agents decided to hang up on me & the other agent decided to make fun of me which is something will never happen with Airbnb.

Wimdu doesnt care at all about host right, they are guests oriented company and if i were guest i will just send random pictures of dirty bathroom and stay for free anywhere in the world.
