"Terrible filters. First, the filters were shrink wrapped which is not the original way they are packaged from Whirlpool whether you buy for Whirlpool.com or at the store; 2nd, after putting it in, I never got the sputtering like normally happens when I replace the filter while running the required amount of water through the filter after changing; 3rd, the water never tasted great but I thought it was at lease doing something. After about a week, the water smelled, gave me heartburn if I drank it and the ice made every drink taste terrible. I ordered straight from Whirlpool and replaced it. Unfortunately, I had ordered two filters from waterfiltermart.com. I took the second one and hit it with a hammer to see what was inside. I was only a hard black carbon tube rattling around in there with a hole down the middle. no more discount filters for us!"

Did you know that water filters for most refrigerators are Not made in the states but are made in other countries for whirlpool and others. Says so right on their packages."
