We've got your money, now go away!

"I've been a Vivint customer for over 10 years. During the early days while my system was working properly they were great to deal with. After 6 years however, my system started needing service but since I live in an area without a full time Vivint tech, service calls have not been timely and as a result, my system has been down more time than it has been working.

Back in spring 2018, the loyalty team authorized a free upgrade of my equipment as compensation for the recurring issues. Over 2 years on however, this still has not happened. Moreover, they advised me that they have not been able to access or monitor my home in over a year and a half but have still been charging my credit card every month. They have apologized for this oversight and have advised that a refund will be processed but that promise too has gone unfulfilled. Repeated calls to the loyalty team culminate with a promise to call me back once they have more information but those promises are unfulfilled as well.

Conclusion, Vivint can be a descent home security option if you live in an area with a service technician. Be sure to ask specifically about this before hiring them to "protect your home and family" (their words not mine). They're also big enough to know that they've got more resources than you have so if you have a problem with them, they've already got your money so just go away!

Waste of my Money

"After getting our vehicles broken into we finally decided to get a home security. Today our vehicle Was broken into and a Bike stolen well we slept.. cameras didn't even work. didn't record any of it. ALL THE 2 CAMERA THAT WERE POINTING IN THAT AREA DIDN'T RECORD ANY OF IT. It recorded a light in the back drive way.. which had nothing to do with the event, and it always captures the random neighbour walking by, it can't capture a break in right in front of the camera. Waste of money for a year. so enraged that I bought this for two years to avoid it and the security system did nothing.. so mad.
So of course there is nothing they could do besides change the settings of the cameras to help prevent it for next time. It was a waste of money massive waste of my money for 2 years.

Vivint-Slam the door in their face

"When a young kid shows up on your step saying he is with Vivint and wants to speak to you about home security shut the door! They will blow smoke for 30 minutes about customer service, quality, and low monthly payments. Equipment is cheap low grade junk, the installation will take 3 hours longer than what they tell you and look like total
$h!t when they get done!!! And then when you call into customer service to discuss your dissatisfaction you will get the run around for days, weeks, and months until you finally realize that you have been had and give up.

Terrible customer service

"First the vivint installers did not know what they were doing. Now I have equipment that is of poor design & does not work properly. I was on phone with them for almost 2 hours getting hung up on. The only thing they offered was for me to PAY for the same exact equipment! I will be canceling when contract is up. "
