"The book is unusable due to shadow-like areas of darkened color that appear on the pages.

I can not recommend this company their instructions seem good but their response to a problem is poor. They simply blame the customer.

I contacted the company, sent them pictures of the problem pages and simply told it was my fault.

They have many possible causes but none of them has any relevance to how my book was made.

"I first found viovio.com through a google search when I specifically wanted a softbound photo book, i.e., something that looked like an annual report or high quality magazine. Other photo book suppliers like Apple or shutterfly didn't have that as an option, so I was so excited when I found viovio. That was several years ago. The quality of the books exceeded my expectations, they were delivered on time in what has to be their busiest season (right before Christmas), and when I had a question their customer support got back to me right away. "I am so pleased with the quality of Viovio's products and their level of customer service. Unlike other websites, Viovio gives you total control over the books you publish. The user interface can be a little challenging at first, but they provide excellent tips on their site and they respond immediately to inquiries by e-mail. When your project is finished, the site shows you exactly what your publication will look like, from cover to cover. What you see is truly what you get. I ordered two hardcover books and 31 softcover books. Customer Service immediately detected some resolution issues with one page, so they sent me a proof, free of charge, so I could correct the problem before my order was processed. The quality of the paper is really good -- even on the less expensive softcover books. The binding on the hardcover books is amazingly good. The finished product is comparable to what you would find on the shelf at a book store. When I subsequently ordered another hardcover copy of my book, it was seriously damaged by the post office. The post office refused to assume any responsibility, but Viovio actually sent me a new copy of the book at no charge. I will definitely use Viovio for all my self-publishing needs."

The hard cover is very professional looking and feeling, the pages are a wonderful quality, the printing is sharp and beautiful, and the pages are centered and cropped evenly (I've had books from other companies where the pages were not centered causing my borders to look really screwy).

And the price is terrific! I got a 12x12 book for the same price I have been paying other places for an 8x10 with the same number of pages.

Their processing time is longer than some companies, but it's not outrageous, and I consider the final product well worth the wait. I choose the 1-2 week shipping option, and my book arrived 3 days from the shipping date."
