Don's buy a refurbished monitor

"Purchased this monitor from the Viewsonic factory refurbished outlet. Sat in the box until needed. Opened the box and hooked it up only to find it did not work. Tried to get a replacement or refund but no go, unit is out of the 30 day warranty. Out 214 dollars. Don't trust these people look like the unit was never serviced just thrown in a box and shipped out to me. Dec 10, 2019

Make You Pay When They Send You Junk

"I purchased three of these monitors and after a few months one of them developed lines in the screen. I contacted support and they issues an RMA but after getting the email it said I had to pay for return shipping which was almost $40.

Unfortunately the company would not pay for shipping and I was forced to pay 1/3 of the price of a new monitor to get a defective monitor replaced.

This is unacceptable in this day and age where most products provide a return shipping label at no charge. To have to pay to replace a junk monitor they sold me is ridiculous.

Poor Customer Service and Technical Support is a Myth

"We recently purchased Viewsonic “Thin Clients” to replace all of the computers in our office network. When they where received the Firmware was out of date and inoperable. The short version of this story is that we were unable to get any help from Customer Service or Technical Support for over a week. We called every few hours for 8 days and the response was always the same. We will have someone contact you within the hour or by the end of the day, or we got sent to another representative that didn’t answer and who’s mail box was full or not set up. We never received a call back or even an attempt to help. Our IT team stayed at the office patiently waiting on “call backs” or “return emails” that could help from 6 am until 9 pm at night, for 8 days straight waiting on Viewsonic to no avail. Furthermore, every single person we were able to contact spoke such poor English that it was almost impossible to understand and seemed purposely sloppy. They were unprofessional, rude and incapable. Ultimately, I have never in my life encountered such poor customer service from any company at any level. I am still not sure they even have a technical support department. I had no idea that any viable company could be this bad. My experience with Viewsonic has been unimaginably disappointing. This has been, by far, the worst business experience that I have had in the last 50 years. I could have gone the most expensive, most complicated route possible and been far better off had we stayed away from Viewsonic."

"I feel I must warn you & I am a View Sonic only user. But I deserve a lot better than this.
When it comes to sloppy workmanship that cuts it.
I sent for a refurb G90FB Monitor & thought
about saving $100.00. After owning 4 19" G Monitors I was in for the shock of my life. I recieved
a huge box with all the packing at the bottom &
the monitor looked as if it went end for end who
knows how many times.

I spent an hour on the phone trying to get
a manager who can authorise a free to your house pick up. They will tell you they can't but don't buy it. Now this was the View Sonic Factory store so I was sure my Monitor would
come safely packed like all the others had come.

I don't know if we will replace our 3 Graphic
monitors this Fall with View Sonic a lot depends
on how they treat me on this return.

My advice is stay clear of their refurbs & buy
from someone like NewEgg.

Now for the end BTW Happy 4th of July. After a month I finily got my money back less S&H. The one constant was no one knew what the other was doing. I must say a Mr Paul W. from the new sales of View Sonic was the one person who helped keep the VS Store & it's 3 Stooges in line. The CRT Monitor is history so plan on 6.5 # skinny glass mucho $$ monitors from hear on out. I ordered a skinny 22" from New egg & get this Sanyo blew View Sonic off the board. Well that's KARMA for you!!!

"Have had two experiences with Viewsonic: One was for a projector that my company owned. I thought it was fairly old, but upon inquiry to Viewsonic, they told me it was still under warranty. They not only fixed the problem, they also sent the repaired unit back with spare cables to boot. Very impressive. Another: I have a monitor that is defective. Called, gave them the serial number, they said send it in. Period. No hassles, no dodging, just very responsive service. My favorite company. Sony, on the other hand, required a receipt for a projector that they knew was defective in its manufacture. I worked for a multi-billion dollar company, and had no way to recover the receipt. Sony said there was a "work around" for the problem, (translation:We know we make sh--, so here's how to put up with it)The work-around didn't/doesn't work, but since it cost more to repair than to repurchase, my company bought a Viewsonic on the strength of Viewsonic's customer support. Got to love it. "

"I purchased a Viewsonic VG2030WM 20" monitor bundled with my Cyberpower PC purchase. I am fairly happy with the performance of the monitor, but very dissatisfied with the Viewsonic handling of my rebate. I wanted to rate Viewsonic since the $30 rebate offer was handled directly through them. I mailed my fully-legal rebate to Viewsonic on 3-16-07. On 4-25-07, I received a letter from them saying that They received an invalid bar code/UPC, and asked me to submit the original. I wrote back on 4-26-07 and told them I had submitted the original UPC. I heard nothing for 2 months. I called on 6-25-07 and explained that I submitted the original, but it may look like a copy because I just peeled the label with the top layer of cardboard, instead of cutting through the entire thickness of cardboard. They said they would have to retrieve the records from the warehouse and that would take 3 weeks. Then they would review my case. I heard nothing for another month. I called on 7-25-07 and was told it was approved and being processed. I waited and waited some more. On 9-4-07 I called and they told me it mailed that day. I finally got the check 5 days later, so I know that it did not mail on 9-4. I am convinced that I would never have seen a dime unless I fought for what was rightfully mine all along. The experienced has really soured me toward Viewsonic, which is really too bad because I had a pretty high view of them previously."

"I bought a ViewSonic VX910 LCD monitor from CompUSA but wanted to rate ViewSonic Corp on how well they handled the troubled $100 rebate. It was a two-$50 rebate situation. I followed the rebate instructions to the T. But www.wheresmyrebate.com rejected one $50 rebate and paid on the other. www.wheresmyrebate.com had a report on the rejected rebate that made me look like the greatest rebate scammer out there. I contacted www.wheresmyrebate.com and got no response at all. I then called ViewSonic and they opened a case. I received update emails, but didn't get the second rebate. I called back about a month ago. They had information that both rebates had been paid by wwww.wheresmyrebate, but paid on dates prior to my product purchase. We discussed it and the Rep said she would have the second $50 rebate sent out. It arrived a week later.

I admire ViewSonic for seeing this rebate situation through. All of the ViewSonic Reps trusted that I was telling the truth. ViewSonic must have reconginized the problems with wwww.wheresmyrebate because no one was argumentative with me. The full rebate was satisfied eventually. The LCD monitor is a good product and the company stands behind its rebate program. Needlessly denying rebates is a tough place to be because it destroys the buyer's trust. ViewSonic is to be commended for handling this gracefully. ViewSonic trusted the information they were priovided by the rebate processor. But in the end, the customer was trusted more - a sign of a good company.
