"I am usually not that desperate to be buying from a shop in Germany but in this instance I did because they had a discontinued Tag Heuer model (CL2110) that I wanted to add to my collection and based on ebay, they had a "sterling" reputation. Unfortunately, my experience was less than sterling.

Prior to purchasing the watch, I checked out the photos of the watch on the website. The condition was impeccable and I was immediately interested. However, I did notice that the watch was displayed with a box that did not appear to be the original box. I contacted them to confirm and was told that the watch did come with the original box and papers. Since they confirmed, I thought nothing of it and went ahead to purchase the watch. The price was on the high side but I figured this model was hard to come by and it was in a pristine condition with the original box and papers.

When I finally got the watch, the watch was not as "pristine" was pictured on the website. There were some light scratch marks which, for some reason, did not show up in their high res photos. I could live with the light scratches but the real disappointment was that the watch did not come with the original box and papers. They gave me the box and booklet for some other Tag Heuer watch (I bought a Kirium but they gave me papers for Golf, go figure). Thinking that this could have been a mix-up, I contacted them for the right box and papers, to which they replied that they don't have them.

At this point, I was getting really frustrated with the whole situation. They had earlier confirmed they had the proper docs, and now that they have my money, they tell me they don't?? I told them I am not keeping the watch without the original box and papers (to me, the watch is valued significantly less if not in full set) and asked for a full refund. Despite this being clearly their fault, they had the cheek to tell me that they would only pay me back net of whatever shipping and bank charges they had incurred, plus I had to pay for the shipping on my own to return the watch to them.

I disagreed but they refused to budge. In the end, I had to settle for a slightly increased amount from their initial refund offer. I just didn't feel like keeping the watch any longer.

Here comes the clincher, when I finally returned the watch to them, they refunded me.. but it was their initial refund offer and not the increased amount which they had agreed on.

Contacting them has not yielded any results. They keep saying that it's not their fault, they had incurred all these charges, yada yada.. but at the end of the day, I was the one who was made to pay.

I regret not having dealt with them via ebay / paypal. At least, thru these channels, I would have had some recourse.
