Garbage

"Absolute garbage customer service. It takes at least 30 minutes of being put on hold before speaking to a live person. Once you speak to a Truconnect customer service representative, you discover that they are not knowledgeable, uncaring, rude, ill mannered, and will HANG UP ON YOU. "

Important for ACP - DO NOT ORDER TABLET AT SIGNUP!!!

"This company is a complete scam that baits and then swaps without the customer knowing until it is too late. This company offers a $10 tablet with Lifeline and ACP. But they are running a complete bait and switch scam, and customer service is fully aware lie after lie.

DO NOT ORDER THE TABLET WHEN YOU SIGN UP!!! WAIT UNTIL YOU GET THE PHONE FIRST!!!

They offer a complete garbage Sunshine T1 or an AMAZON FIRE TAB, but if you click the box to buy it at initial signup, they will send you a $40 piece of trash T1 "Elite" even though you instantly get an email saying you can choose either. The govt pays $100 toward a device, and the Firetab is $110, but once you get baited to click on signup, you no longer have a choice. They instantly send the T1 and there is no way to cancel, because they already took the money from your benefits. So you no longer can use it to swap. Wait until you get the phone before ordering a tablet, because even their website is a scam trap. You cannot access it until you get your phone and phone number, so when CS says to access it, you can't until after they send you the T1. Complete false advertising bait and switch.

I wouldn't mind if the tablet worked properly or was any good, but it is complete junk like every review states. Constantly crashes, screen warped so you can't seal a glass protector in the corners, constant lags opening apps sometimes up to a minute of freezing just to open Waze, trying to use voice commands or clicking on mic options in apps freezes and crashes apps, the charger port is below where the case seals, so you have to wiggle and pry it to get the plug in, so slow.... I have never used such junk. Even free prepaid android phones run laps around this. CS tries to tell you they do not offer Firetabs, but the email you get says you can choose. If you drill them, they finally will offer it as an upgrade for $110. But if you know how the program works, the govt pays $100 and you pay $10, so this is a govt adjusted price device, but the company knows the Sunshine Tabs are just horrible and they try to sell you a Firetab for $140, but then state they can discount it to $110. Complete fraudulent scam/bait and switch preying on the people that are not aware of how the federal system works.

This company needs to be investigated by the attorney general and FCC. The service is Tmobile and works well enough. The phone is junk as well, but it works enough for a free phone. They push this T1 crap because it is their most profitable company propriety device, and when you push for the Firetab, they try to tell you it is not as good, because it is not 4G compatible. It is wifi only. This is how they capture your ACP and Lifeline and trying to get them to release it after you get the tab is not easy. Constant argument and BS. Know your technology. You do not need a 4G tablet, because you can just turn on the hotspot on your phone. You don't need both to have cellular data. Of course they will never tell you that.

Lies, then more.

"Locked up my acp/lifeline. Sent different phone than offered. Says they are collecting both acp/lifeline, just checked, actually. They tried to upsell me another phone, when I told them the phone they sent retails at $10.01 new, and does not work. At all. And even on their website, it states you're offered a choice of phone, I was not, at all. In fact, I was shocked when anything arrived. You chose it when you opened it goes out the door, the application was listed as pending, then the phone showed up. And it's not what your site says. I am supposed to get unlimited talk/text/data, all their ads, and even when I went through their website to reverify, I checked a box to agree to that, and submitted, and said I was already recieving Acp/Lifeline, unlimited everything. I get 4.5GB of data. Less than any plan offered on their site. I Contacted via email. Just tried to upsell me again. And tablet? What tablet? I can and will post all the links on your site and from ads, as well as emails. All data is sent to the IRS via ACP/Lifeline, for company compensation, I read the entirety of the data offered by the FTC. I'll go straight to the IRS. You can't refute what I can prove. The FCC and FTC are amazing, and helpful, great sources of information, if you're willing to look. This company, as all do, must report the data to the IRS. Oh, it was supposed to be 5G, not only was it 4G LTE, the phone flatly did not work. Then what tablet? I never made it past a phone, just straight to "you're done, pending, then a discreet box." Oh, and I was given no options, actually, not one thing said was true, and complaining isn't all I can do. I cannot believe you think this is okay, to treat mentally ill, physically disabled, homeless people like this. I am unable to work, at all, but you want to lie to me, then try to force me to pay for what? A phone? More GB of data, your lowest listed plan is 6gb, I got 4.5, and that with all the other lies and manipulations."

Cannot Replace A New Device

"I have a phone from truconnect since October of last year, I dropped my phone on New Year's Eve and the left side of the screen does not response when I touch doe entering my passcode and I chatted with them how to fix and they response restart the device and press the down and power button I did that method many times still does not work and I asked them if I can replace my phone and their response was they cannot replace a phone with a physical damage. I don't know how to fix I recently contact cloud mobile how to fix it. Do not damage a government phone if you're broke their customer service are not the best trust me. "

Not as advertised

"The cell phone package I ordered should include smartphone, unlimited talk/text, and 100MB data usage.The 100MB data usage is not being provided Have called several times and submitted a ticket.
Called again yesterday and now they say they have no record of the ticket and also that my phone is not capable of connecting to the internet. This is not true as the phone has a browser, an activate data option, and an option to send photos via the internet to email addresses. Instead they tried to sell me a new phone.
I have filed a complaint with the California Public Utilities Commission.

Update 4/14/17: Since filing CPUC complaint, problem has finally been solved thanks to a great Truconnect support agent (Hugo). The original phone they sent me was so old, it only worked on G2. After a few false starts I finally have a Samsung Galaxy that is working fine. Thanks Hugo.

"It could be VERY slow depends on where and what you were trying to do (too slow to even browse). They also auto-charge your account so you can't really use what you paid for before canceling because say you have $27 balance and tried to use it all, the moment your balance drops "low" they will charge you as they call it "top-up""

"I found Truconnect to be a good solution for my internet needs. It's like taking my home wifi router with me but without cords. I just flick the mifi on and my laptop connects to the internet. I have found the 3g coverage to be quite satisfactory for my traveling needs. "
