"I recently made two orders for CDs from Tower. The orders were placed about two weeks apart. The first shipment I received was from my second order. I really hate when this happens - very unsettling. What's become of my first order? I went to the USPS Tracking and found the package was in Louisville - it would be arriving late, but was still in transit. It was like this for about 10 days. I decided I'd give Tower Customer Service a call and see if they could help. That very same day I received an e-mail from Barbie at Tower Customer Service telling me what Tower would do for me, including a replacement shipment, and she advised me of one thing that I could do that might be helpful. The next day I went to the USPS Tracking site to do what Barbie had advise of and I found that USPS had updated their Tracking to show the shipment would be delivered the next day. Wow, that miss Barbie sure gets things moving. Well, sure enough, the next day the USPS delivered my four CDs and there was "peace in the valley".
I'm giving Barbie a huge thank you for helping me out - and a thank you to Miriam as well, for her support. It's exactly this kind of personal and effective customer service that keeps me solidly in the Tower Records camp. "

"After dealing with the horribleness that has become USPS, I was so grateful for Conor and Mariam at Tower for helping with a vinyl package USPS had lost. While I'm thankful for everyone at Tower for being both courteous and quick with their replies, I want to thank Mariam in particular for solving the actual problem and alleviating my stress and worry over the matter. "I believe I've had the pleasure of dealing with all the C/S representatives from Tower Records. First there was Barb, Connor, Miriam, and last but not least, Pam. Any issues that I encountered, they were quick to rectify the problem.
The order process is simple, and the time in which it takes to receive the product is relativity fast. I reside in IL, and the items (LPs) come from Kentucky. They were properly packed, and the jackets/ Gatefolds are shrink wrapped. Although, I did encounter an issue with a gatefold that had creases, and a few indentations. Connor assisted me on that issue. Another issue I encountered was an annoying buzz/ pop sound on one of the titles that I ordered. Barb & Miriam assisted me with that issue. Did I leave anyone out? LOL
I was totally oblivious to the fact that Tower Records still existed. It wasn't until I googled a title, and low and behold, one of the hits displayed that Tower Records had it in stock. It brought a smile to my face. Their prices are competitive, and shipping charges are fair.
Should you ever experience an issue with media purchased from Tower Records, make sure you include a video or audio clip. This eliminates the back and forth of emails. Plus, it speeds up the process of getting an exchange or a refund.
I recall entering the Tower Records store in NYC (1979 -1988.) riding up the long escalator. Very overwhelming, but in a good way. I would spend hours Just browsing through the different formats CD's/ LP's/ Laser Discs. Oh, and yes, cassettes too!
