Horrible customer service!

"Very poor customer service. I pre-ordered a bunch of the new Dark Horse Ghostbusters comics. I didn't realize that the 2-day shipping would cost $23.99, while my purchase was only about $7. That was my mistake. On March 28th I went on their website to cancel the rest of my upcoming pre-orders. I also sent an email to see if the shipping amount was correct, and if it was the to cancel the rest of my orders. I received an automated message saying that someone would get back to me, but never did. But, since there was nothing on my pre-order page I figured it was all good.

Well, to my surprise on April 25th (a month later) I received an email that my next order was being processed and shipped using the 2-day shipping again, costing me another $23.99 on top of the cost of the comics. When I called to asked what happened they told me that my second pre-order actually wasn't canceled because it was past their "FOC" date. I was NEVER contacted by them to tell me that I wasn't able to cancel my second order and when I asked about my original email I was told that it was never received. I forwarded the original email I had sent and was told they switched their system, so they never saw it. Meanwhile, the text in the email literally says it was received. So, I'm having trouble seeing where that's my problem?

I can understand not being able to cancel my second order, but as an established company they should have taken responsibility for the fact that their system change cost me money. If I knew that my second order wasn't canceled I could have at least asked them to change the shipping method, but they took zero accountability and put it all on me. Lesson learned and I'll never shop here again. I'd rather support a store that actually cares about their customers.

Received not in good condition

"Bad cause I received the foil#181 hulk and a nice big crease on lower left side cause they don’t use Gemini packaging they use a regular thick brown envelope which it looks cheaper and can tell it’s cheaper to buy looks like they don’t want to spend on supplies which is so sad and as we all know they will ignore the bad reviews and do there jobs and that’s so sad! Also not worth it to send back cause you have to pay shipping they have to use a strong packaging like Gemini for real!"

Extremely poor customer service

"Repeatedly ignored emails, spoke with Kyle and caught him in a lie with his own email, very unprofessional and refused to let me speak to his superior, told me I need to learn how shipping works when I have 20+ years logistics experience, threatened to block my email and phone number because I told him I would call back untill I was able to speak to whomever he reports to. Still waiting on that by the way. Shady company, do not use, once they have your $ they do not care at all about customers"

Magically changed order settings in packaging/sending options

"It's so cringe that some order get messed up that doesn't make sense at all.

So as you all know you can set your shipping and packaging preferences that apply for your (pre-)orders. (You basically set this normally once)

Last year out of the blue they messed up an order that was send without any protection (Also didn't get charged for it). But you get it the package came in in really rough shape. Also the comics banged up by the transport.

Fine contacted support and they said yeah your settings where changed.

So now my last experience tops it all. Now i saw a statement incoming from my creditcard company that was extremely high compared to all other payments done in the past. So looked it up and my order was shipped with high shipping costs? This joke costed me almost 65 euros in total where it normally costs like 10euros.

The only things they can say in support is sorry and it would not happen again and you must have changed it yourself and then the support team changes these settings back?

I asked for a refund or a concession but nothing.

The joke is i ordered many times i think (10/12 orders and probably in 1 to 3 batches, probably around +- 20 comics/books).

And overall i was happy but this tops it for me leaving a bad review.

So 2 orders where magically different then all the other orders that came in correctly.

To be clear my last experience was also the last order i should receive from them. But this is also the experience that makes me never order again with them.

You all have been warned.

Terrible Customer Service

"Cancelled a pre-order I had waited a significant amount of time for, and were nearly impossible to get help from. Phones go unanswered. Chat is unmanned. After several HOURS being #1 in the chat queue I encountered a "customer service" associate who was rude and unhelpful. Avoid these guys like the plague, because you are sure to be disappointed."

2+ months later and still haven't received my order

"Placed preorder on 11/22/2021 for item showing on sale date of 12/8/2021. I should have looked around online cause that sale date is a flat out lie. the publisher didn't even have a publishing date for the item until January 2022! So now, it's 1/31/2022 and I still don't have the item(that was supposed to be a gift). I reached out mid December to ask about an ETA and was told "a couple weeks". Well, that was 6 weeks ago! Now their website says they're short staffed and having shipping delays. I dunno, maybe I'll get the gift in time for the persons birthday in October?! "

Do not buy from these people!

"Batman No man's Land omnibus had just came out. I missed the pre order through CGN, so I went to these guys. Got my stuff around, the cost was $100, id seen cheaper, but hey, I was desperate. Got it in my cart hit calculate shipping. Whoooboy. Nearly $70 dollars! No thanks. I clicked out of the page. A week later, I get a charge for $170 dollars. I freak out. I message them, I email them twice, telling them to cancel. No reasponse. I call them, I get " this person's voice mailbox is full ". I get transfered to their parent company, Dark Hourse Comics. I finally get a lady, she tells me she can't help she will put me through to customer service. Cool. Get to customer service, get a automated message from some guy saying they are dealing with stuff. Be patient. A day lady my order shipped, ( was supposed to ship 4 days prior, after I went back and looked at my account ). So I'm out 160 dollars and I can't get in touch with them. Heck, I had to Google their reviews! I couldn't find any on site. I'm not even sure where this review is getting put, but needed to get the warning out there to ppl. Do not buy from these people. I didn't click finish on my order, next thing I know, -$170. The worst experience I've ever had with a retailer. Legalized robbery. Try CGN or Amazon. "

Long wating for a pre order and I cannot cancel

"I’ve pre-ordered a figure wich was supposed to be shipped on the second half of December and till now they haven’t updated me, or gave me any reason for that. I’ve been tried to contact them for 2 weeks without success and to make things worse they don’t allow me to cancel my pre order !"

SHIPPING!!!!!

"I ordered a comic with them. Just one… they charged me 33$ just for shipping!! I had done a pre-order for new comics that were coming out and they hadn’t invoiced me how much shipping would cost when I had ordered it with them. My comic came two weeks after it had been released and came in a really thin card stock envelope… I would not recommend!!"

Wouldn't let me cancel unwanted preorder within 24-hours.

"I loved TFAW until today. Yesterday I clicked preorder on a couple comics, figured out they weren't what I wanted, went to remove them, and couldn't. I emailed TFAW to cancel the preorders and was told it would put a strike on my account, and I already had two. I was never told about any strikes. I had asked them to remove a couple items before which were *very* late on fulfillment, but wasn't told anything about getting a "strike." So they penalize my account for their bad service. I will not be ordering from them again."

Terrible service

"New comics are damaged before they bag and board them. Brand new comic received torn. Their explanation, they sell reader copies, not collector copies. The shipping policy is absolutely ridiculous and tends to overcharge. Be sure to tell them to add "Do Not Bend" to your orders for better packaging and an increased shipping charge.
And they provide no communication or cancellation option if something is back-ordered.
If you have no other options, this company may work for you. But I can grab my cane and limp down to a comic store for better service, faster service, and comics that are actually in new condition.

Stupidest. Shipping Policy. EVER.

"It's one thing that they can't hold an available issue for one day until a pre-order is released (which every other online comic dealer can do, but whatevs). But I once ordered two comics and my cart told me, "Your order will ship in ONE shipment." They sent TWO and charged me double the postage, which did NOT appear in my cart. When I asked them about it, they said, "Well, yeah, you get one shipment for one comic, and another one shipment for the second." WTF?! That's almost laughable. And their reasoning is just as stupid: They can't hold on to an existing order for a pre-order, because "if you updated your cart in the meantime, it would change the shipping cost." SO UPDATE THE SHIPPING COST! Literally (and I'm not misusing the word) LITERALLY every other online business can do that. It's hard to be the dumbest business on the Internet, but they did it. "
