I purchased a set of Israeli military boots from the MegaStore. I initially contacted them about sizing through email since these shoes are only offered in whole number sizes and I take a half size. I received no response. I should have taken that as a sign and stopped, but I did not because of the good deals they were offering. Instead I did more research into his product and determined the most likely size.

I order the boots and quickly received a receipt through email. Shortly thereafter I received a tracking number. This were things got a little fishy. The site brags that items ship the next day. They do not. While UPS received the package information within 24 hours, it was actually several days before they received the package itself. This meant that 3-5 day ground shipping turned into 8-10 door-to-door. Unacceptable.

Upon receipt of the package, I discovered that the boots had simply been thrown into the cardboard box without any sort of packing material. No separate shoe box. Not even crumpled up newspaper. No paper receipt was present. No return instructions if sizing or shipping damage occurred. Unacceptable.

I tried on the boots. Sizing turned out to be fine, but one boot had a manufacturing defect in the heel that made it unwearable. I contacted the Military MegaStore well within the 30 day return window. Again no response. I brought the boots to a local cobbler who told me that the flaw could not be repaired. Unacceptable.

Sometimes getting items over the internet is a bargain. Sometimes it's a ripoff. At Military MegaStore, I was ripped off for about $50."
