"I took a gamble with The Foto Source and was pleasantly surprised when I purchased the Canon HFS100 camcorder. I later found out that the store is affiliated with Fumfie.com. It was apparent from their website that they fully disclose what you are purchasing. I’ve noticed with other NY/Jersey based stores they offer lower prices but you really don’t know what you’re buying. I ended up calling the stores with the lowest prices later to find out that all the accessories were stripped out and that you would have to purchase them separately. At Foto Source, what you are purchasing is what you would expect if you walked into a Best Buy store except for the price. The Foto Source also tries very had to be customer focus. They offer recommendations but not positioning it as a hard sell. I bought an upgraded battery and charger with a UV filter for the camcorder. The prices were slightly higher than other discount stores but relative to the larger savings on the camcorder it was worth it just for the convenience.

Only time will tell if this company survives. It apparent to me that honesty, customer satisfaction and low prices are the key ingredients to the success of this company. In my opinion they’ve taken that first step. I hope they can continue it because it would be a nice fresh approach with these NY/Jersey based stores.
