"Attempted to make an order for a refurbished 3com 10/100 56kbps combo card. When going through the online checkout process an error 404 page came up when we attempted to actually place the order. A call to their 1-800 number took us to a company called Rocky Mountain Table Group. The person on the phone said that we could not place a phone order and that it would be several weeks before the web page was working well enough to make an online order.
If your web page doesn't work and your not ready to take orders why is it viewable to the public?
Also I would guess the reviewer before me was someone from the company and not an actual customer as we were not able to actually place an order."
"I'll be honest, at first I was wary of buying from techblowouts.com. They didn't have any reviews here, and a lot of their prices seemed too good to be true at the time. I bit the bullet and bought two products from them, however, and I'm glad that I took the plunge. Here's what I bought...

[Hopefully those links will be good for a while. If they aren't, I bought a 10/100 32 bit Type III Intel Cardbus and a combo pack containing Splinter Cell and a Kensington Pilotmouse Pro. Both were listed as "new" and in "retail" packaging.]
The Cardbus cost me $16.67 (USD) plus $5.50 shipping and handling.
The game/mouse combo cost $18.89 and had free shipping.
I initially had a problem placing the order online (later realizing it was my error), so I called their customer service line instead (an 800 number). It started with one of the recorded "If you need this, please press 1, for that, press 2..." I made my selection and it only took 1 ring for someone to answer. The guy on the other end of the line was extremely polite (lots of "sirs" and such) and accommodating. I told him that I had some sort of problem, and he said he would be glad to take the order himself over the phone. The order was placed, and he said I would get an email comfirmation about it (which I promptly did receive). Then at my request, he doublechecked to make sure that the online order had not in fact been processed as well.
The order was placed on a Thursday, and, as I later discovered, shipped the next day. This is actually the only thing that I had any problem with at the store. I only received the 2 emails informing me of the Cardbus and game/mouse shipments on December 7th and 9th respectively. I was, however, able to use the website to track the packages (sent via UPS ground) before the emails arrived.
I picked up the packages on December 8th (which means shipping to arrival took about 3 business days).
Both packages were in sturdy cardboard boxes, clearly labelled and containing plenty of packing material inside. Both products were as described on the website: new and in their retail packaging.
Props to TechBlowouts for having an easily navigated site, good deals (some items, such as CDRS, are overpriced in my opinion though), clear product information, amiable staff who provide good service, and prompt order processing and shipping.
My only problem with TechBlowouts was that for some reason the shipment notification arrived after the products themselves did.
Also, keep in mind that they do deal in refurbished products, so make sure you look at the product info on the website before ordering anything. And as for checking availability, you might not realize it at first, but the apparent way that you know if an item is in stock or not, is that it will simply say when it is out of stock.
So in conclusion, it seems to be a good store, and I'm proud to be able to give them their first review here. I'll definitely stop there first the next time I'm in the market for any of their products."
