"I ordered $600 worth of equipment from Sunset Camera a couple of fridays ago. I asked for a tracking number and I was told to call back "after 2" - they close at 1 on Friday. I called back Monday morning and asked for a tracking number. I was told that it was boxed up and ready to go, but I should call back around 6 pm. I called back, they said they couldn't find a tracking number to call back the next day. This went on for two more days and I guess they got tired of me calling and said "Alright, sir, we'll cancel your order right now"... meaning it *still* hadn't shipped. I immediately called my credit card company, told them the story and asked them to dispute it after the mandatory 15 days. It's been about 10 days and they still haven't credited the card. These people shouldn't be in business."

"In short:
Ordered lens on 6-14 ... never received it. Promised delivery again never came. I demanded a refund ... after waiting 3 weeks. They were rude, hung up on me, promised me a refund ... never happened. Frequent calls to them produced no results, but many lies. Demanded refund again to no avail, though several promises that it had been done. I have still not recieved the refund 6 weeks after they charged my charge for an item they never shipped. I have filed a complaint with the NY Consumer Protection Board in the Attorney General's Office. I have disputed the amount with my credit card company. I even got a new credit card number because I don't trust these crooks. Their emails addresses on there site don't work. They didn't send a warranty card for the lens taht was delivered. They substituted a filter brand without notifying me and then yelled at me when I protested.

NEVER EVER USE THESE CROOKS IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

"Stay away from SunsetCamera.com! Repeatedly lied about shipping date. My credit card was charged the day of the order. Product was not shipped for over three weeks. When the product (Steiner Binoculars) was finally shipped it was an older (cheaper) version of the product and not the newer version advertised on their website. Shipped it back at my expense. Sunset Camera refunded product cost only after several phone calls. They did not refund their inflated shipping cost, even though they sent the wrong product. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company, which agreed to refund the $17 shipping charge. Sunset Camera never did. Very shady outfit. I filed a complaint with the New York City Department of Consumer affairs. Buyer Beware."
