Shady company, sells defective parts, horrible customer service

"I ordered a hitch for my Legacy, which came bent and wouldn't fit on the car. Because I had to choose Outback as my car model vs Legacy in order for the hitch to be an option, SPFY claimed that's why it wouldn't fit and refused to refund or replace it (they offered to refund it minus shipping, which means I would have ended up paying probably 2/3 of the cost in the end anyways), as well as behaving like children in their responses, saying things such as first I claimed it was defective, then I claimed it was damaged, as if there's a difference. I sent them pictures that clearly showed how the hitch was bent/defective, but they absolutely refused to accept (or as they say, except) any responsibility for it, wanting me to pay shipping to send it back, which would have cost half as much as the hitch itself.

Not only did I do EXTENSIVE research before buying to be sure the hitch would fit my car (the Outback and the Legacy are the exact same for that part of the car), but I then did what I should have done in the first place, and bought a hitch directly from the dealership. And what do you know, it fit perfectly, because it WASN'T BENT. And you would think that if it wouldn't fit a Legacy just because it's meant for an Outback that the dealership would know that. The fact is, it's meant for an Outback because Legacy's don't have the braking power needed for towing a trailer and they can't support as much tongue weight, though that's really a much smaller reason compared to the former. Of course, either these idiots don't know that or, more likely, they just use any excuse to avoid taking responsibility for shipping damaged parts. Also, they said they checked another part in stock and it looked the same as the one I got, based on my pictures, which means either they were lying or they had multiple defective hitches in stock. Avoid this company at all costs.

Unreliable Parts Ordering

"Ordered a part that was needed before car became disabled. Doesn't tell you ahead of time if it is in stock or not so ordered only to find out that it wasn't so will take another 4-5 days. Responded to go ahead with order but apparently they missed it so couple of weeks later find out it wasn't ordered. Unprofessional operation and responses will not deal with them again."

Canceled my order..software said i was a risk

"I have ordered a ton of Subaru parts from other places..only returned 1 part..paid up front with a credit card..how am i a risk? I will never order from these people again and i advise everyone to steer clear of this company."

"Outstanding! Great E-mail response to orders. Fast order preparation, packaging and shipping. Unlike other online original equipment (OEM) vendors, SubaruPartsForYou seems to work directly from their own stock and with Subaru. No third party involved. It shows in their service and their prices which are generally lower than other "dealer parts" vendors. Markedly lower than your local dealer. Highly recommended!"
