"They use Royal Mail to ship outside UK.
Don't use them as your goods will never arrive, get lost or get returned and you will still have to pay the postage.

selling used returned trainers as new products

"Bought some trainers from their online shop and what I received are either shop demo stock or perhaps something like Amazon try before you buy or similar.

Both soles show signs of being worn on a dirty surface. There is a dirty mark on the toe section front of one of the trainers. Also, the state of the box is clearly poor, especially the underside indicating that this box of trainers is definitely not in a new condition.

"Unfortunately in my last order I had to pay double the amount for shipping, customs and DHL services. Specific products worth 85 € I was charged with another 85 € for shipping, taxes fees and DHL charge. DHL sent me a message that with the express service I had to pay the larger amount. I emphasize that during the order I had chosen Standard Delivery and the company changed it to Express. As I shop from other British sites I have not encountered a similar problem and such a high cost of transport and customs expenses etc elsewhere. When I sent a message to the customer service department where I described the problem I received a very rude answer. Finally I answered them with a Greek proverb that says: "there are elsewhere orange trees making oranges". So I was deleted from newsletters list and although I had made several purchases from there I will not buy again. Therefore, it is no longer profitable to buy products from this site from customers of European Union countries like me. It is no longer recommended for purchases."

"Do not give them your business. They have absolutely no customer service skills. They wait DAYS to respond and then "apologize" for their mistakes rather than offer a solution. Go elsewhere even if the same product is half the price. You do not want to waste your time or give this company your business. "

BEWARE of their credit card scam

"BEWARE. These fraudulent cowboys debited my credit card but then refused to deliver the goods until a "bank authorisation" was supplied. I supplied this but then said the order had "lapsed" but they still wouldn't credit my money back! Handed this one over to my bank to sort out as StartFitness are clearly scam merchants."

Poor packaging and handling, damaged product, no customer service!

"Horrible packaging & handling, damaged product, no support from Customer service and wasted $35 on return shipping to UK.

Ordered a pair of Adidas Ultra Boost ($180 shoes) from Start Fitness (UK). The new shoe box was wrapped in thin packaging (no padding or extra container) and shipped internationally!

As you can imagine, the box arrived completely smashed and dented, the shoes were slightly damaged as well.

I reached out to their customer service and complained about the damaged box and damaged product. They claimed that this is not their problem (poor packaging and handling) and they do this to save the customers pennies. They also claimed that the torn and frayed stitching on the shoe was not a manufacturing defect when they received the returned shoe.

I paid $35 to ship the product back to the UK but they refused to reimburse me and this is how they treat their customers.

If you're on the fence about ordering a shoe from Start Fitness, BEWARE! They'll ship it to you shoddily packed and won't refund you the shipping, even if it's their fault!

Is it worth the risk in ordering from them and then having to pay expensive shipping? You can't even sell the item once you receive it because the box is so damaged...

they asked me to write them to confirm delivery date and after I did so they said " this order has not passed our security checks and therefore we cannot despatch it"

"Purchased from overseas. The size was not correct, did not match established size conversions, and did not match the same shoe on a friend who purchased elsewhere. Start Fitness, Ian and Cameron, refused any other idea then return at my expense (over $50 cost for the shoe). I beleive passing that cost onto customers is a means to reduce returns despite their deceptive practices. Hence, I can't recommend and will not repeat as a customer. I should have used past reviews as a guide since this issue has been discussed"
