don't do biz w them, de-service

"online order cancellation without explanation. we had to speak with a stateside agent, who does not take direct calls but can only be re-routed by first-line agents who are in the philippines. even after dropped call transfer and 20 min wait, jessica was cold, unwilling to reprocess (as email had directed) and unsympathetic. could not even reach someone higher up than her. complete waste of time. they get paid to do nothing in total honesty. email to their cs manager shannon norman was bounced back!"

Staples Far Surpasses "That Other Office Supply Store"

"I run a busy litigation firm, so I am a frequent consumer of office supplies as well as other office-related services. I do my shopping fairly equally between in-store and online. I shop at both Staples as well as "That Other Office Supply Store" - you know which one I am referring to. I recently relocated my law firm to a location that is about three doors down from a Staples store, so I have been shopping there a good deal in the past couple of weeks. I can honestly say that Staples beats their competitor in a number of ways.

First, Staples has more selection, and their stores are generally more pleasing in which to shop.

Second, the services Staples offers small businesses is considerable, including computer setup, tech support, and shipping. I am definitely going to use their tech support and shipping services as needed.

Third, and most impressive, however, is Staples' recycle and shred reward program. Through this program, customers can get $5 rewards for recycling their unwanted tech devices. I turned in a broken printer on 10/30/2022, and Staples took it with no fuss or muss. In addition, this program gives a $5 reward to customers who bring in their shredding as well. As close as I am to a Staples store, and considering how much shredding I must do, you can bet I will be taking advantage of this offer and applying it to ongoing purchases at Staples. It's a good program for the environment, and it saves me money at the same time.

Took My Money Without Knowing What Stock They Had

"Ordered a refurbished printer on Oct, 13, 2021. Since it is refurb, I imagine it isn't shipping from overseas. Staples indicated that it would ship in early December. On November 22nd, they sent email that there was none available. Infuriating."

Could not provide

"I tried to purchase ink cartridges about 4 months ago and they could not provide. They sent me a courtesy coupon, now I tried to order the same thing and use the coupon, they still can not provide. If they can’t provide what they are suppose to be able to sell, why just not eliminate it from their store, and why postpone the inevitable, just call it quits and go out of business. If you can’t even supply something as simple as ink, why would anyone bother purchasing a printer from your store?.... tired of being jerked around."

Quick -Load Heavyweight Sheet Protectors-Avery 73802

"Save your time and and money, do not buy this garbage from Staples. I had planned to reorganize all of my files documents transferring all older documents into these sheet protectors and then
catalog in evening preceding a presentation the following day. So...I spent a half hour in the Staples to purchase product in the store to purchase what was needed, expecting to spend the rest of my evening cataloging all of the material that would fill three binders. Could Not. Every single protector was completely defective. Each sheet tore at teh heat seal line. Nice quality control Avery and Staples. Never to buy this crap again

Could Not Have Been Worse

"Staples ****.

First, they ship slow. Second, their customer service is completely Neanderthal.

Most importantly, though, they are paranoid whiny little babies.

I placed an order for about $70 in Post It Notes and a $200 gift card (that they sent me an e-mail advertisement for!) and wanted to ship it to my son at college. The order went through, but after never getting shipping confirmation in a couple of days I checked and they surreptitiously just cancelled the order without any notification. I called customer service and they were clueless. Checking with my credit card issuer, the charge was approved without any problems.

So I went to Target to order. No problems at all. Order delivered in two days.

No Delivery & No Call Back

"I ordered a printer from Staples because Staple's website said the printer would be delivered in one business day after ordering, to my location. They didn't ship it. I called them and after being on hold for 20 minutes I was told they would find out why it hadn't shipped and they would call me back. They didn't call back. According to there website it still hasn't shipped. If honest delivery and costumer service is important to you, buy from another seller."

Lacking Honesty in Printer Sales

"I went to a Staples retail store to buy a laser printer. I found the one I wanted and proceeded to the register.

The agent at the counter strongly suggested I buy a matching toner since the printer is only good for a few pages due to the starter toner. I knew that probably was not the case and wanted to check elsewhere.

Online I ordered the printer and matching toner for about $45 less than what Staples wanted. I set up the printer and printed 100 pages. The toner level showed that there was still 90% of toner left.

This lesson indicated that some Staples agents are not totally truthful with their customers. If you have any doubts (like I did) with what Staples is telling you--look elsewhere!

Doesn’t stand by pricing - accused customer of fraud for their error

"I ordered something linked to an email sent by Staples. A day later, I checked the order status only to find the order canceled. After being bounced around to a few people, I was given a series of reasons for the cancellation. The rep’s first try was that my billing address failed to verify even though the credit card showed a successful authorization. After challenging that claim, the rep claimed I used an inappropriate discount code even though the code was embedded in the marketing email sent by Staples. She did offer to sell the item at a higher price but it was higher than Amazon at that point.

To add insult to the situation, the rep informed me that she updated my profile so that I wouldn’t get the discount code. Fine with me because it will be a cold day somewhere when I order again. However, when I tried to access my account to unsubscribe from all the emails the logon resulted in a strange error. I had to call again to speak to a supervisions to have my account deleted on their end.

The Best

"I pursued a new Computer on June-6-2019 from Staples at 7131 Yorktown ave. Huntington Beach Ca. Ryan F. Was absolutely great in helping me order the right one and also transferring all information to the new one. I have had nothing but a great experience with the Store and the Technology I.T people

My go to paper supplier

"I order almost all the paper for my custom card business from them online. The prices are right and my order arrives at my door quickly. I have ordered several times and the one and only time there was an issue, I simply emailed them and the issue was resolved quickly."

Best Customer Service

"I had an issue with an order and spoke with a rep named Sabrina who really went above and beyond to resolve the issue. Not only was she able to get a replacement shipment out to me for an item that the shipping company lost, but she also made sure that it would be delivered by a different carrier, as to avoid the same situation again. I wish all phone support reps were this helpful and accommodating. She should be promoted to team leader or something, because that call alone would have made great training material. It's when I have to interact with someone at staples which reminds me why I shop there over other places. Best customer service by far!!"

Excellent customer service

"I was recently in your Ridge Rd. West store in Greece New York. I needed copies of an odd sized Xmas card that my parents had sent out in 1961 with pics. and names of my nine brothers and sisters. I was amazed at how much time Raul and Katherine in your copy dept. spent helping me get the copies I needed just right. During this time of year especially it is so nice to find young people who are so helpful. I hope your company appreciates these two employees. I know I will be using this store a lot more for all my paper needs. Thanks again Raul and Katherine.
