"Squadron was, once upon a time, THE mail-order vendor for modelers across the United States. Entering into the digital age however their business model was unable to keep up with the times. Many of us turned away from them because it seemed that they weren't even trying to keep their product range relevant & instead were only stocking brands based out of China. (That's not to say all Chinese kits are bad, far from it, but it's not the be-all/end-all producer of high quality hobby products.) Eventually we long time customers watched it quietly sink into history as they fell into bankruptcy. However, not everyone was content to watch an American icon disappear. A gentleman down in Georgia opted to pick up the torch in an attempt to revitalize Squadron as a 21st century business. He's still in the process of putting all the links back together to include their house brand vacuform transparencies, reference books, Squadron/True Details resin parts in addition to linking up with a network of importers BUT he's making remarkable progress. So far I have only made one transaction with the new Squadron & I was very impressed. The prices were EXTREMELY reasonable, the order processing speed was outstanding, what's more is that they then & currently offer free shipping on all orders over $100! Once their house brand of decals, resin accessories & transparencies become more readily available I intend to begin directing a considerable amount of my business in their direction. I'm sure even before then I will make further orders! Nonetheless it is truly impressive to see Squadron beginning to spreads it's wings, in it's phoenix-like rise from the brink, back into the center stage as one of America's preeminent sources for hobby supplies."
