ignore 1-star reviews on RR

"unfortunately a lot of paid trolls make accounts on RR then cut and paste negative reviews, and RR puts up with it until SSG pays them to monitor feedback here. I'm a regular RR reviewer who likes to buy subscriptions and software license indirectly using gift cards and resellers. I don't like my anti-malware provider to know who I really am, only that I'm a paying user of their service. I bought a Malwarebytes 1pc lifetime which was discontinued in 2014, and most who claim to be selling "lifetime" are just hackers using code generators and "lifetime" just means if your sub dies, you can email them for a new code.

thankfully, that is NOT how SSG operates. they have a B&M location with real human beings that answer phones and emails during normal business hours, unlike most software code by email vendors that are merely hacker front ends. after payment cleared I got my code within 2 hours and it worked flawlessly - something that any Malwarebytes pirate knows is a big deal, since they will cut off all pirate codes and amnesty programs by June 2016. I just hope SSG still has some of these rare licenses left by the time I convince my friends to buy them.

"I'd be real careful with this company. I think they are about to disappear and leave us holding the bag of bad software keys. I have been unable to contact them for the last two days and the last software key I ordered from them was invalid."

"Office 2013 was purchased in March 2014. When trying to activate the key card, Microsoft said it was not recognized as a valid product key. After sending one or two more, it was finally successfully installed. At the time Outlook 2013 was not installed. In December, I tried to install Outlook and could not do so. When talking to Microsoft, they said that card had code had been used on several computers many times. That was not by me. OfficeSupplyGroup sent me another card without too much trouble, but said it was the last one they would send. Well that one doesn't work either. Hopefully I can get my money back from the credit card company."

"Horrible service!!!!Purchased software that was in stock (according to their site) but was actually on back order. The company didn't even make me aware of it until I called to check the order. A total waste of time."

"I'm not sure what everyone else has experienced, but I've had nothing but good results from Software Supply Group. I haven't bought any hardware from them. Frankly I didn't know they sold it. I have purchased several operating system disks from them and did get a bad one at some point. They upgraded me from branded OEM to an unbranded system builder disk for next to nothing and got the new disk to me fast. I've bought a few other OEM applications from them as well and their prices were so good I bought an extra disk that I still haven't installed on anything yet. I'm no expert. I've built 2 PCs in about 15 years and done clean installs on all my machines. That's the limit of my experience. I've had to call their customer service and they've always been more than willing to take the time to work through the issue. I assure you they didn't ask me to write this. I was appalled at their rating and thought it would be the least I could do to give my account of Software Supply Group's service."

"I purchased a refurbished MacBook Pro from Software Supply group sold the laptop to be as "refurbished" and I believe now that the laptop was only "wiped".

I believe this because within weeks of purchase the battery failed. I purchased a new battery, and communicated the problem to the vendor. They offered to reimburse me for that expense, so I scanned the receipt and they processed reimbursement. Life went all and all was fine.

Eight months later, in June of this year, the laptop failed again, I was travelling on business so it took a few weeks to get it to my Apple Certified Repair shop.
The Apple people scanned it in as they reported that this laptop was recalled by Apple 4 years ago for a faulty video card but that recall had expired. Had Software Supply Group actually REFURBISHED the laptop they would have known this and replaced the LogicBoard for free. However, Software Supply Group was not selling a REFURB, they sold a laptop that was WIPED.
So, I lost all my data and my laptop.

I believe that Software Supply Group committed fraud in marketing this item as refurbished.

"I purchased a fridge from www.softwaresupplygroup. When I purchased, I was told that the product is out of stock at the moment and will be available within 1-2 weeks. 3 weeks passed and no news so I called the company and they said they will investigate and return back to me via email. They never did....Couple days later, I sent them email asking to cancel my order and refund my money back to card if they can not provide me the product I purchased 4 weeks ago, they said, they can not full fill my order and have to cancel it. I basically lost 4 weeks of waiting for my order and the time trying to communicate with them, it sucks. "

"I ordered a motherboard from them on a Friday morning. I was sent a confirmation email that stated as there website did, that the product was in stock and would ship next business day. Finally on the following Tuesday when it still stated on the site that the order was processing I gave them a call. I talked to a representative there and they stated that it was being processed, item was in stock, and would ship that afternoon. Later that evening I was sent an email by them stating that the item was back ordered. They were already closed so I called back the next day. I talked to 3 different reps there that day and all of them had the same answer, "We are hoping to get the product back in stock in the next week or two, but we are not sure when it will be. Hopefully one or two weeks but we can't guarantee anything." I then canceled my order and will never buy from them again. There good prices aren't worth the terrible service. BUYER BEWARE! READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE YOU TRY TO SAVE A COUPLE DOLLARS!"

"We buy over $500,000 worth of products online every year, so I've had a fair bit of experience in dealing with online vendors. This company is selling pirated key codes. Software Supply Group sent us 2 keycodes for Quickbooks (instead of sending us the retail packaging, Quickbooks doesn't have an open license program!) and when we called Intuit, they confirmed the keycodes were already owned by another company and would not activate for us.

When we tried to contact Software Supply Group to resolve the issue, they would not return our emails or phone calls. This is rather surprising, as typically when we've caught other companies selling pirated software in the past, they bend over backwards and attempt to give us whatever we want to keep our mouth shut and not report them.

We are reporting them to the BSA for software piracy and disputing the charge on our credit card.

Buyer Beware!

"On 11/2/10 I emailed the company requesting technical information about the Windows XP Pro SP3 Recovery CD For Dell Computers. I received a response in about 3 hours and placed my order. The CD was shipped out that same day and I received it on Saturday, 11/6. I put a new hard drive in my old Dell Inspiron 1200 over the weekend, used the CD to install the OS along with my original Product Key, and the laptop now works perfectly. Without a doubt, this was one of the most pleasant internet transactions I've ever had.

I wish they had sent me an email and order tracking number but their customer service was excellent once i was finaly able to get a hold of them."

"I purchased Kaspersky Internet Security 3-User License last January 2009 and thought I had gotten a great deal. However the shipping & handling for the following paperwork and key was excessive. They mailed a Packing Slip with the key – no price shown and should have been charge a .42 cent stamp but was billed $7.00 dollars plus. I had no problem downloading my new version of Kaspersky but this past month I got an ugly warning box stating “ Attention! Your key has been blacklisted. … If you are using a pirated version of our software, please purchase the license.” I had a few not so nice thoughts. Anyway after contacting Kaspersky they explained some vendors are selling product keys for the overseas version of Kaspersky which they are not authorized to do and in the end you become the victim. So if it’s not in the box beware of the great deal! I would like to see the S&H returned along with credit plus prorate the remaining two months. I guess we’ll see how well they do when asked but I’m not real happy about how this worked out."
