"The product works really great, I'm using it with the tv tuner Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 Media Center. The only problem is that the IR blaster who comes in the PVR-150 is not able to change the channel on the numeric decoder "illico" (the provider of cable service is Videotron is Canada). When a channel change is made, it works in beyond tv but doesn't change the channel in the decoder.

"Sorry, nothing bad to say.
I was having problems with ATI Catalyst Media Center Version 1.0.4310. I could not get it to Scheduled TV Recording.
AMD Tech Support told me to download and try the Trial Version of Beyond TV 4.9.1. I installed it. It worked fine with the VisionTek HD 650 PCI Card.
I wanted to remove the ATI Catalyst Media Center, so I uninstall Beyond TV then uninstalled everything else. Rebooted and cleaned the Windows Registry.
Reinstalled the Graphics Drivers. Then reinstalled Beyond TV 4.9.1.
However, I lost the 21-Day Trial Period, so I purchased the Software. It works and is recording now.
It also Detects QAM Cable Channels under Windows XP and you can't beat that.

"The Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1800 hvr-1800
PCI-Express card I ordered came quickly and in good condition. It works well in the PCI-1x slot that I had available and it works perfectly with the beyond TV program. I am happy with my purchase.

"A little expensive for an IR device that doesn't even come with software.
I had expected that as a Beyond TV customer there would be some discount for purchasing a second remote. You know customer loyalty and all that....
All in all I find their prices high, but they are consistently in stock.

"Prompt shipment good packaging. Remote was sturdy and buttons are firm and positioned well on the remote for familiarity. Software was adequate but very limited. Most disappointing aspect was the poor performance of the plugins furnished for, so-called, supported third party software. My primary purpose for purchase was to control Nullsoft Winamp, a supported software. The remote failed to function for most of the controls needed to operate this program. The documentation on how to access and alter the programming for 3rd party software was, virtually, non-existant and, though it furnished me with the location for these plugins, it offered no guidance on how to program them. Had I not been familiar with the basics of this process, this remote would have been completely useless to me and I would have returned to using my ATI Remote Wonder. Ironic since ATI is limited on 3rd party support. I contacted Snapstream for technical assistance immediately and, after 5 days, have received no response. Fortunately, even at 70 years of age, with ATI's help, I was able to program Snapstream's device and am qute pleased with it's performance thus far. It is puzzling that I would have to get tech support from their competitor. All this said, so far, it has been a great remote."

"The program works as advertised. However when shutting down the computer the BTV4 screen opens then an error message appears that the "BTVAgent2.exe" cannot shut down so I just end the program. Anyway searching the net indicates that I am not the only one experiencing this problem and that Snapstream doesn't seem to want to do anything about it."

"The software is superb and worked as advertised. Support from the company...nay even a RESPONSE from the company...was absent. Support apparently consists of do-it-yourself help from a a forum based on customers sharing with other customers...a pretty good source, frnakly, but the company seems to go to some length to avoid interacting with their customers--or so it seemed to me. While such personal support is expensive and usually to be discouraged in order to keep costs down, customers usually can get help to get the product working. Not for me, in this case. A full reinstall solved my problems and I am enjoying using it very much. So mixed feelings for me. Love the software, but find the company an enigma--at least so far."

"Quick delivery, decent service, but really not happy about the *requirement* for a credit card to order. Nobody there seems to recognize the irony of offering PayPal as an "alternative" to ordering with a credit card, but then *requiring* that the PayPal account HAVE A CREDIT CARD ATTACHED!

"The lack of Closed Caption (CC) support is unbelievable for software in this price range. The free software from ATI supports CC. CC support is standard on TVs and it is standard for many other less expensive PC software. The TV guide is very good, probably one of the best, and the software is fairly easy to use. The aspect ratio needs some work as 1600x900 does not show the entire picture in full screen. Changing between aspect ratios is somewhat glitchy. It doesn't always work the first time.
On the good side, the Firefly remote is very good. It is actually better then BeyondTV.
Recommendation: If your software supports it, buy the Firefly remote, but don't buy the BeyondTV software if you want/need Closed Captioning. I uninstalled BeyondTV, but can't send it back because of very short period of time for returns.
Wasted good money by not fully researching product to find out it did not support CC, and won't be in near future according to representitive I was in contact with. A simple issue that could make this product highly recommended, but SnapStream doesn't care about customer satisfaction as long as their product is selling.
